Seeing the game is all futuristic I'm sure it's like a "gun bow" or some ***, lol. I'm sure it's ranged of some sort since they generally give the fragile characters in RPGs ranged weapons.
looks more like a wrist style crossbow then the standard archer style bow.
Maybe, but with the angle of the camera, the exact shape of the weapon is hard to make out. If is a crossbow, I can't see the stock and trigger.
You can see something sharp loaded into the middle of it. Also lack of stock and trigger is what made me think that it was a wrist style as it would be quite small in that case... Best i can think as a comparison is in Yue Ying's weapon in dynasty warriors 6 empires + strikeforce (minus the added blade) if you've ever played either of those games.
So looks like serah actually has a sword, or perhaps switches between the 2. I know when they first planned FF13 they were looking at combineing long and short range attacks (see the first trailer where it works off a double digit AP system instead of 6 tops).
Or it could just be the "Pulseworker" and has a similar hair style.
looks like they added a few new things, storyline is suppose to be alternate storyline, but gameplay is exactly the same, This game looks like its going to be sh%t....again
The battle system was my favourite part, I am baffled when anyone says they will play it for the story. It had none. Tetsuya Nomura's characters are as emo as they look this time around - none of them have compelling behaviour or voices. What happened to Bagamnan, Al-Cid, and Darth Vader? They just scream combinations of philosophical words that don't really make sense
I will play it and hope they've redeemed the story, b/c that battle system could go far if it was in a game that wasn't terrible. It does need improvement too of course. I am hoping those 'cinematic battle' scenes are more than 1 button (and I don't mean several strings of 1 button, I mean several strings of several buttons like Auron's limit breaks). The focus in that term needs to be on 'battle,' not 'cinematic.'
I like the music to that main area too. It has a very heavy Persona feel. And with that machine being called "Atlas" it sure doesn't help not thinking about Atlus, lol.
Well that was nice eye candy. Cant say Ive been following FF13s at all as the last one was so bad.
Im terrified to invest in it, so Ill probably skip it.
13 had crap story telling, I didnt feel for any of the characters..it was like..like...That speed racer movie, where everything pretty colors was hitting you in the face so fast you felt like you wanted to vomit.
Everybody hated ff12, but atleast you could watch ff12 like a movie and still be entertained by the characters and the voice acting was very good!
Its hard to get excited for a game where you have no connection with the characters or world they live in.
like I said before, my one positive is..It does look pretty. Well, one more thing too, theres really no other games out there to look forward to other than a Kingdom Hearts sequel (darknessdarknesslightdarkness!) and thats just sad.
After years of build-up and waiting, Final Fantasy XIII was released to so-so reviews. The game was a disappointment. But, if at first you don't succeed, try again.
Regardless of fan bickering or indifference, the game was a monster hit for Square Enix, moving over six million copies.
The game's developer, Square Enix, is working on Final Fantasy XIII-2, a direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII.
The number of Final Fantasy games can be confusing for non-fans. Each of the games do not follow sequential order, so when Square Enix wants to do a sequel to Final Fantasy XIII, the game does not end up being Final Fantasy XIV (which is a totally different, already released game), but Final Fantasy XIII-2.
There is a precedent for this as Square Enix released a sequel to Final Fantasy X in 2003 called Final Fantasy X-2. The sequel followed the exploits of Final Fantasy X heroine Yuna, and Final Fantasy XIII is expected to do the same.
Square Enix has only unveiled the game's logo, which showed Final Fantasy XIII heroine Lightning as well as a new, unnamed character. It is thought that this character is Lightning's rival.
Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, which caused controversy by originally only being slated for the PS3, Final Fantasy XIII-2 is penciled in for both the PS3 and the Xbox 360, right off the bat. The game won't have the wait that Final Fantasy XIII did. According to Square Enix, it will be released in 2011.
So... yeah... Wasn't a huge fan of XIII maybe they'll do this better? lol.
