I was goofing around on
The Wayback Machine and found some interesting stuff. For those who've never seen it, basically the site takes periodic "snapshots" of the internet (all of it!) and stores most of the data on its DB--so while it's not so useful for sites that are still around and update regularly, it's fun because it actually can pull up (some) data on sites that are no longer in existence.
So while I was digging around on it, I found this (click the "impatient?" link to jump straight to the page if it shows up)...
http://replay.waybackmachine.org/20090314042253/http://www.rpgfaces.com/
...which, by extension, I found this...
http://replay.waybackmachine.org/20090317212249/http://www.ffxiplayers.com/cpg1.2.1_standalone/index.php?cat=30
...which was the server/album top-page for ffxiplayers.com. :p (Like a super necro-bump LOL.)
Unfortunately, because the site takes snapshots only at certain intervals, individual pages (and not the site main pages) might only have a couple of time-stamped "snapshots" available to view, at a given time period (when www.archive.org got around to looking at them) and the vast majority (maybe 95%) of the images are "broken". So, for example, the Fenrir album where mine would have been...

...doesn't even have my entry because my lazy butt didn't get around to putting one up until like 2006 (and the snapshot was of 2005 LOL.) And sadly individual pages (where the comments would have been) don't seem to have been captured.
But I still found it cool to see a site that was technically "dead" and also kind of neat to peruse old character names/players that I remember from way-back-when. :p
