I think there could be merit to this point, about showing your "weaklness" publically and what that brings etc.
It does make sense.

Altough in the case of FFXI specifically I'm not sure it's a particularly relevant point.
I doubt them or anybody else care that much at this point.
So if they're not doing server merges I'm leaning to think the main reasons are probably others than that you just exposed.

Shami's chests got pulled a day early due to a supposed bug according to the devs. Shami NPC is back to its pre-event status.

Recent announcement here.
By Shichishito on 2025-04-07 05:25:53
there is already a need for merges on 14?
By Felgarr on 2025-04-07 04:05:37
I want more Dynamis Divergence zones, damn it!

Moar Glacier!
Moar Valkurm!
...I'll even take Dynamis-Meriphataud or Dynamis-Fort-K, and I HATE THOSE ZONES.

Offering them is fine, the problem is how low the price is and that new characters can buy them since they get 500 points. It encourages delete > remake over and over.

They should set the price at 1k or it will be heavily abused, it is in effect duping.

Server merges are bad, they already offer cheap server swaps and that is enough.

I understand the point of people coming back to lower pop, but server merges make people quit who area already playing.

Name loss (not only your name but people around you that you were familiar with), community loss, unable to do content when they want and also the negative messaging of actually doing a merge in the first place. An official merge isn't just a mechanical thing, there is a lot of psychology that comes into play.

This is why XIV will also never do merges.
By Shichishito on 2025-04-07 03:42:10
Some day those graveyard servers will be widely popluated and prosperous again!

If we merge and close those servers now the dream is dead for good!

Bottom line is as long as they make more profit from server jumps as the running of those graveyard servers costs them nothing gets closed or merged.

But hey, RMT activity doesn't affect you.

doing a bit of inventory clean up, is charis feather still bis for climactic slot in?

I need you to draw... emphasis on NEED you to draw Olwyn from Bastok Markets absolutely covered in a mound of Prize Powder, Acheron Shields, and perhaps a Musketeer Gun or two.

She's the NPC in Mjoll's Goods store front. The potion shop that somehow has unlimited gil to buy our ridiculous amounts of Prize Powder and Shields every week.

Ya know, I've always hoped I'd live to see the complete and total economic collapse of the country.

And now on the eve of the event. It's even better than I hoped for.

I did hope that it would come about from the workers revolting and burning it all down, guillotines etc, but that was a long shot. I would've settled for zombies, too. But, we take it any way we get it.

I was also hoping for zombies...but yes.
By Draylo on 2025-04-06 23:07:04
I've always said they should do it again. Low numbers like that are demoralizing and when people return and see that it makes them quit. Don't see any benefit to leaving them, it doesn't need so many servers. Could argue the benefit it has to SE with server transfers but they are also losing players. Too many ppl take the sea all number as an indicator of health (especially on those other servers)
By Johnb on 2025-04-06 22:50:35
This server is pretty low population in NA time around 400 count. JP primetime is about 600 server count though. There are no "merc" yells on this server by the way except for some job points/exemplar points RMT thing. It can be frustrating to find people to do things, for sure. There is low stock on some +2 necks sometimes, but plenty of REMA materials on sale. The tough part can be finding people to do odyssey/omen/sortie since it seems most people are in a static already.

Except that you are wrong. And that's a pretty stupid and depressing wishful thinking.

Try touching grass, mate. It helps.

I remember way back when dynamis was new, and SE was releasing articles about it, in the form of a Hydra Corp member, with the job of a THF, and how he wrote home, talking about the amazing new armor he was given (Relic Armor), and a new knife that he swore he heard speak to him (Mandau).

The last “letter” that was found was written after the Hydra Corp was in the Battle of Beaucidine, and was pulled into another realm, and there was endless fighting, and he felt like the darkness was taking over.

Man I miss the old FFXI, with the deep lore

Letters From the Hydra

Watched A Complete Unknown on Hulu, the Bob Dylan movie. Great movie, really surprised Chalamet didn't win the Oscar. Not a huge Dylan fan, but it was a really good movie. Whole cast did a great job, couldn't even see Boyd Holbrook in Johnny Cash. Now they are making a Springsteen movie next year, looking forward to that.

Not sure if anybody cares since this only involves the test macro cardians, but I went and smacked one for a few seconds and gearswap spams nonstop error messages into the console:

We have not updated the resources to include the new buff

This was an absolutely awesome read! Never delved too far into the Dynamis lore, so thanks a ton for the clarification.

Elementary is sooooo good! I love its intro.
intro gets me every time, I love it so much. Also it has the same ending song as bones but it is done much better in elementary.

I really like the characters in elementary.

Crash and Burn for life! >.> That movie has no good reason for me to love it so much but I do! Fisher Stevens being the villain is probably part of it, Loved him in early edition.

Side note, early edition has what I see as the best portrayal of a disabled character I have had the pleasure of watching Marissa is so much more then a blind character, the fact she is blind is not a topic thrusted at you every time she is appears in a seen. The way Gary and Chuck treat her feels very real.

Correct guess, that and criminal minds, monk, elementary (I would ask for a hall pass for zero cool), crossing Jordan, rizzoli and isles, numb3rs, perception, lie to me, law and order... I could go on but I think you get the idea.
Coulda swore I replied to this, but I guess I didn't hit submit!

Elementary is sooooo good! I love its intro. I love Johnny Lee Miller (Angelina Jolie's first hubby! Or should I say Acid Burn's first hubby)

And I was introduced to it by my wife :) And I have referred to Lucy Liu's Watson as, "Hot Watson" so many times, that my wife has started calling Lucy Liu, "Hot Watson." :D

I haven't played the RNG before, but I've played the COR and experienced the fight dozens of times.

RNG should be doing 65~70% of the damage. If COR is doing 35-40% then the RNG isn't doing enough.

I think it varies quite a bit. I've found that COR with prime gun does a fair bit more than a COR without. It also depends if your RNG switches to a bow at what % they do that, and which bow.
By Shadowmeld on 2025-04-06 15:03:48
Are you talking about damage split or absolute damage?

For split, every winning run I’ve been on is about 70%/30%

My last win I was at 73%

That merlinic head is filthy.

Geo doesn’t have as much of a macc check as cor or brd, so as long as you the the fc and haste right you’re good

Well, just gonna point some things out.

It's, "Disjoined" not "Disjointed." Disjoined as in separate or split apart. This must surely seem to really be splitting hairs, but it paints the Dynamis Divergence bosses as being like The Adventurer's dark self from the future. An entity comprised of his darkness, separated out from his body so that he could become a God of Light.

Then you have to remember that Dynamis itself has its own lore, and that a big part of that lore is the Hydra Corps and being related to/reflections of an alternate happening of The Crystal War. Which from WoTG we know Dynamis's dark reflection is closer to how that war originally went. But, of course, Dynamis itself is merely reflecting the darkness of Raogrimm and its other inhabitant's souls.

Because Raogrimm's soul is what twisted Dynamis to be the violent dark realm that it is, as did Prishe for the Dreamland Dynamis zones.

Now in Dynamis - Divergence it seems to be the goblin Aurix that's responsible for how the zones are. He's after identification tags from the Hydra Corps, which were Allied Forces of Altana's elite regiment that originally wielded the Relic weapons. As we know from TVR, and from Relic acquisition itself, Relic weapons were prototype Prime weapons and they consumed the souls of their wielders.

In original Dynamis, fomors didn't appear until Dynamis Beaucedine (and only appear here). These were the souls of the Hydra Corps, and due to the limitations at the time, they all had Elvaan models since Dynamis predates CoP.

In Dynamis Divergence, once the two beastmen waves are defeated, the Volte fomors appear. Volte in this context refers to the Equestrian term that centers around dressage, training a horse to move with minimal commands within a 6 meter circle. This type of Equestrianism has its roots in training War Horses.

But these are the souls of the Hydra Corps, but instead of wielding relics, they wield red and blue variants of the Shadowreign era Fomor HNMs' unique synergy weapons from Eldieme Necropolis/Garlaige Citadel/Crawler's Nest S WoTG zones. You may be more familiar with the Blurred Su2 weapon asset reuse of these rare weapons.

The Disjoined NMs themselves seem to be an amalgam of Hydra Corps members wielding a relic, mythic, empyrean, or aeonic weapon in their mainhand with an Excalibur-like modeled sword in their offhand.

You are granted a Mask of Darkness when you kill a Volte elemental circle. It fills with Light when you fight the Disjoined, as you reduce its HP. If you kill a Disjoined or damage one enough, it turns to a Mask of Light. Upon death the Disjoined loudly proclaim, "The Darkness will rise again!"

To me, it seems more that Dynamis Divergence is a dark reflection of the player's own experiences intermingled with Aurix's, which is how it ties the Disjoineds to the REMA weapons so thoroughly. The Masks are used to imbue Oboro's tools with the capability of augmented your REMAs using the Swarts of Astral Detritus, the remaining soul dregs of warriors/the Hydra Corps. But you may also imbue his tools with that power by accumulating 10000 job points, which to me speaks to the idea that it's the adventurer's experiences that help color Dynamis Divergence.

i.e. The Cloud of Darkness had no hand in it. It is our experience of the Cloud and Volto Oscuro being reflected back at us.

Going to hijack this thread and ask what's an amount of damage to aim for RNG and COR on the 2nd KI of a 2 KI fight.
