looks like 13-2 had strong sales for the US/Europe versions, in total sold over 1.2mil copies. Not 100% but from a quick google search(japan 1st week apparently about 525k sold) seems like it had a stronger 1st week than in japan in the USA only lol, not to mention the extra 400 sold in Europe. The USA ps3 version alone was a solid 425k.
hopefully sales were strong enough to get a 13-3 in the makes if its not already, I rather have another full game than continue a story in DLC with capped out characters.
The ending was obvious if you followed the subtle hints in the story line, not to be trolling, but i had a feeling that would happen. I personally thought it was fitting. Cant wait until 13-3!

No, just no.
Even from someone like me who is enjoying 13-2, that battle system needs to die a fiery awful death.
There are always ways to keep things going with DLC. New armor/weapons, higher level cap, etc.

luckily there is only very few ppl who dont like the battle system, this is the 1st time ive seen it lol, its the best battle system they have ever had imo. new armor? we use armor? or do you mean the "outfits"? Level cap, MAYBE but FF doesn't normally go over 99. Weapons are the only thing I could see them maybe expanding on if they wanted to srsly take the game even further with just DLC.
The DLC was prolly just a cheap cop out from making another entry into the 13 series had the sales been shitty. win win for them, they do good they bust out another 13 and continue to profit, or they do bad and just finish off the game in cheap DLC and rob us.
the old one was the same thing just laid out like it had customization, but really u could just skip over minor ***every now and then which was only good for charas u had no intention to use for magic roles or melee ones.
me personally I just held A down the whole time and didnt skip ***, so for me its the exact same system.

I can't figure out what I'm buying, that's my problem with it. I can't see where it's headed or anything. I'd like to prioritize things like I did in XIII.. If there's a command ablility just 2 spheres away but I hardly use commando on that character and a ravager ability like 10 spheres away, I'm going to get the commando one.. But with this system I can't figure out how to tell what I should go for.. I'm basically just guessing.
well in the bottom right it tells u what level ur going to get ur next thing and whats after it. I feel what ur saying but at the same time, CP is allot easier to come by and farm so its not really a big deal to just take what u get as it comes to you. mostly you just want the beefy stats upgrades which come at higher levels per role. I personally took rav and com up 1st and ignored everything else and had a green chocobo for healer and i was good til the end of the game.
Not for me it doesn't.. It just says the next ability, it doesn't include the HP spheres and what not. I also have no way to gauge how many of those non-ability spheres until I get an ability. That is a major problem for me, and it bugs the ***out of me. At least with XIII I felt I had some control over my character development.. FFS, just remove the CP system all together and let the upgrades be random, same difference in the end as it is in XIII-2
maybe im thinking of upgrading monsters as far as what it says is next, if i was wrong.
yea, they totally take out the feeling of some "control" in 13-2, but luckily u will be capped out soon enough anyways. for the most part though, the level ups are pretty much upgrades to all attributes, kinda emulating a real level up with the occasional new ability and fat node.
What strategies/paradigm are you guys using to beat Light/Fatguy? I get really close to beating the tubby first, but slowly buy surely he breaks me/my party down. I spam potions like crazy, and also have a healer in the setup, but still I seem to take a lot of damage.
I have almost 3k HP for Serah and Noel, and my tank has 2k-ish HP. Do I need to get a bit higher still? Just seems like I should be able to kill them by now.
Maybe I need a Synergist/Saboteur mixed in there...

Lightning is weak by Deshell/Deprotect while Amodar is weak by Imperial/Poison. Poison is godly overpowered in FFXIII and 2 for high HP mobs. Capturing them is a 7% rate roughly so it's best to get tougher. If Amodar/Lightning go both Commandos Amodar will go on a Grenade spam fest.
If you defeat one of them the other will gain buffs which can't be dispelled and get access to their feral. Amodars Iron Bear Claw can do 6k+. Try to get Green Chocobo (Yaschas Massif 100-110 AF if you got access to it) it is the best Medic in the game. It can be easily staggered but the Chocobo is a real troll and may full restore it's HP or flee from battle. But Green Chocobo has Melee Proof trait and it's medic power goes way beyond Flanitors.
Also use Dragoon if you got it. It can be tamed in Augusta Tower 200 AF and that thing is well overpowered at early levels for a Commando.

They could add new zones, new fights, new storyline. Really anything is up for grabs with DLC.
Also I could live with the battle system if just one thing was changed. If auto didn't automatically do the best thing.
If you want the best damage, cures, etc. it should have to be done manually. If the creature is weak to fire but ice is halved, auto should do some random crap like ice, ice, fire, aero, aero. Not fire fire fire fire fire.
But the battle system has been talked to death. Some people hate it and some people really like it, so it's just a matter of preference really.

Thanks for the tips! I will have to give these tactics a whirl for sure. I am only a few story lines away from the area where you obtain a green choco, so I will go on ahead and get one of those, then try again.

The 3rd members I had were the albino seedling, some behemoth thing, and a goblin (Feral skill gave Protect/Shell/Vigil/Viligence/Bravery)
I now have a serious issue.. I went to the void beyond and was apparently supposed to throw mog behind some ***to get some gate seals, and now I can't get back there..
and I went there but didn't notice anything and left, and now I don't have a *** clue where I'm supposed to go or do, I look up a walkthrough and it says that a place called Academia is supposed to be open for me, it's not.
After years of build-up and waiting, Final Fantasy XIII was released to so-so reviews. The game was a disappointment. But, if at first you don't succeed, try again.
Regardless of fan bickering or indifference, the game was a monster hit for Square Enix, moving over six million copies.
The game's developer, Square Enix, is working on Final Fantasy XIII-2, a direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII.
The number of Final Fantasy games can be confusing for non-fans. Each of the games do not follow sequential order, so when Square Enix wants to do a sequel to Final Fantasy XIII, the game does not end up being Final Fantasy XIV (which is a totally different, already released game), but Final Fantasy XIII-2.
There is a precedent for this as Square Enix released a sequel to Final Fantasy X in 2003 called Final Fantasy X-2. The sequel followed the exploits of Final Fantasy X heroine Yuna, and Final Fantasy XIII is expected to do the same.
Square Enix has only unveiled the game's logo, which showed Final Fantasy XIII heroine Lightning as well as a new, unnamed character. It is thought that this character is Lightning's rival.
Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, which caused controversy by originally only being slated for the PS3, Final Fantasy XIII-2 is penciled in for both the PS3 and the Xbox 360, right off the bat. The game won't have the wait that Final Fantasy XIII did. According to Square Enix, it will be released in 2011.
So... yeah... Wasn't a huge fan of XIII maybe they'll do this better? lol.
