I heard Squall's had a few buffs which I'm looking forward to explore. Primarily the draw in on aerial circle.
A lot of moves seem to have a draw-in effect on them now which is good.
From videos of Squall alone, I haven't seen him use anything new.
BUT his slice move (I cannot remember the name to save my life) now follows the target until it actually goes off, as you can see from the video. Before, you were pretty much *** if the opponent listed lazily to the left.

Slice move as in Blasting Zone? the...big beam of light sword thingy
and holy crap, I beat arcade mode hard with Kefka at last...I suck at using the clown. Now just Jecht and Garland to go
Here's hoping that they do add the possibility of Japanese voices as an option... because Prishe's English voice annoys me :(
Because I'm in a lazy mode, has anything been said about Online Play/using Ad Hoc Party for duodecim? If so... that means I'll probably have to balance playing the English, and Japanese versions... because I do enjoy playing everyone, from all over the world D:

No, his one in the air. Blasting Zone doesn't slice at all xD
I was talking about Rough Divide. His magic barrels also got a buff.

I find her English voice more fitting since she's still a kid after all. I'm pretty sure 012 is fully online because in GameInformer it talks about improvements in 012 and talks about fighting other people, "which is easier this time around since multi-player is no longer local-only."
Jecht was by far the most annoying one for me -.- I can't combo with him for ***. I had to retry Golbez fights so many times...I hate that guy so much.
Just Garland to go now which isn't too bad cuz even though he's slow, he has a lot of power behind his hits so just takes some timing.
Kefka was pretty simple once I did up+O followed by O (his fire thingy that homes on the opponent followed by his ice magic that hits and blows up into smaller pieces) CPU tries to dodge so many times til they're eventually caught in one or both attacks..then havoc wing :3
As for Jecht...fml is all I gotta say. I even loaded up the first Dissidia to try and learn his combos but yeah no..that sucked.
Bit of a request... But do you guys mind leaving spoilers out of this thread until after the 30th or so? I mean I'll have it on the 25th, but I want it to be surprising.

or spoiler tag them at least.
I doubt I'll even talk about it xD
I already spoiled on why Jecht is Cosmos and turned Chaos on the wiki ._.
I find Aya Hirano's voice much more fitting, I don't hate her battle "grunts" if you will, actually, upon closer re-examination, I don't find her voice annoying per-say.
Actaually, I'll re-iterate how I feel about it, for an English voice, Prishe's voice makes sense, I do feel that Prishe has a confident, strong personality, and her Japanese voice mimics that. As does her English voice, but in a different kind of way, that is to say, that Aya Hirano's voice, wouldn't really work (lets say if she spoke English)
So, I'm going to say, both voices work for their respective language, after re-examining her English voice, at first thinking it was too high pitch, but surely, getting used to it, and understanding that, it does make sense for it to be so.
In the end, if they did add Japanese voices though, yes, I would turn them on for the most part [after the story playthrough, as I've already heard it in Japanese], because, I just prefer it as a whole, not to mention it helps with studying Japanese >_>;
Still Garland and Kefka left...i stink with both :(
For Garland, I just did guard/HP attack all the way through sides for like Terra/Kefka. I'd use assist to force them to dodge and pop at an HP move as assist goes off.
Kefka is oddly easy for me >.> But my second character in Dissidia was Terra so they're "kinda" similar.
Also! also also also also also! I SO wanna do this fight sometime. I know it's players vs player, but I'd KILL for a fight like this!
Watching that video now. That's actually a pretty awesome idea. I'd love to be a part of that.
Every time I see Prishe, I***. She's 100% going to be my main character.
Cloud is just so...simple to me. I'm really good with him, but I don't really like using him since it's so bland fighting as him. My favorite to fight actual people with has to be Kefka and Kuja because I can *** with their heads so much xD
New Mechanics
The mechanics of the battle system include "EX Mode" and "Assist." EX Mode functions exactly the same as the first game by collecting EX Cores around the battle map to fill up the gauge and transform the character into a more powerful state, which allows players to perform a powerful EX Burst attack should an HP attack land during EX Mode. The Assist system is a new element to the game which allows the player to summon an additional ally into battle to either assist in attacking the enemy or defend from an oncoming attack. It is performed using the Assist Gauge, which is built up by using Bravery Attacks.
Both modes are supposed to balance each other, because when an EX Burst is executed, the opponent's Assist Gauge is reduced to zero.
The three main countering systems are Assist Breaks, EX Breaks and EX Revenge. An EX Break is performed by stopping an opponent's EX Mode through the use of an Assist attack which forces the opponent out of EX Mode, additionally passing the opponent's Bravery points to the player. An Assist Break is performed by attacking the opponent's Assist character, causing him/her to be unable to call out the Assist character for a brief period; this also passes the opponent's Bravery points to the character. Lastly, EX Revenge occurs when trying to activate EX Mode while being attacked. While in the first game it would simply halt the opponent's attack, it now slows down time allowing the player to pummel the opponent instead, though it sacrifices the player's ability to use an EX Burst as it uses up the entire EX Gauge.
The biggest change is within the single-player story mode of the game, taking place on a traditional-styled Final Fantasy world map, with players being able to experience a story while exploring a world with scenarios and events taking place as the story progresses. Players will traverse the 3D world map with three-character parties, with players being able to interact in conversations with the characters. When roaming the map, players will encounter enemies known as "Manikins"; when attacked by an enemy, players will be transported to a battle map where battles will take place. There will be shops on the map which are specially marked. The story mode is also party based, similar to the story progression of Final Fantasy VI. In certain scenarios, parties will be predetermined, but in most cases players are free to select their own party. Alongside the game's new story mode, the game will also include the first game's story which will be remade with the 3D world map as well as additional elements added for the new storyline. Tetsuya Nomura, producer and character designer for the game, has said that both storylines played together would result in approximately 60 hours of gameplay
