Onto 013 now. A lot less boring with the new world map system. I'm just figuring out how to break the craters .__________. looks like I'll be going back to 012 after 013 to get that stuff.
I only use her RAV to put a Watera on the field. I pretty much sit in COM though. No one is gonna neglect someone long enough for MED to be useful.
I honestly just dislike Kain, but I can tolerate using him. It's a pain killing things without an Assist - his HP attacks are predictable and has nothing to distract to land one. At least Squall has magic.
Yuna is pretty damn awesome, but again, killing things can be somewhat annoying early on.
Laguna is flat-out fun as hell to use. Nothing BUT distractions to land HP attacks, lol.
Tifa...meh. She's okay, a little boring.
Vaan is pretty fun, but you'll spend a lot of time remembering which moves require timing and which ones require charging and stuff.
Lightning at higher levels is better though, at least from her moveset in Prologus. I'd be more shifty between COM and RAV. But in the beginning, just stick to COM and Watera.
How is it that everyone hates Kain. I LOVE Kain. I also love Laguna he is so much fun. Kain has some really solid moves. I think the higher the level the more fun and better he becomes since he can go up or down in an HP attack.

you mean breaking the craters on the world map? Just attack them, but hit your attack button more than once. Like, for example, if you were on Yuna, hitting Circle sends on Ifrit for a swipe, hitting it again, while Ifrit is out, makes him swipe again, breaking the craters.
New gear only comes in Lv1 30 60 90 & 100? And do i gotta beat game once to unlock Jukebox/Labrynth?
new gear comes at whatever level (if it's anything like it's predecesor), and god knows about jukebox and labyrinth, I gotta wait till friday 'til it comes out in the UK.
I have a questioin with Lightning, her EX Burst, is it possible to do with Directional Buttons, because... my analog stick is stuffed, and this is after 2 cleaning attempts, and I know buying a new analog stick is cheap, but I don't like waiting >_>;
I would rather just use her EX Burst with the directional buttons, but so far, seems impossible :(
I got mine today but I'm disapointed that equiped items don't transfer over. All those hours of getting those final/ultimate weapons is gone, the thought of doing it all over again makes Moogles cry ;_;
Teeeefa should have bigger boobs too.

I think they did the gear thing the way they did now is because if you were to fight an enemy like 5+ levels higher than you, you were pretty much ***. BRV attacks would do ***damage and they would break you in seconds. This way, the gap is a merely dependent on base stats as long as you are between those gear gaps.
Also, I've found that Kuja's Seraphic Star is kinda broken now, all you have to do is throw the star NEAR your opponent and it'll either drag them in or chase them down...AND you can move while you throw it.
To everyone that has got the full game:
I just finished Prologus and... well I was quite disappointed with this "unique scenario featuring Lightning that will recount the events leading to those seen in DISSIDIA 012".
Is the real deal's storyline of the same poor quality or were the demo folks just being lazy?
New Mechanics
The mechanics of the battle system include "EX Mode" and "Assist." EX Mode functions exactly the same as the first game by collecting EX Cores around the battle map to fill up the gauge and transform the character into a more powerful state, which allows players to perform a powerful EX Burst attack should an HP attack land during EX Mode. The Assist system is a new element to the game which allows the player to summon an additional ally into battle to either assist in attacking the enemy or defend from an oncoming attack. It is performed using the Assist Gauge, which is built up by using Bravery Attacks.
Both modes are supposed to balance each other, because when an EX Burst is executed, the opponent's Assist Gauge is reduced to zero.
The three main countering systems are Assist Breaks, EX Breaks and EX Revenge. An EX Break is performed by stopping an opponent's EX Mode through the use of an Assist attack which forces the opponent out of EX Mode, additionally passing the opponent's Bravery points to the player. An Assist Break is performed by attacking the opponent's Assist character, causing him/her to be unable to call out the Assist character for a brief period; this also passes the opponent's Bravery points to the character. Lastly, EX Revenge occurs when trying to activate EX Mode while being attacked. While in the first game it would simply halt the opponent's attack, it now slows down time allowing the player to pummel the opponent instead, though it sacrifices the player's ability to use an EX Burst as it uses up the entire EX Gauge.
The biggest change is within the single-player story mode of the game, taking place on a traditional-styled Final Fantasy world map, with players being able to experience a story while exploring a world with scenarios and events taking place as the story progresses. Players will traverse the 3D world map with three-character parties, with players being able to interact in conversations with the characters. When roaming the map, players will encounter enemies known as "Manikins"; when attacked by an enemy, players will be transported to a battle map where battles will take place. There will be shops on the map which are specially marked. The story mode is also party based, similar to the story progression of Final Fantasy VI. In certain scenarios, parties will be predetermined, but in most cases players are free to select their own party. Alongside the game's new story mode, the game will also include the first game's story which will be remade with the 3D world map as well as additional elements added for the new storyline. Tetsuya Nomura, producer and character designer for the game, has said that both storylines played together would result in approximately 60 hours of gameplay
