It really depends on what time of the year it is, thanks to AZ refusing to adhere to daylight savings time. You're Eastern, right? If so, you'd be 2-3 hours behind. Otherwise, Central is 1-2. I forget which one is which, but I think right now it's the lesser one. I'm EST, yeah. And that means it'll be 7PM for you when it's 10PM for me. (I'll be ahead of you, not behind. But I know you meant that anyway.)

A cousin of mine (distant, I think... I can't keep track) posted this on Facebook about a half hour ago...
Quote: I am headed to South Carolina now... My grandmother Rita just died. She had a heart attack. I will keep you posted. At first, I missed the "grand" and felt bad for her. Is it horrible that once I re-read it and saw that it was her grandmother, not her mom, I thought to myself, "Well that's not so bad"?
My grandparents all died when I was still young, so I never had that connection with grandparents that other people get.

It varies from person to person really. As horrible as this might sound to people (looking in from the outside and all) I think I'd be more upset with my grandmother dying (heaven forbid) than my mother dying (again, heaven forbid). But thats just me.Its all down to life experience and how they each played a part of your lives.

My grandparents all died when I was still young, so I never had that connection with grandparents that other people get. I was like that with my mom's father. He died when I was like 2. Then my granny passed away like a month or so ago, and that... I honestly wasn't concerned. But my other two grandparents who have been somewhat supportive most of my life (as long as they live in that bubble where they assume I'm a Republican and a Christian) are getting close. They're both in their mid to high eighties, and they're just waiting for their time. It's going to be brutal when they go.

The last of my grandparents (from what I remember) died when I was 10. I remember faces, but mostly just from pictures my parents had around the house. And I've heard stories, but don't remember any of them myself. So yeah, my idea of how people feel about their grandparents is sort of skewed.
My parents are, for the most part, in good health, so I always hope that my son will get the opportunity to grow up with a different view on it.

It's more horrible to see them get senile and their health failing more and more. I was very close with all of my grandparents, and except for my dad's father, none of them had an easy death ._.

Understandable. I'm on the other side of the fence in this kinda stuff. My grandparents are relatively young (given their age and my age) and I've lived with them for almost my entire life. My mother moved away a few years ago when she got married and I stayed here because my life was here. Even when I was younger I more so have more recollections of my grandmother being more involved than my mother. So its all different on my side. Of course everyone is different and has a different story

I guess that's why, as much as I know I also missed out on knowing great people, I also feel sort of lucky. At least I didn't have to experience the pain of seeing them slowly die.
I was dating an ex when her grandfather died. She was very close to him and seeing her in so much pain was awful.

Edit to add... I had an ex who claimed the guy at one of the piercing/tattoo shops said she could get her tongue pierced for free in exchange for showing him her boobs. I told her to go for it.

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
