I scored a 3870 on low settings. Not too bad but i didn't break 4000 like i wanted :(
Playing in a window on low res, I got a score of roughly 2100. 2100 is still 35 FPS and anything higher than 30, what does it matter? It's barely perceptible.

Common misconception used to justify shitty hardware.

It's not a "misconception" if it just happened on my screen right in front of me and I couldn't tell a difference.

BTW, I only have one GTX 275, I guess it's listed twice because I have dual monitors?

What did that Galka say?

I will test on my laptop tomorrow, it has a Intel Core i7-720QM ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730 - 1GB
Odd. My PC (2 years old now) is a Core2Quad Q9300, 4gigs ram and GTX 270 on Vistax64. I only got 1800 on high and 3000 on low.

"Make yerself useful, Scragg" Heh, I've seen that CS a few times, and of course it makes me think of you. Wondered what your reaction would be :p

I wonder how much Scragg had to bribe the localisation team to put that in there? ;p

I wasn't assuming you bought a prebuilt, just that you spent a lot more on your PC than you had to and now you're having trouble sustaining your giant e-rection.

Well I updated my video card drivers and downloaded the benchmark again since I deleted it the other day. This one wasn't plastered with the nvidia logo in the upper right.

I gained nearly 1000 points on the high res! I knew this game wasn't going to kick my computers *** that bad :D

Despite a large amount of reading forums and effort to try to get this to the program to start I can't seem to nail the reason it won't.

Problem: Crashes after a 2 sec black screen, saying FFXIV benchmark has stopped working, APPCRASH, in safe mode just a black screen for 10 secs before crash.

Windows 7 DirectX11
HIS Ati Radeon X1650 512 Meg 2.0 Gig Ram
FFXI runs like a champ on my PC so I can't see why this is not. I have run as admin, and uninstalled and reinstalled the new ATI cat software, and installed the new directx stuff from microsoft, I wanted to uninstall but seems thats a hard thing to do, now I get directx errors when trying to install the new software again, agghgghghh. The only thing left I can think of doing is fully uninstalling directx and trying again if I can find a proper way of doing so , but I'm also open to any help on a idea on how to get the benchmark to run.

similar setup, same problem. I'm thinking its the rolled back drivers used keep windower working on win7. the old benchmark software worked fine and said my computer was far past minimums needed

Well I think NVidia tries to be big on advertising there the best video card for gamers and back door deals are made for a better compatibility with their cards {"Like xbox paying SE to make a quick version of FFXI for the 360 without fully working out bugs and I hear xbox players complain about crashing all the time."} ,but I always been and will be a ATI person, in the past 3 years FFXI has only crashed once for me and I don't think it was a video card issue. In the past I used a few nvidia cards without the proper driver, and I installed a universal one that somehow made FFXI look like a grainy old floppy disk pc game, with blurred colors, it played great yet it looked like a 5 year old color drawing, I wish a saved SS of it, it was to funny.

Either way I think I'm giving up on the benchmark for now, I'm sure when the game comes out it should actually play, if not I'll just buy a new video card.

Scragg, if you could let me know the benchmark scores on you laptop that would be great. I'd have something to compare it to since those specs are the same as mine, (I believe mine is a 5730 as well, 1GB.)

I ran the benchmark and it was abysmal, I double checked and my laptop has a 47xx Radeon. :( I may need to update the drivers but I doubt it will help much. I think the score was around 1000 on high res. It should be playable at 720p.

Usually ATI release hotfixes to their drivers for games that perform poorly. battlefield bad company 2 would be the most recent example of this.

It's not a "misconception" if it just happened on my screen right in front of me and I couldn't tell a difference.

For people who are used to playing games at 60fps or higher, there is a notable difference. Buy yourself a 120hz lcd monitor and tell me you wont see a difference compared to the standard 30/60 ones.
