Anyone know how a ATI Radeon 5770 benches? (High + Low if possible)

not sure about the benchmark, but im running it max everything, with a 5770, and the game runs flawless with alittle messing with the overclock. even in double resolution :D

i have no benchmarking radeon 5770 , i have it and the game runs smoothly with not a single lag even on crowded areas, it's a really good card i run the game using 1280x800 windowed anti alias x4 , normal settings for the rest

people playing with more than 720p textures and high shadow detail its just exaggeration, on top of that they use anti alias X16 (you cant tell the difference) with all that AA it will lag the game and fry your card, if you push it with meaningless/barely noticeable options ,unless you have a bigger monitor (more than 21 inches) it's reasonable to go higher on textures resolutions, but there is not need to use 1080p texture settings for the game specially if you are using windowed mode, people complains about performance but it's because they use useless options

tip: i don't recommend to new comers to get any nvidia card (if you are planing to upgrade for the game) until they completely fix everything ,they seems to fail on performance for ff14 even if you get the most expensive one, radeons 5770 or higher outperforms on this game if you have 4gb of ram and quadcore core and they are cheap with tons of stream processors

sorry for the bad english

I OCed my CPU and GPU (Passed IntelBurn on Max for 5 runs, 24hour Prime95 for CPU. No Artifacts running stress tests and benchmarks on the 480, could probably push it farther), my results were:

So after restarting and plugging power cable in, my score has almost doubled. However still looks pathetic compared to the guy above, and i have I7 processor and 6gb ram. Is my graphics card really that bad?

This is very subjective. What you consider "fine" I would most likely consider running like crap. Unless you simply mean the game runs when you launch it...

I scored 2700 on high setting in the benchmark. For the retail game I have the resolution set to 1600x900 without any extra graphic settings enabled (No AA, Ambient Occulation, etc) and it runs smoothly most of the time. If I turn on basically any other graphics setting than the preset the game slows down and runs like crap (visual choppiness, obviously lower than 30FPS).

The visuals of the game do lag a bit in populated areas like cities or around camps on default settings.

Just take Katori's definition of "fine" with a grain of salt.

You have an i7 640M , (which is a laptop processor, can't really compare laptops to PCs either) isn't as good as a i7 930 especially while mine is overclocked to 3.5GHz. Not to mention I have an OEM system, built with components meant for overclocking (EVGA E760 Classified MOBO, 6Gb Ram @ 2000MHz).
The big difference in scores is my Graphics card (EVGA GTX 480) and the fact that it too is overclocked along with my CPU.

My stock Score on the benchmark (Meaning my CPU and GPU both at stock settings) was roughly 5000 (Ranged from 4954 - 5086 in 10 benchmarks). I've heard of Laptops being overclocked before but it wasn't recommended by a vast majority since your cooling options aren't there like a PC and your CPU would pretty much bur, however you can try downloading MSI Afterburner and try overclocking your GPU a bit just keep an eye on temperatures, it won't make a huge difference but at your score range it might be enough to see better performance. The difference on my clocks on my GPU to stock settings was roughly 400 benchmark points over a serious of 15 tests.

every time i tried to screen shot the dam thing wud close and not gimme my screenshot..dam fraps. but:

High: 6434
Low: 7026

Specs:
i7-2600k @ 4.4 GHZ, (2 way) SLI GTX 580 3GB (OC'd to 860 Mhz each), Asus Maximus IV Extreme Z mobo, 16GB Gskill X series RAM, Samsung 830 series SSD

wish this game would role SLI :(. Fraps also had it going between 140 and 190 FPS while benchmark was going, and well over 1000 frames on the the score picture which i thot was funny lol.

Game runs all max settings @ 60 FPS yet ambient occlusion still wont work ; ;.
