I *** hate Jecht -.- His stupid combos chain together too well! Also, anyone else having trouble with dodging HP attacks during a chase? >_> It seems faster to me

Yup, the first couple times I had a chase sequence I'd wait a little bit to hit O like I did in the first game and....nothing happened. Then I realized oh ***...this is a lot faster now o_o
Can't dodge for ***D:
Edit: I'm friggin loving Warrior of Light's Ultimate Shield and uh..radiant swords(?) that attack with him during Ex Mode.
Also, going to love Prishe even more now. Jecht is my second favorite character to use (outside of Cloud of Darkness) and Prishe is similar.
I like Lightning, pretty basic.
Kain is like Squall - good BRV attacks, but landing an HP attack will be a pain on CPUs at a high difficulty.
And for the Chase thing, it does seem a bit faster. Not only that, but CPUs are a lot smarter now and fight just like we would in a Chase (i.e: doing all decisions instantly) making it difficult to adjust to an actual challenge xD
Not knowing what Prologus is like, I do have the Japanese game, and, I'm not sure... but HP Attacks during Chases seem a lot slower in the Japanese Game, that is, they take longer to charge up after pressing Square, but, the Brave Attacks, come so quick... so it's either, suffer the brave attack and press X to dodge straight away when the chase happens, or take a guess, and hope they're using a HP Attack. Not sure if its the same in the English version, but that's how I feel in the Japanese version.
Also, Prishe is bawss, I love using Combos... and, that's all she has >:D Kain will probably end up being my 2nd Main, just because he's OP. Surprisingly Yuna is really good too, and Lightning does pretty well off but her Mage-mode doesn't really do it for me. I don't really like Laguna, I don't like ranged attackers generally, and Tifa is just... bad >_>; Oh, and Gilgamesh is hilarious, especially in EX Mode.
Has it been said who is doing Prishe's voice for the English version of the game? Because Hirano does it perfectly in the Japanese version... I personally can't hear her in any other voice now >_>;
I honestly don't think it's the speed that was increased - I just think none of us are used to CPUs reacting so fast in a Chase. No matter the difficulty in the first Dissidia, CPUs always took a second to do what they decide to do after one second. Now, the second they get into Chase, they do something, throwing us all off. If they have a chance to one-shot me, I never go into Chase xD I'm scared shitless now.
I really don't care for the voice of Prishe - I have no complaints about English VAs for Dissidia. If anything I like more English ones than Japanese ones. Jecht's JP VA makes me cringe every time.

Good point about the chase, I think that makes more sense for the Brave Attacks, but the HP Attacks still seem to take longer to "Charge up" *shrugs* I'm with you though, If I have a choice to go into chase, I usually don't unless they're close to breaking :X
I like most of the English and Japanese Voices, I really prefer Japanese for some though, like Lightning and Exdeath, whereas I prefer English for some, like Onion Knight and Zidane, but I guess we'll have to see D:
I hope my game gets here soon after coming out... I ordered the American version, so I can play with American friends, seeing as my friends here don't have a PSP >_>;
*Afterthought* They should implement Japanese voices in the English game... they won't though, because if they haven't, it's already too late - and it will probably just be a pain in the neck... but who knows... one can dream... right?
I can't wait to read the story in English too... it's fine in Japanese, but there are a few things I didn't understand (my Japanese is far from perfect) and even though I normally detest replaying things I just finished a month or so earlier... it was surprisingly fun in comparison to the first game D:
I like the whole world map idea, and additional dungeons that you can enter for more EXP/items and yeah... being a completionist sucks in this game... because half of the main story, for a completionist, is additional dungeons, but it was worth it :X
Her level 50 moveset is pretty cool but I prefer the HP attack where she lunges forward in the air. Iono what's it's called cuz I'm in the middle of the 30 round battle.
I was doing the 30 man fight with Jecht (I hate him. I can't figure out how to chain is attacks for the life of me.) and get to Bartz as final one... Anyway, was landing last HP attack on him and my battery died. So I rage quited for the night >_>
Idk what the colognes will do, but the untitled accomplishments are Cloud. You unlock him after completing certain arcade modes. The ones I had dome, in order, were Lightning - Kain - WOL - Sephiroth - Jecht and then he was unlocked.
Oh snap, do want. Why they nerf evasion time :( Hard arcade or? cause i have all chars cleared on normal and Jecht cleared all hard fights, working on lightning but RVG sux...i just stick to COM
Basicly Nate. There use to be like a pause thing in the first one that gave you a few seconds to register what the attack would be, but now it's way faster. I'm getting kinda use to it though~ Cleared the game today!
New Mechanics
The mechanics of the battle system include "EX Mode" and "Assist." EX Mode functions exactly the same as the first game by collecting EX Cores around the battle map to fill up the gauge and transform the character into a more powerful state, which allows players to perform a powerful EX Burst attack should an HP attack land during EX Mode. The Assist system is a new element to the game which allows the player to summon an additional ally into battle to either assist in attacking the enemy or defend from an oncoming attack. It is performed using the Assist Gauge, which is built up by using Bravery Attacks.
Both modes are supposed to balance each other, because when an EX Burst is executed, the opponent's Assist Gauge is reduced to zero.
The three main countering systems are Assist Breaks, EX Breaks and EX Revenge. An EX Break is performed by stopping an opponent's EX Mode through the use of an Assist attack which forces the opponent out of EX Mode, additionally passing the opponent's Bravery points to the player. An Assist Break is performed by attacking the opponent's Assist character, causing him/her to be unable to call out the Assist character for a brief period; this also passes the opponent's Bravery points to the character. Lastly, EX Revenge occurs when trying to activate EX Mode while being attacked. While in the first game it would simply halt the opponent's attack, it now slows down time allowing the player to pummel the opponent instead, though it sacrifices the player's ability to use an EX Burst as it uses up the entire EX Gauge.
The biggest change is within the single-player story mode of the game, taking place on a traditional-styled Final Fantasy world map, with players being able to experience a story while exploring a world with scenarios and events taking place as the story progresses. Players will traverse the 3D world map with three-character parties, with players being able to interact in conversations with the characters. When roaming the map, players will encounter enemies known as "Manikins"; when attacked by an enemy, players will be transported to a battle map where battles will take place. There will be shops on the map which are specially marked. The story mode is also party based, similar to the story progression of Final Fantasy VI. In certain scenarios, parties will be predetermined, but in most cases players are free to select their own party. Alongside the game's new story mode, the game will also include the first game's story which will be remade with the 3D world map as well as additional elements added for the new storyline. Tetsuya Nomura, producer and character designer for the game, has said that both storylines played together would result in approximately 60 hours of gameplay
