I think my sister used to believe that the cast of Friends were her actual friends. Friends wasn't that bad. Cheers wasn't that bad but what annoyed me about cheers is that pretty much all of every episode took place in the bar, being a kid at the time I couldn't relate to any of it at all.
Roseanne was funny when I was a kid but her voice is irritating. Coach wasn't bad. The best sitcom I can think of off the top of my head was Married with Children.
As you can see, I haven't really watched sitcoms since the 90's.
'The Office', 'Parks and Rec', 'Community' and '30 Rock' were great specifically because they pulled off a sitcom without the laugh track. So glad there was a period that steered away from what we've come to expect from sitcoms. Great writers, too!
So glad Fey found another outlet through 'The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmitt'.
EDIT: BBT can't hang with writers like Dan Harmon or Donald Glover.
DOUBLE EDIT: Add 'It's Always Sunny' and 'You're the Worst' (though that gets incredibly dark) to that list.
