You didn't mention Musa and Crocea Mors!

Oh sorry I was commenting Vyre list and forgot to post and now it doesn't look like it's connected :) Musa and Crocea were in right spots, so I havent mentioned them :)

Hi, thinking of moving to bahamut. Is EU presence high here?
By Akumasama on 2025-08-12 04:41:36
Not useless for a new player who's never been there before. Arrapago is really messy to navigate and you have to do it to unlock the Survival Guide to begin with.
Now if it is was worth it to add a new item just for that, and especially lock it behind the never-happening-***-besieged is a different story entirely.

All of that supposing it really DOES bring you there, which like Lili said sounds likely but who knows.

There is a single new item available:

"Arrapago Ring", cast_delay=30, cast_time=8, level=99, max_charges=1, recast_delay=72000,

"Enchantment: Teleport (Arrapago Reef)"
Sends you close to princess peach location, the Ashu Talif, I suppose?

There's a survival guide that warps you like a short walk off a cliff away. What a pointless ring.
By Lili on 2025-08-12 04:30:14
Dunno as I have no idea where to get it from (Besieged?) but it's likely imo.

Oh damn you might be right. I initially read it as a fix to Limbus' monsters DT, as Quick Draw for some reason wasn't been affected by that (I didn't even notice if that was the case) but you're probably right.

Not sure this was the right thing to do. Even if it was an error, fixing it after so many years, after people take for granted that it does work like that sounds... an awful decision.
Unless there are more Caturae-like (or mobs with elemental shields) coming in the next month patch.
But if that's the case they should've fixed it just for those mobs.
"Fixing" it for everything else after so many years sounds just wrong to me.

Supposing that's what they did! Someone go and test it please!

Rostam is definitely S. All 3 paths are bis COR weapons.
Setan is not S. It's almost never bis for anything. It's B at best.
Xiucoatl is A. It's bis auto damage weapon for 1hitWS(ranged) setups. Zomorro is B I would say. Path B is bis for BLU on Bumba and would be interesting for tp denial strategies in general and path C is situationaly useful too. Father time is not bad for tp denial fights and it's the best drain weapon if you don't drain with Dark Seal, so also at least B. Sagitta is cool for hp set, so C. Gand ring path C is amazing solo aoe weapon and amazing evasion weapons. It's an A. Pang path C is great for master/pet turtle setup, so C.

While we can't rule out anything in a game as old as this, it doesn't make much sense.
Monarch Linn was added in CoP and Al Zahbi in ToAU.
But yeah I guess "sense" doesn't always work in FFXI indeed.

At first glance I would say they're planning to do something with Monarch Linn. DI-like or whatever else would be cool but it seems too good to be true, not sure if I want to believe that only to be disappointed when absolutely nothing happens.

Path B is a "temu mythic".
Both are weaker than the respective Empy/Mythics aftermaths BUT you don't need to store up 3k TP or use shitty WSs to activate the effects, they are always up.
Plus they have much higher base damage, very good acc, HP+ and the specific boons of high STP or SBII.

Considering you can simply "buy" them on AH they can be pretty good honestly, especially if you have a lot of gil and not enough patience to farm Empy/Mythics.

But, and here I conclude my long post about it, I think it would be quite limiting to judge Divergence weapons just by the Path A and B ones. The few ones who are really good, is because of the uniqueness brought by the Path C.
Not all of them are good, but when they are, well... they become very interesting weapons, similar to the original role Mythics used to have back then (job specific enhancements).

Path B is not Temu Mythic, follow up attacks stack with other multi attack and sb2 can allow a lot more jobs to cap out subtle blow.

I use Path B on NIN a lot, it also comes with a great attack bonus

Al Zahbi it makes sense, for Besieged, but Monarch Linn?! Why?
I guess they're planning something for Monarch Linn, or are they?

Either some Domain Invasion thing (there's Ouryu there after all) or they share a server with Al Zhabi for some reason and it was easier to turn the flag for both than trying to wrangle them separate.

Or it's a typo.

If no one had ever seen it happening, then it wouldn't have been brought up as a problem last year

Lmao!
This is an incredibly funny -and effective- way to sum up things on Divergence weapons xD

Path A is basically a "temu empy" and Path B is a "temu mythic".
Both are weaker than the respective Empy/Mythics aftermaths BUT you don't need to store up 3k TP or use shitty WSs to activate the effects, they are always up.
Plus they have much higher base damage, very good acc, HP+ and the specific boons of high STP or SBII.

So to use a different wording to say the same thing we could argue that Dokoku is a pretty underwhelming Prime but because all other Katana options (except hybrids) are even worse, it feels slightly better than it would otherwise!

Sadly (or thankfully?) NIN is on Naegling so... we know how to end the sentence lol.

Only very small fix I would make to Nariont's excellent post is that while Shun is indeed mediocre (and it's a shame, sigh), Metsu is NOT that bad honestly, with R15 Relic of course.
Zesho Meppo is still better of course and Heishi Shorinken's Blade: ten has better potential/scaling but especially in lowmen situations Metsu is not that bad at all.

Incoming ***post full of hot takes, and uhh... reasons I don't remember. Nice of the site to show me my votes though, so I can finally fully shitpost properly!

Some admissions:

Dynamis Divergence weapons were a category I didn't want to actually rank, because most of them just come off as Temu Empys. And I was tired of voting by making an entire list by that point, so I kind of phoned it in.

I put Doji in A tier, because the tier maker misspelled it with an A at the end for some reason. :^)

so we've heard a lot about 2h primes and mpu gandring, how about the rest of the 1h and h2h primes. I remember early info about katana was pretty underwhelming, is that still the case?

katana is like all the primes the best phys ws for its weapon and if you take out savage blade its their best phys ws period. I believe it also largely replaces both shun and kamu on the light side which is 2 of katana more mediocre WS so that's a nice plus. Still its a katana WS, so its kinda underwhelming and coulda really used an ftp or wsc bump(as is the case for basically all the non-hybrid katana WS)

I guess the next question is, did anyone even see any bots doing this? Like, standing at the alchemy guild?
On Asura, I often saw bots at the alchemy guild, probably doing this. Good riddance, lets see what they find next.

I saw a bunch of new accounts entering the guild, buying something and leaving.

Is Tem ??? Targetable for people?

Whenever I click it, the same bug from launch seems to exist where I get no points.

"The issue wherein you are unable to obtain a Temenos Unit or Apollyon Unit from the "???" under certain conditions."

Hopefully is finally fixed, is sad to miss out on Temenos' free points

We used to have a shitload of tarus named bndsfhjkgbnjkdfnbgjkdnbjgkh who were in the alchemy guild in packs of 6. Never paid attention to what they were crafting.
By Zenion on 2025-08-12 01:08:47
Weirdly, whenever I saw alchemy bots standing around the guild, they were doing one of the status inflicting potions. I forget which one; I want to say paralyze potion maybe? I remember thinking "what's the point", since the ingredients sell for about the same as the finished product.

Maybe 5m, if you were 110 alc, HQ could spit out 8

81 Alchemy, including items and synthesis image support.

You'd be HQ'ing about 50% of the time. Average 4.5~5 Eye drops per set of mats.
