I have been 100% unemployed the entire time. If it came down to giving the "dependent" the difference between single and married BAH then that would work out in my favor. I love the movie Grosse Point Blank! But every time I watch it, it makes me nervous for my high school reunion. Only two years until those awful "It's been ten years, let's see each other!" cards start arriving. In other words, I have two years to get out of the country, accidentally lose contact with everyone who knew me in high school, or come up with an ironclad excuse not to go. D: !!

Legally she could have single BAH. The only way she can get in trouble is if she is collecting dependent BAH when she knew you two were never getting back together. If she was collecting BAH as a married services member, it could work to your benefit now until the time your divorce is finalized. Edit to add: If the military finds out she has been collecting Dependent bah/COLA based on marriage, she will be forced to pay it back until the amount she collected is paid back. (This is hypothetical, but I have seen it happen more than once)

Yeah, I am pretty sure she is either an E3 or an E4 though and at her command you can only move off base and collect single BAH if you are an E5 or above without dependents. Even if she made E5 already somehow (possible, I made E5 in 2.5 years as an IT) the BAH for an E5 in Cali was only like $1600, and she is getting $1900 which I believe is the married BAH rate. I honestly don't care if I get anything out of it, I just want her to get into trouble if she has been manipulating the system for this long because it has also been causing me a huge headache trying to get the divorce finished! finaly copying the music i downloaded last week to my iphone...

She might not get into any trouble at all to be honest, but at this point I just want it off my mind.
