My friends account has a new mog garden and no monster rearing in it, so I tried to cancel that objective the gold disc went away but it didn't give me a new objective, so I dunno.

I suck at math, but if I'm correct in math the definition of "diminishing return" is a bit different from the way we commonly use it here on FFXI.
Maletaru's definition of STP increase being pretty linear is not wrong at all.
Altough I guess this doesn't take into consideration the factor of breakpoints. When you approach those breakpoints (meaning one less melee hit to reach >1000TP) even a single +1STP can generate a massive increase in DPS. So that in itself is tricky to define compared to STP additions away from breakpoints, which are indeed pretty linear.
In the case of DA+8% well... what I was trying to say is that for a job that has zero multiattack, that 8% DA roll is gonna be calculated every time.
For a job who has 40% TA, that 8% DA roll is gonna be calculated 60% of the times instead of 100%, i.e. each time TA doesn't proc.
So from this point of view the influence of that 8% to your overall dps will be of course inferior to what would be for a job with no other multiattack.
It still matters though, and thanks to the fact that the game processes Multiattack in an order that is usually beneficial for us players (TA before DA) the presence of DA will not hurt your TA rate.
It would've been different if DA was calculated before TA, but thankfully that's not how it is!

Yeah, I went and checked the promathia spoiler section on the jp wiki and it also includes that information about the zilart and promathia's body, crediting the ultimania.
The wiki also says the ultimania confirms Yve'noile as the zilartian princess, but on a more interesting note, it says that when Eald'narche is dying and he silently mouths something, that he's actually calling out to his big sister.
Also, apparently, if you actually clear promathia's story before ever killing Kam, Esha'ntarl has a line that basically spells out that Yve'noile was their sister. But almost no one does it in that order.

I don't know if the windower team was finally able to nail the issue or if this is simply a happy coincidence, but either way, thank you. We have not. there is a thread in the support channel on our discord for discussing the "console issue" the last attempted fix was changing how windower selects a font, which seemed to fix the issue for some people but not others.

Is the Wyvern Memento's "1% haste" magic haste, gear haste, or ja haste? Doesn't say on its BG wiki page.
equipment haste

It is because we are comparing two different states to each other and choosing which one is "better". To figure that out we need to know how much of an increase option A is, then figure out how much of an increase option B is, then pick the higher of the two. Relative gain is what we are looking for, and most values in FFXI have diminishing returns such that the value of any one amount is going to largely depend on how much of that amount you already have.

This comes up a lot in this game because they are a lot of linear or mostly linear stats that end up effectively muliplying each other and when that happens the more you have of one the more valuable the other becomes even if it is linear. So in this case the more multi attack you have the more valuable each point of store tp becomes, more hits = more tp gained from the store tp but the reverse is also true, the more store tp you have the more valuable each point of multi attack becomes.

the XI community has always misused the concept of diminishing returns. It's generally understood within the community that when someone says diminishing returns in XI discussion what they're actually saying is diminished relative gain.

I didnt get KI for my kill, but I'm also sitting on an incursion lvl up that I havent turned in. So it is possible you have to cant enter incursion at a level below yours for credit. I'm pretty sure someone in my party got credit whose KI was a higher level than mine (we entered using my KI).

Attack doesn't have a breakpoint at "get 1000 and hit the button to do huge damage". You're not factually wrong but it seems like sophistry to insist on this.
STP is literally the exact opposite of diminishing returns. It is a 100% linear return.
The only way it's not linear is if you look at the numbers in a completely bizarre way, which makes no sense.
Going from 1500 attack to 2000 attack is a 33.33% increase.
Going from 7500 attack to 8000 attack is a 6.66% increase.
That doesn't mean there are diminishing returns to attack. That is, fundamentally, not how the concept of diminishing returns works. Otherwise all math would fall apart.

When you hit 98, you talk to the guild master and he says "you need to make me a Saida Ring, signed.
After that, you will be able to buy "Way of the Alchemist" KI from the GP vendor (not before).

Carbuncle.Maletaru said: »You could argue that it's less relative to where you already are (like 5000 + 1 is less of a % increase overall) but that's just...how all stats work? Do people stop using attack because it's a lower % increase with every point of attack you gain on gear? Attack doesn't have a breakpoint at "get 1000 and hit the button to do huge damage". You're not factually wrong but it seems like sophistry to insist on this.

I encountered an interesting note in the Ultimania.
Why did the Kuluu become tonberries? In Rise of the Zilart, Graviton explains that it was because of the meltdown. The excess energy from the crystals mutated the creatures of Vana'diel. But in Chains of Promathia, Diabolos explains the Kuluu became the Tonberry as a result of having their emptiness purged.
The Ultimania states that both of these factors were involved in the making of the Tonberry. The Crystal's energy began mutating the races (Hence, the enlightened races and the Beastmen seen in modern Vana'diel). But because the Kuluu also had their emptiness purged from them (the part of a creature that makes it a person, whether that be enlightened race or beastmen), when they began mutating, they lost the humanity that characterizes the other races.
Nothing that couldn't be pieced together from the in-game cutscenes, but I thought the explanation was interesting nonetheless.

It would be better to have the guy who suggested this to have his PC checked by authorities…

ya I've seen no progress still on rank 7 where I started. I have leveled all my sub crafts to 70, taking advantage of the campaign. Unlocked mentor, did the titles from conquest items, now I'm finishing leveling all my jobs to 99 and probably do skill ups for a bit.
You'll know its not going well when I start doing monstrosity

maybe 5~7 minutes give or take having to empty out inventory multiple times to clear whatever the node spat out at me. I cant recall entirely so someone can correct me but i think it only matters how many times you gather, so for mineral vein this can be slightly random in how many times youll mine to clear the node that day. While everything else is a 1 and done per node if multiple.
For furrows harvests are what matter, so if you plant something that has multiple harvests each one should count. Efficiency wise revival roots are the way to go if you can repeatedly check back every hour to replant or just have a lot of bayld/gil to dump on grow m good, or the other that cuts it by half so its every 30 mins.
Monster rearing is pretty laid back, go in and interact with mob and feed it. When it hits 2? stars it can either evolve on its own or be prompted to by giving it a specific food, depends on the mob, cheers are up to you as far as usefulness, used to primarily like em for the CP bonuses but wyverns 1% haste of cactuars 2% mov speed are okayish, trust buffs are also nice but its whatever you prefer, once you get a cheer you have it, can switch at will and dont need to do any further upkeep of the mob

I will just leave my super shooter "Doggies vs Slugs" on Steam, and people gonna buy millions of copies over the years.
Thinking better, it will be a brand new genre:
The doggovania, that will change the gaming industry

As far as Mog Garden goes, and Monster Rearing, what's the length of time if you go in everyday again and do all the things?
How's the progression on Monster Rearing, and any opinions on best Monster bonus? Do those monster cheer bonuses require a daily upkeep too?
Do the x5 gathering options count as 5 instances of gathering towards the total needed for rank up, or nah?
Anything better than Revival Tree roots for quicker Furrow progress? I know Grow-M-Good can get you instant harvests, and for that matter, does a plant you can harvest multiple times before new seeds count as much progress as plants that don't?

Which would mean the wording is wrong I guess? Killing the boss not giving credit if you enter below your tier is a pretty big oversight on a 30pt daily I would think.
Just putting my observations out there is all I’m here for~
