[Final Fantasy XIV Benchmark]

This is most likely using the beta code

See just how well FINAL FANTASY XIV will run on your computer. This official benchmark software uses actual maps and characters to assign a score to your PC and rate its performance.

Choose your Character’s Race!
Select from any of FINAL FANTASY XIV’s five races for the character appearing in the benchmark.

High Definition Display Support
In addition to the standard 1280x720 pixel display, the benchmark also supports a 1920x1080 high definition display. Enjoy every crisp detail of the gorgeous world of Eorzea.
5.1 Channel Surround Sound
5.1 channel surround sound completes the experience, wrapping players in the stirring music and the atmospheric effects of FINAL FANTASY XIV.
Multilingual Support
Features Japanese, English, German, and French.

Depending on your system’s resident software and hardware, it is possible that FINAL FANTASY XIV may not run optimally, even if your computer meets the minimum system requirements. We therefore recommend using this benchmark software to check your system before purchasing the product.
Note:
- This software is not a trial version.
- Please understand that you cannot play FINAL FANTASY XIV using this software. Also, note that you must read and agree to the terms and conditions before downloading the software.

Launch the benchmark software and select the language to display.
The Software License Agreement will appear. Read the contents carefully and if you accept the terms of the agreement, click Agree.
The following window will be displayed.
1. Select the character to appear from any of FINAL FANTASY XIV’s five races (or select random).
*The character’s face type and other details cannot be customized in the benchmark.
2. Select the resolution to apply to the benchmark software.
3. You can alter the displayed language even after launching the benchmark software.
4. Click START to run the benchmark. The benchmark will run according to the settings configured in steps 1 through 3. The resultant frame rate and score will be displayed.
* The benchmark cut scene will run for about two minutes.
* If you mark the Loop checkbox, playback will repeat. The benchmark can be stopped at any time by pressing your keyboard’s Esc key.

The Benchmark Score and Data
Starting the benchmark will cause a cut scene to play. Once the cut scene has completed, a score will be displayed. The score represents how well FINAL FANTASY XIV is estimated to run on your PC. Please use the explanations of the scores outlined below for reference.
Please note that the score does not guarantee that your system will run FINAL FANTASY XIV. Please use it for reference only.
A cut scene will play during the benchmarking.
The score and frame rate will be displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen.
After the benchmark has completed, your PC’s specs and score will be displayed on the right side of the screen.

[8000 and over] Extremely High Performance

Also, A preview of the new rebuilt combat system. The Current battle system from Alpha has been scrapped, and a new, more fluid battle system is now in it's place. The improvement over both the original FFXIV system, and FFXI's is quite dramatic.

Doubtful, I think the new system will be available in Beta, but not alpha, which I believe is actually coming to a conclusion fairly soon?

Also, I scored 1970 on the Benchmark. This is what you would call the "Minimum" specifications. However, I have custom settings on my graphics card, with everything cranked pretty much as high as they will go.

SE has been listening XD

Biggest critical and public complaint with the actual game (And not the instabilities that come with being an unstable alpha build) was sluggish combat.

Overall, this was the best thing I saw at E3, and it was played down. I had to dig pretty hard to find any FFXIV info. The Official E3 trailer is up too.

I'd like to believe my computer is pretty good. It's only been about a month and a half to two months since I built it from the ground up from scratch using relatively modern hardware.

And even I only scored 1950. I think the test was judging a little harshly because when I built my computer I was assured that it would be able to handle XIV on maximum graphics...

Here's a 60fps vid I made of the benchmark. Nice to see that SE didn't cap the game at 30fps on the PC like they did with XI.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=575DOI1E

My score was lowered by over 1000 points in the vid though due to running Fraps and capturing the 60fps video.

Assured by who?

Also, try a reset, I got my score up about 300points by restarting after. Also cleared up a lot of sound issues that was *** up the Spoken Dialog.

Probably your Graphics card. You got a better Processor than I do, not sure now much memory, doesn't say. But I think that's quite a dated card. Luckily that's an easy upgrade.

Yep, a GTS250 will probably run you around 150$ and bump that up to around the low to mid 2,000's. The area that's being assured as the "Minimum" for FFXIV.

Honestly, I think I'll just get a PS3 unless some boss new PC game is announced (The Elder Scrolls 5 WHAR AR U?!)

It reminds me more of the aforementioned single player RPG. The Elder Scrolls. Actions take up a portion of the ever charging "Action" bar. As long as you have enough to perform an action, you're free to do so. The only difference is in TES a single-player ActionRPG, you can still do ***with 0 Fatigue(ActionBar) everything you do is just gimped by about 99%

Still need to get my hands on it to know for certain though. FFXI isn't really known for engaging combat... so I think even a WoW step is a positive one. ( Painful though that is to admit)

That's because you have integrated graphics, which sadly is always total junk. You have a good CPU, all you need to do is get a decent real video card. you could get something that will run the game decently for under 100 euro.

I know the benchmark has the NVIDIA logo on it, but so far it looks like ATI cards are getting better scores.

It seems to be really CPU heavy too. The people with the highest scores I've seen have 8 and 12 core CPUs.
