Foxx did very well, brought depth to a fairly shallow character.

If you like Spiderman, nothing has changed from the first Amazing, the movie is great.

Wait, Foxx brought depth to that character? God, I'd hate to see what it was like before. He was the weakest part of the movie, to me.

I didn't hate it. I'm not big into Spiderman so I guess I might harbor a bias. I also haven't read the comic books, so maybe comic book fans might enjoy it more than I do. I'm looking at it specifically through the typical lens I have for all movies and to me the movie felt rushed with very little actual character development, instead pushing the action aspect. That to me doesn't a good movie make, but maybe I should lessen my critique in that respect because, let's face it, most movies are that way, nowadays.

Well yeah, it's not Schindler's List, its The Amazing Spiderman 2.

The Avengers set the bar pretty high but you've gotta be able to enjoy a super hero flick for what it is. Action packed with an attempt at a story and a touch of continuity. Especially if you're not innately a fan.

They should consider making it of the same caliber of Schindler's list. The writing is sloppy, but we can excuse it because it wasn't made to win Oscars, and we're okay with that. Sorry, but if a movie's story doesn't hold water, it doesn't hold my attention.

maybe you subconsciously hate watching super hero movies and prefer the movies that are only worth watching once then never again for a long time

kind of like saving private ryan or shawshank redemption.
