I always tell people figure out what is a good amount of money you want to make (not bare minimal) and add 15%. So if you are looking for a job that pays $13, the pay you want is around $14.95. Also stick around a company that will has options to give raises and not dictate by how the company does and allow some type of advancement. If you don't get that, it'll be a job that will not offer anything for your resume. May I ask what state you live in? I hadn't even thought about looking at Craigslist since I moved.
