Ay, there's the rub. So, adding modern sequels to classic movies - yay or nay?
I mean, I'm not going to bash it, because I did enjoy it. I think Sami Raimi is probably the only one who could have done the job. It's also not a sequel. 'Return to Oz' is the sequel, and creepy as ***!!!

I need to reread the books again now that I can fully appreciate them.
The dialogue got a little "Disney-ish" at times, and I guess I might be a little hung up on Ray Bolger and Judy Garland, but Franco did okay. There were just a few points where modern one-liners were injected, and I really would have liked more a nod to the 1930's MGM days other than as comment about a gingham dress. :/
I'm being nit-picky, but I just loved Baum so much!
