this is my main problem with XI.
yes yes, I know it is a dying game and dont have enough people "willing" to do the content you "want" to do, so have to PAY extra to get ***done.
-yes I know SE tried to address this with NPC companions
just a big contradicting practice, especially considering it was/is an mmo
and yes yes, before you ask.

Scaled up or not ifyou coordinate well enough a bigger group shouldn't be an issue.
that's a pretty big if though... coordination isn't exactly in sam's wheelhouse.

Scaled up or not if you coordinate well enough a bigger group shouldn't be an issue. Strategy will always overcome sheer power.

yeah it just doesn't make any sense...
I mean...the gaes fate nms are scaled up the more people you have... but I don't know why they can't figure that out and leave the mules at home. Or play the mule and focus on that job instead of sucking at two or three.
they want aeonics, but they don't want to pay to get burned through it and for some unknown reason they refuse to do it the right way.
these kids can't get into other shouts...well... for a lot of reasons, but they think it's because they don't have a REMA...which is one problem...but not the one they need to tackle first. |

Jokes on them. They need 55k beads to buy the weapon KI. Until then the Escha NMs don’t count (though they’re the best way to get beads)
the easiest/quickest way to get beads is to kill the dragon in risenjima...(quetz)...but you need the vorseals from the gaes fate nms to be able to do it effectively... and you need the silt to buy those... and so on and so on...
it's a grindy game... a lot of people don't get that. |

Despite my repeated warnings my son went on a Escha NM run with Samu's group... /sigh
after being pummeled a few times I gave in and tried to help them too... but it went like all of his other runs... two hours of standing around debating strategy, deciding on a plan, everyone forgetting to get tribulens, waiting waiting waiting...buff up, job changes, the wait continues, the buffs wear...oh look someone logged on to the linkshell let's wait for them....oh they can't come... couple of DC's...let's wait for them to come back...job changes... they finally pop an NM nobody follows the plan, we litter the battlefield with our corpses.
I think their main problems are threefold 1. they all two box, about as well as I do... so the geo bubble is all lonely by itself, nowhere near the NM, the whms are mules, standing in AOE range waiting to get one shotted...etc. 2. they keep trying to skip logical steps of progression. you don't try to build a aeonic weapon wearing sparks gear... and 3. sam leads like a cat hearder armed with broken english a water sprayer bottle.
one guy asked if the order you kill the nms mattered for aeonic... me- you have to kill them by zone.
him- so these won't count if I don't have zi'tah done?
me- no... you can check which ones you're missing from the gob
him- the gob?
me - yeah the gob you got the KI from
him- KI?
me- the Malformed weapon you need to start the quest...
him- >.<
of course it doesn't matter if you wipe to every single one of the NMs... you actually have to win the battle in order to get credit...I picture him looking at either the sky or ground KO'D asking in Linkshell chat... Did I get the Aeonic yet?

Got to LA safely about 5hrs ago. Our hotel is in the middle of a Military Industrialist Corporate Park. I got Northrop Grumman in the same parking lot, Boeing and Raytheon down the street. Also Square Enix is around the corner. I should probably stop by and see if anybody I knew from my tenure 12yrs ago is still there.
