No that was SD Gundam something.
SD Gundam Force is the only SD Gundam series I can remember making it over here.

I totally didn't make the connection. I'm like a Gundam noob. I remember that series but didn't realize that was the name of it. I liked it as well.

In the 70's there was a cash grab on the idea of giant robots in anime spawning Robotech, Macross and Gundam which are very similar.

In the 70's there was a cash grab on the idea of giant robots in anime spawning Robotech, Macross and Gundam which are very similar.

Only real similarity is the Mecha, and some of the designs. I mean look at how much Voltron and Power Rangers have in common...

That being said: Gundam throws a lot of political points out there, and focuses a lot on it. Robotech focused on pretty much how love can bring people together and end wars.
