pileup at funeral procession.
this got me wondering, and you don't really need to read the article to reply. it says that oncoming traffic yielding/pulling over is an unwritten southern code. every funeral i've been to here in TN and in missouri people pull over to the shoulder when a funeral procession comes. is it really just a southern thing? to people do that where you guys are from?
I'm from Ohio and yes, the oncoming lane of traffic is expected to pull over.
I doubt it's law, but people would think you're pretty rude for not taking the minute or two out of your day to do it.
I also can't remember if it's only on normal roads, or if people on highways tend to do it, too. I personally avoid funerals, and I'm rarely out on the highway.
police will escort/close roads.
This, too, when it's in a town or on back roads. Again, I can't remember how it works with highways.
