So frustrating! We've been working with our beagle to be able to let her run around the house while we're at work instead of being locked in the kennel. The kennel is pretty big for her, I could probably fit two more of her in it comfortably and all three of them could lay down and sleep without touching if they wanted to. So it's not like it's a cruelly small kennel, but I still feel bad that she'd been locked in it for eight hours a day.
So, we've been working with her, and got her to the point where she could stay out, and she's been staying out for about a month now. Then yesterday while we were gone shopping, she pulled a bag of 6 large hamburger buns off the counter and ate them all. We could tell she felt miserable after, she was preferring to lay still with her swollen belly all puffed out, and when she did walk around, it was more of a fat-duck waddle. So we figured, she felt bad yesterday, so surely today she will behave. (She's also recently stolen a box of cereal off a shelf that's as tall as I am and ate it all, and she got up inside my storage shelf and stole some napkins which she shredded, and pushed the coconut oil off onto the floor and knocked over several bottles of gatoraide.)
We stepped out again today (making sure that all the food was pushed far to the back of the counters so she'd have to climb up to get to it.) While we were gone, she pulled a dish of vegetable seeds off the counter, pulled the lid off the dish, and shredded the lid. It was one of those plastic tupperware ones. She got into my gardening shelf, tipped over an empty flowerpot, pulled three pot dishes (you know, the little dish under the pot that keeps it off furniture and holds excess water if you over-saturate) and shredded one of the pot dishes. She just dragged the other two around the living room.
So, that gets her house privileges taken away. From now on while we're at work, she's back in her kennel and Dante gets to guard the house alone. I feel bad, but someday she's going to eat something that's going to kill her, and I don't think I could handle it. I'd rather scrap her freedom than let her kill herself on chocolate or plastic shards or whatever she gets her paws on next.
As if THAT wasn't all bummering enough though, we have three strawberry plants outside, and the oldest one had a ripening strawberry on it (we already plucked some off the other two, they were delicious!) This morning we figured it would be ripe tomorrow, there was just the smallest twinge of yellow still. When we went out on the patio for dinner, the strawberry was gone! Either Pixel or Dante stole it, birds don't come that close to the house. They've been stealing our blackberries for all last season, but we have enough of those that they can steal off the bottom of the bush without affecting the harvest too much. But the strawberries are still small and growing, they can't be stealing those. They can't be eating berries all day anyways or they'll be sick, so now we have to buy a patio table just to set the strawberries up on it so they don't steal all the berries. >< Bah!
What am I going to do with her. :-( Swatting her butt doesn't work-- she knows it's wrong, she just doesn't care. Spraying her with water doesn't work, she just makes sure to be naughty when we aren't looking. Locking her in a kennel works, but that's a cruel life for a dog, to be locked up eight hours a day, five days a week. Locking her in a room wouldn't work because we'd have to clear absolutely everything out of the room and we don't have the storage space to give one room up completely. Besides, she'd probably eat the door or the carpet. I love the kid, but I'm so frustrated with her right now because she just wants to eat everything. She's precious and I love her, and when the awful day comes that she dies, I am never, NEVER getting another beagle. :-(

Okay, so we've got the Eorzean Alliance fleet up and running!

Our Starbase might need a little work, though...

Backreading.
Cheating is never justifiable. You did something wrong, and there is NO excuse for your actions. Being honest and hoping they forgive you (which I don't think I could) is the best option at that point.
I dunno. If you feel the need to cheat or get lured into cheating, you didn't have a stable relationship in the first place. If you aren't happy with who you are with and things aren't getting worked out, leave each other instead of breaking each others hearts with a mistake like that.

Dog crates aren't the cruel prisons they seem to be because it feeds into their den instincts. When I first got my shepherd from the shelter, she had to be crated for almost 2 months until I was positive that she was getting along with the other dogs (and house-trained too of course!). She obviously hated it at first after being in a cage at the shelter for however long but eventually she'd sense when I was leaving for work and would get in on her own. After that two months, I left the crate in the living room with the door always open and whenever I got home, she'd be in there just chilling. (I did eventually have to take it away though cause she was getting too territorial about it, funnily enough.)
So yeah, don't feel too bad about it. It looks evil because we ourselves can't imagine being cooped up in a cage, but it's not :x Especially if you're concerned for their safety.

Smoking kills, people still do it and make no attempt to quit. I smoked for 7 years, Friends, family, illness forced me to consider quitting. I did it. 6 years no regrets. Why can't others make this amazing decision.

It's easy for me to say that I wouldn't forgive someone that cheated on me, but it hasn't happened to me and I'm not sure how I'd truly react to the situation at the time and afterwards. I'd like to say I wouldn't, but I'm not sure.

It's happened to me in the only serious relationship I ever put as much effort into as I did. It's not a good feeling. At all. Especially if you are someone who committed to the loyalty aspect.
I didn't forgive. I like to think I'd have enough respect for myself to not forgive a person for doing that. There's no good reason to cheat, when you have the option to always break up if things aren't good. *Shrug*

I don't know. For me, it's been pretty simple. If I wasn't happy with someone and things weren't getting worked out, then the relationship wasn't gonna last. End relationship. THEN find someone else.

Cheating is never justifiable. You did something wrong, and there is NO excuse for your actions. Unless I worded something wrong, I never attempted to justify it or claim that I had an excuse. I explained some of the circumstances around it, but that wasn't an attempt to avoid guilt. Edit: Unless you were generalizing and not saying that to me specifically.
it hasn't happened to me and I'm not sure how I'd truly react to the situation at the time and afterwards. I'd like to say I wouldn't, but I'm not sure. I've been in that situation with two different relationships. In the first one, I would have forgiven it if she'd actually not left me entirely. The second time was my son's mom. We get along now, but I've never felt a need to forgive her for something when she could have easily left without making it into a big deal. I'm somewhat desensitized to it, really. If I were cheated on now, I'd tell them we were done and move on.
I also swore that I'd never be the one to do the cheating... That I'd end a relationship before I did that. But obviously, that didn't happen and I'm still trying to figure out exactly what it was that made me want to do it.

I suppose I feel slightly bitter because you wanted to work things out with the Girl 1 and still kept Girl 2 around... I don't know how you expect her to forgive you if you're still chillin' with the girl you *** around with on her.
Cut that ***out. Or else I wouldn't even expect her to give you another chance.
>_>; Excuse my bluntness.
Edit: and yeah it was generalizing. I just meant cheating in general. ^^;

I can understand if someone just started flipping their phone over, but I keep mine screen down because I'm actually a very private and reserved person, I don't want people reading any text be it "I'm sucking your...." or "Do we have any milk?" I also never really let anyone use my phone, but that's because everyone seems to break MY stuff if I give them the chance.
Just throwing it out there that phone flipping isn't always a sign of cheating...

How old is Pixel now? Do you get to walk her a lot? Is it possible she just has too much energy (for her age) and that comes out as rambunctious/destructive behaviour? I just ask this, because from my experience, taking long walks with energetic dogs on a daily basis tends to alleviate that pent-up energy (and they are less inclined to chew/get into things, etc.)

I understand that. The thing is this started happening half a year after living together. It was a sudden change in behavior. He just got super duper shady about everything and I didn't feel like explaining anything more. lol
I was never an invasive person, so it was weird that he'd do that when I never went out of my way to even bother with what he'd text/who'd he talked to. That's all.

Not to gang up on you, Drokin, but I'm not super fond of cheating either. It's never happened to me, but when I was a child, my parents divorced because my mother was cheating. It ripped the family apart, and split friends and relatives into rivals of Team Dad and Team Mom. And those rivalries and grudges still exist today, over 20 years later.
You think you're only affecting yourself; you're not. Don't put your friends and family into that situation of having to choose a side and split. Especially not over something as controllable as keeping your pants zipped.
/comfort. I have never been tempted to cheat nor cheated upon, so I don't know what it's like from either angle. Just from a kid's angle. I don't know how you must feel, I can't pretend to understand when I've never been there, but three-year-old me talking-- don't. Just don't.

Well, any sudden change in behavior is fishy. I'm a nervous type person, tho... It probably comes from my family judging everything I do. I'm never my true self around them. I never really show interest in the opposite sex (nor the same) around them, I never use profanity unless quoting. It's complicated.

She's three years old now, going on four. When I play fetch with Dante or run around the house chasing them and letting them chase me, she gets bored fast and goes to lay in the sun. But she does LOVE walks! Maybe more walks would help.

Yeah like I'm not trying to make you feel worse. It's obvious you already feel bad about it man and I'm sorry reading back on my responses, I put a little backhanded bitchiness in them. >_<
I hope things work out, I know you probably didn't mean to hurt anyone. Just cheating in the end, like Liela said, hurts a lot of people.
Just, if you want to work things out with the girl, you really needa get some of your priorities straightened and actually try harder (and have her try harder) to compromise and work things out in your relationship.... If she forgives you, don't take that for granted. o_O And really.... Leave girl 2 out of your life... You won't have a chance in hell at fixing a relationship if you keep the girl you cheated on her with around. Why would she trust you if you're still chilling with her?
^^; Good luck though.

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
