To everyone that has got the full game:
I just finished Prologus and... well I was quite disappointed with this "unique scenario featuring Lightning that will recount the events leading to those seen in DISSIDIA 012".
Is the real deal's storyline of the same poor quality or were the demo folks just being lazy?
If your looking for indepth story, you best go somewhere else.
The story in the full game is actually pretty good, and does a great job explaining 013 (first Dissidia) and filling in any holes that you may have been confused about.

I don't need an in depth story, but Prologus had virtually nothing interesting to offer so it had me wondering if that's what I should expect from the full game :P

Havent gotten this yet, sadly. Really looking forward to it!
STUPID QUESTION TIME
WHO is the character under Gabranth and to Terra's left on the cover?
Vaan is already pictured, as is Gabranth and pretty much every other character. Is it Rekks? o.o;

Tidus
Sonuva....
Didnt notice he wasn't pictured until you told me this >.>
And yeah I see it now, that's definately Tidus <.<
Everyone got a 2nd Alt costume. Jecht, Cloud, Terra, and Tidus's just show already since they swapped sides. Well, not swapped sides - they're on their original side. I guess they got new clothes once each one changed teams, but yeah. Merely alt costumes.

Yeah I see they gave Terra her original hair color back and not that blonde bullsh*t.
I can, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. After you beat...I wanna say the first (Cloud) or second (Onion Knight) story , it'll unlock the needed report that'll consist of Prishe's and Gilgamesh's fight to unlock them. You'll have to use Shantotto for Prishe and Bartz for Gilgamesh.
It might be available after you beat 012. I can't quite remember, but I'mma re-finish 013 before I get Prishe and Gilgamesh.
wow FU SE, making us play the same fking game as the first, i dont wanna play 013....not only do the nerf equip and getting equip they nerf you on getting ANY item/summon bc of fagget KP system. On top of that Labrynth sucks, can't even grind prish.
I got Prishe to 76 :o Go go EXPx5/Magic Pot/Chocobo Wing vs Lv100 Tidus >_>
I can't do this >_> I have to level them up regularly. I might as well transfer all my levels over.
I like the KP system >_> I might get summons slower, but I sure as hell get Rosetta Stones easier. I hated the way to get Rosetta Stones in the first one.
Also, they make you re-do it because not everyone who has this had the first one. Gotta consider new players. It honestly doesn't take long to finish 013. As for the gimping - that's why I didn't transfer levels; I'd practically have to be a low-level again anyway xD
When the hell do I actually get to play the storyline? I never enter story mode with a charter under 30 with almost all abilities mastered because AP gets way to far behind(in the first one at least), and I'm really getting tired of this, NO you have to play as, because we don't give a ***about you, Lighting, now Vaan, now Leguna, I'm guessing that Yuna, Tifa, and Kain are next? I really would like to progress to the part where I can pick my storyline and play as the characters. I want to play, but this *** is pissing me off to the point where I am feeling very little want to do the story mode because I'm just going to having to play as people I don't care about. Nor has anything happened so far in the first 3 chapters(counting 0) that is important to the storyline except that one thing in Vaans story. Well I ever get to play this game or will I have to continue to level characters that I had/have no interest in playing/leveling yet the entire game? If so then this storymode sucks deep *** in the bad way.
Seeing that this game is all about the new characters and why they aren't in 013, yes, you will have to play as them. There are 8 chapters. You had to play as other characters to complete their stories as well in the first one ._. this shouldn't be new to you, unless you didn't play that one.
I don't know how you guys can limit yourselves to so little amount of characters. I enjoy playing as everyone except Exdeath since CPUs simply aren't aggressive enough for him to be really fun.
Either suck it up and deal with it or quit story mode. You won't unlock Prishe and Gilgamesh until you do though, iirc.
I HATED playing Vaan... Expecially Vaan vs Vaan. Dont think ive ever had to redo so many fights... Laguna on the other hand was fun, flew right through his part.
Really? I love Vaan. Once you get the hang of his different weapons and swapping effects, you can go untouched in matches. His Torrent HP move was what ended fights for me fast. Use it right in front of an enemy and it'll uppercut and stun them, forcing them to get hit by the water.
I really hate how CPUs anticipate feint attacks with Tifa, too. They'll still block/dodge when you use feint. You basically have to get lucky that they try to attack in advance, then sneak it on them.
Against people I'm sure it's more effective, but eh.
She's really stiff, too. All her attacks are just a one-two punch/kick.
New Mechanics
The mechanics of the battle system include "EX Mode" and "Assist." EX Mode functions exactly the same as the first game by collecting EX Cores around the battle map to fill up the gauge and transform the character into a more powerful state, which allows players to perform a powerful EX Burst attack should an HP attack land during EX Mode. The Assist system is a new element to the game which allows the player to summon an additional ally into battle to either assist in attacking the enemy or defend from an oncoming attack. It is performed using the Assist Gauge, which is built up by using Bravery Attacks.
Both modes are supposed to balance each other, because when an EX Burst is executed, the opponent's Assist Gauge is reduced to zero.
The three main countering systems are Assist Breaks, EX Breaks and EX Revenge. An EX Break is performed by stopping an opponent's EX Mode through the use of an Assist attack which forces the opponent out of EX Mode, additionally passing the opponent's Bravery points to the player. An Assist Break is performed by attacking the opponent's Assist character, causing him/her to be unable to call out the Assist character for a brief period; this also passes the opponent's Bravery points to the character. Lastly, EX Revenge occurs when trying to activate EX Mode while being attacked. While in the first game it would simply halt the opponent's attack, it now slows down time allowing the player to pummel the opponent instead, though it sacrifices the player's ability to use an EX Burst as it uses up the entire EX Gauge.
The biggest change is within the single-player story mode of the game, taking place on a traditional-styled Final Fantasy world map, with players being able to experience a story while exploring a world with scenarios and events taking place as the story progresses. Players will traverse the 3D world map with three-character parties, with players being able to interact in conversations with the characters. When roaming the map, players will encounter enemies known as "Manikins"; when attacked by an enemy, players will be transported to a battle map where battles will take place. There will be shops on the map which are specially marked. The story mode is also party based, similar to the story progression of Final Fantasy VI. In certain scenarios, parties will be predetermined, but in most cases players are free to select their own party. Alongside the game's new story mode, the game will also include the first game's story which will be remade with the 3D world map as well as additional elements added for the new storyline. Tetsuya Nomura, producer and character designer for the game, has said that both storylines played together would result in approximately 60 hours of gameplay
