after playing 0, during the battles, you SEE cloud working with chaos members (was it Exdeath?) and yet, during 012, Cloud doesnt make an appearance (and oddly, neither does Sephiroth).
during 012 you see Terra and Tidus switch sides... but Cloud? =P
so its been bugging me lol.
as for character playstyle, id have to say Yuna has been my fav so far, while least one id say Lightning, tho all of em have an interesting platstyle, and havent hated em yet (as compared to some villans in Dissidia 1)
Oh, and for anyone wondering why Bartz still has the skills of like Cloud, Terra, and Tidus - When you replay Zidane's story in 013, if you talk to him outside of the first area, he claims he's able to copy the manikin's ability with his Mimic job as well. You still fight manikins from 012's battle so it explains why he still has their moves even though he only has moves from "Cosmos" members.
Edit: During the previous fight, that is. It also explains him still having the new characters' moves in 013.
I'm on the Bartz chapter ugh. Though I'm loving the Hellfire spam >.> Also, anyone else creeped out by how well some of his voice imitations are? Who is his voice actor?!
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd
I'm loving all the 012 references in 013. I just want the 012 cast to show up sometime before the final chaos fight in 013 :<
There are some new cut scenes in 013 that weren't in the original. So if you keep skipping them, you're missing them. It's kinda disappointing to see you're just cruising through it just because you played the first one.
so I'm trying to use Bartz's(my fav from the first one so first I leveled that wasn't for story mode which I currently have stopped due to its HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE stupidity of forcing me to play as lightning again, although as I'm mastering her moves I'm liking them more and the rav set isn't to bad at lvl 30)
Anyway I'm trying to farm some armor my bartz is 70, and I'm on chapter 6 in story mode(I'm thinking this may matter), lighting's third round(counting Ch0), I have set the npc from 30-60 going in 5 lvl increments and reloading their armor for about 5 fights before moving on to the next lvl increment. Not a single one wears gear higher then lvl 1, wtf is going on? Do I have to beat story mode to actually get armor in this one? I'm at the point of about throwing my psp into the wall, I got a lot of ***going on in my personal life and this game was the best thing about my birthday in the last 6 years but its quickly becoming the opposite of stress relief. *edit- This is an explanation to the tone I may be portraying of anger which I'm trying not to.

Skip cutscenes and then watch them later in the museum while I'm taking a dump is what I did >.> *in reference to powering through/skipping cutscenes not the 012 part as i'm not that far*
You're trying to advance too fast in this game Luces. Just go through everything first. They reduced the amount of gil you get from fights drastically, so a lot of gil is obtained through all the story chapters.
Armor now is Lv1 Lv30 Lv60 Lv90 I believe. No more getting armor every two levels, which is a good thing imo.
So before I boot Dissidia 012 I'd like to know if there is a bonus for completing the demo 100%? Haven't had to time to do that, but I will if I'm gonna miss something in the full game.

Nah, you just get all the Chocobo Colognes that you would get for completing all the Arcades with each character.
You can just hop into the full game without any loss.
I didn't struggle with anyone's fights ._. Except maybe Tifa. Lost once.
The hell are you guys doing wrong!
Failing to properly gear all my characters and failing at having the proper foresight to know what will happen next? Also, most of my characters were and still are around level 16 or so. I skipped the extra dungeons in almost all of the chapters.
The level shouldn't be an issue. As a matter of fact, the area KP bonus would be raped if you were the same level. All gear is the same 1-30, and the base stat differences aren't big enough to get your *** beat, especially 3~4 levels off.
The damn brown manikins give me more of an issue than Chaos members.
I got Mandy and Bahamut as early as possible. I mainly focused on getting Rosetta Stones everyone has at least 5 Acc slots, with Bartz and Zidane having max. Saving a bunch for Prishe.
I want my PuPu back =(
I did get that summon that swaps BRV after 15 seconds. 9999? Gimmie dat Mr. Chaos (about to fight him in the 013 main story).

it is somewhat easy to beat laguna's boss fight
(tho i had trouble on his last fight, since it was lvl 14 vs 26)
went back to a blue portal, and one shotted the gold manikins with his satellite bomb thing. rinsed-repeated till i got 24. then the boss was cake.
and I also havebees pending all my KP on rosseta stones. Yuna, Tifa, Zidane and Terra now have all slots unlocked :x
New Mechanics
The mechanics of the battle system include "EX Mode" and "Assist." EX Mode functions exactly the same as the first game by collecting EX Cores around the battle map to fill up the gauge and transform the character into a more powerful state, which allows players to perform a powerful EX Burst attack should an HP attack land during EX Mode. The Assist system is a new element to the game which allows the player to summon an additional ally into battle to either assist in attacking the enemy or defend from an oncoming attack. It is performed using the Assist Gauge, which is built up by using Bravery Attacks.
Both modes are supposed to balance each other, because when an EX Burst is executed, the opponent's Assist Gauge is reduced to zero.
The three main countering systems are Assist Breaks, EX Breaks and EX Revenge. An EX Break is performed by stopping an opponent's EX Mode through the use of an Assist attack which forces the opponent out of EX Mode, additionally passing the opponent's Bravery points to the player. An Assist Break is performed by attacking the opponent's Assist character, causing him/her to be unable to call out the Assist character for a brief period; this also passes the opponent's Bravery points to the character. Lastly, EX Revenge occurs when trying to activate EX Mode while being attacked. While in the first game it would simply halt the opponent's attack, it now slows down time allowing the player to pummel the opponent instead, though it sacrifices the player's ability to use an EX Burst as it uses up the entire EX Gauge.
The biggest change is within the single-player story mode of the game, taking place on a traditional-styled Final Fantasy world map, with players being able to experience a story while exploring a world with scenarios and events taking place as the story progresses. Players will traverse the 3D world map with three-character parties, with players being able to interact in conversations with the characters. When roaming the map, players will encounter enemies known as "Manikins"; when attacked by an enemy, players will be transported to a battle map where battles will take place. There will be shops on the map which are specially marked. The story mode is also party based, similar to the story progression of Final Fantasy VI. In certain scenarios, parties will be predetermined, but in most cases players are free to select their own party. Alongside the game's new story mode, the game will also include the first game's story which will be remade with the 3D world map as well as additional elements added for the new storyline. Tetsuya Nomura, producer and character designer for the game, has said that both storylines played together would result in approximately 60 hours of gameplay
