How about your own in the lake... of... lava? If by lake of...lava...you mean....chirmole con carne asada, it was great. >_> Even added plantains to the feast (sister in law is Puerto Rican and I forgot how much they love and add Platanos to everything and its like OMFG FOOD IS +1!) >_> I have tons of Carne asada left but we finished of the platanos. =3

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM mouth watering right now at the best meal I have had was in Puerto Rico. Aly, if you are reading this, know the Chicken Brests wrapped in Bacon stuffed with platanos? Yah that? HEAVEN!
If you are ever in the crazy mood to make it and make extra portions to sell, I will DEF buy some. ; ;

I've always wanted to try some genuine Puerto Rican cooking, but I'm apprehensive about it because it's heavy on the rice. Carne asada is always awesome though, and in fact my buddy is moving to Denver in a few weeks, so I'm going to throw him a party with plenty of carne asada and pollo asado. That stuff tastes sooooooo good.
Also, never had plantains before. From what I hear though, they're pretty rough on the digestive system.

LOL Mag, as growing up with rice as much as I did, yah, rice is boring to me. But I don't mind it nor hate it like you. =P I even grew to re love frijoles again.
Never heard anything bout platanos being bad for tummy. o.O It will not dissuade me from feasting on them. ^^

Well, I think if you boil it down or cook it a certain way, plantains won't be the same. But you can't eat them straight up; it would be like eating a bay leaf with its indigestible fiber.
And who knows... maybe I won't hate rice forever. Maybe one day...
Okay, I don't believe that one, either.

I am currently running an experiment on bananas. I have read rumors on the internets about how best to keep bananas from ripening too soon and getting all brown and mushy. One source said to wrap the head of the banana in tin foil. (Tin foil banana hat...?) Another said to break the bananas apart at the stem instead of leaving them bunched.
I believed neither source, because the internet is full of shenanigans. But then I thought, what could it hurt? So I bought three bunches of bananas. I left one alone, wrapped one in tin foil, and broke the other apart. Now I am photographing my Experimental Bananas every day to properly document how long each bunch takes to start browning.
It's only Day 3, but so far they all look identical (except that my husband already filched a banana from the "broke apart" bunch and ate it).
I am a Mythbuster!
Edit: All that this actually proves is that I really, really need a job. xD

let us know of the results!
I like making Banana Bread, assuming enough bananas live long enough to make it.

(Yes, I'm bored atm. Why do you ask?)

"and on day 8 the humble banana is quietly grazing in the field not aware of my prese- wait ... what is this... he's notices me... let's see what he does..."
"Oh you're a nice banana aren't you? Now you see people this is the common banana, it's habitats include counters, shelves AND perhaps they may even be spotted in hands"

think chuuuuu does.
tho i think its Fortaleza del Gato
presidio can be used to,
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
