=/ I seem to be having issues keeping a Field Training Officer for my new job. Like all the other new hires with me have been released and are on their own shift now except for me and one other guy.
My first FTO had to bail on me the very first day because of family issues (his parents live in Oklahoma where all those tornadoes hit recently), so I got pawned off onto another guy. He was cool and all, but had to leave early on his first shift so I only got half a day and then did one more full day with him. And now he hasn't been back since then and I got put with another guy.
The third guy was awesome and I liked him, but he isn't a real FTO so I couldn't just keep him. So I got set up with yet another FTO on Friday and she was all "Why haven't you been released yet?" and I explained my FTO woes and she laughed at me.
So showed up this morning on the shift I'm supposed to be working... and shockingly the guy I'm supposed to be with didn't show, so I was gonna end up with the awesome guy again... until he called in sick so I waited for yet another shift to start to get with a completely different FTO this morning.
He already had a trainee (the other guy from my group) and was all "Uhh this guy needs a lot of work, I don't think I can handle two trainees today." So~ I talked to the 510 on duty and talked to the big boss guy and explained the whole situation (he also laughed at it...). Anyway, I got sent home for today and am back with the chick again on Wednesday (7a to 7p bleh). Just got off the phone with her and she was like "Bring your folder and your papers and ***, I'll sign them and release you after you show me if you can drive and work the radio."
So a little frustrated that this should of happened almost two weeks ago, a little relieved it is finally happening... and just feel sorry for the dude who is still training and needs work after 3 weeks.
