Ya in my previous post I said storms would have made far more sense as a geomancer spell line if it were just geo-fire or indi-snow or something. The bubbles not being the least but elementally aligned is kinda strange to me
What should they have done? SCH was in game for 6 years before GEO was released, GEO probably wasnt even a consideration when SCH was released. Should they have removed one of SCH's tools and given it to GEO?

Also, it wouldnt make sense to give them that tool. GEO's dont manipulate weather/terrain, they work with the existing terrain in harmony. A terrain based job in FFXI would be pretty shitty considering what matters is endgame content. Since GEO's inclusion, heres the content:
Skirmish takes place in: Rala Waterways (U), Cirdas Caverns (U), Yorcia Weald (U), Outer Ra'Kaznar (U)
Delve takes place in: Cirdas Caverns (U), Yorcia Weald (U)
Incursion: Cirdas Caverns (U)
Vagary takes place in: Outer Ra'Kaznar (U)
Sinister Reign: Ra'Kaznar Inner Court
Unity: Varies
Ambuscade: Maquette Abdhaljs-Legion
Omen takes place in: Reisenjima Henge
Odyssey: Walk of Echoes
Sortie: Outer Ra'Kaznar (U)
Dynamis-D: 4 main cities

Did I miss anything? How varied is the terrain for these areas on job creation? Its a lot of earthy dirt.

Implementing terrain based buffs would be more useless than cardinal chant. Its also hard to say how much of the code would need to be rebuilt to implement terrain based detection for specific buffs. Can you flag a texture? How would fire based terrain work when we cant run on lava? Is this now by area?

Now having said that, they could have still done more, but at what cost?
GEO could get a trait that forces weather (NOT DAY) procs and higher version of the trait raises the bonus offered. I think this is pretty harmless in the grand scheme of things. Maybe even prevents negative procs from happening.
They could make indi- and geo- spells affected by weather. However, such a thing would likely come with a nerf in max potency

I've never heard of any of this.. is it hand made? Where did it come from?

This merchandise is from the official Treasures of Vana'diel exhibition in Japan, In late 2023 and early 2024 people could order merch using thier online mail order form, however this was specifically japanese only, but westerners could aquire them also via a proxy service much like Japan Rabbit.
The latter is how me and my partner obtained them, the items above are blind box items so a great deal of luck was involved in completing the sets as you could only buy 18 of each set! Sadly out of 18 blind box white frames set we are 8/10 haha,

B-Shock

This was a reread. I first read it many years ago, and it is always interesting to see how a story age as you mature.

This story premise is quite simple: how would 2 teenagers, that at first are stranger to each other, would react to a situation of being trapped one to each other for more than a year, not being allowed to be over 1~10 meters away.

As usual, this lead to many topics to inspect, like how they will figure mundane stuffs like using toilet, finding a job, being forced to deal with each other despite such heavy situation, etc.

This setup could be a dark and sinister theme, as its two people who are being coerced to do something. But the author tries to alleviate the matter by resorting to a more “fun” and “romantic” approach to them. In the end, his conclusion is that two people forced to be close to each other end up loving the other and forming a couple.

Well, this is a love story in the end. The couple is ok, they develop decently through the story, their conclusion feels natural because we actually saw many and many situation that justifies their growing intimacy. Probably this romantic development was what made me remember this story so many years later. And the art, that is genuinely GOOD.

But being older, this story actually becomes harder to read. Because of the setup. To justify the protagonist being so close for so long, the author resort to a plot where each of them has a bomb tied to their arms, that would explode if they are over the allowed distance.

Looking now, in practice, the protagonists were kidnapped and kept trapped, subjulgated to the doctors whims. Its abnormal seeing the two struggling with such situation while the doctor see it just as a normal experience with two candidates, both they are there unwillingly.

So, the romance is ok, but it is harder to see it lightly when you are aware there is a very cruel crime going on.

Dropping laughs here and there wont make this right.

For Bumba V25; Enter at 77% (Pre Add/SP) Has anyone had it where the first Kaustra hits successfully over 90k but then doesn't tick for any damage? We confirmed its not in dark absorb and have replicated this 5 or 6 times in a row.

Are you guys using Bio at all? We had an issue where Kaustra wouldn't tick properly with Bio applied. Bio doesn't even do anything outside of the DoT since Bumba's auto attacks are magic-based anyway. Just avoid using it if you are.

Other than that, we HAVE also had that happen once. I can't recall whether it was at 75% or 40% though. We landed Kaustra > it 2hr'd with Sforzo > DoT from Kaustra stopped.

Never had the same conditions repeat to see if it was consistent behavior.

Need more of this energy. Cut out the middlemen, we're so ***, it's great. It's all coming from china just buy it from china.

The middlemen are worse with statues/figures from China too. They hike the price up so much when the studios are willing to sell direct but don't usually have the means or want to deal with legal stuff. I wish someone come up with a way to buy direct from these China factories instead of dealing with middlemen making a profit for almost no effort.

Cast Snow field on ice-based mob, cast fire aura on yourself. Mob gets bonuses to ice, but also a fire penalty. RNGs+ CORs can Wildfire with added power so long as they are withing the "fire storm" bubble. Fire Magic Also does more damage when inside the bubble. You could have even taken the whole Cardinal Chant direction thing in a whole different direction, allowing anyone the bonus if they were positioned in a specific spot relative to the auras.

The weather debuff doesnt exist, but your "fire aura" sounds exactly like a line of spells given to scholar.

When you look at bubbles, you can cast one on yourself that moves with you, and one stationary that does not. This would have been an interesting way to "manipulate" elements in your favor. You make elemental geomancy, but have it operate similar to rayke/elemental ninjutsu. Cast Snow field on ice-based mob, cast fire aura on yourself. Mob gets bonuses to ice, but also a fire penalty. I'd *** love to play this version of Geo. It's actually a real geomancer!

(I'm not saying who cares, why not just make it anyway. I'm saying it's not a fun as you wish it would be)

(...)

I'm not inventing geomancer here. This is how Geomancer actually works, originally. Even in FF11, snow areas aren't purely composed of snow mobs and there are multiple areas with multiple different terrain and weather.

Think a little outside of the box. Remember, you don't have to disagree with everything.

Sir this is AH. Everybody disagrees with everything and everyone.

More to the subject though, GEO historically did get an elemental bonus based on their environment. Almost nothing about GEO follows the lore of the job itself (You could argue Cardinal Chant is a location-based bonus, but it's terribly implemented). Even if it wasn't snowfield > ice damage/resistance bonus, the draw for GEO should have been the mage can manipulate the battlefield/surroundings for a variety of bonuses; They completely cut that part of the job out and just gave you straight bonuses with fury/frailty/haste/malaise. But that almost seems to betray the idea behind the job imo.

When you look at bubbles, you can cast one on yourself that moves with you, and one stationary that does not. This would have been an interesting way to "manipulate" elements in your favor. There were so many cooler ideas to make GEO more of a flow-of-battle type job, but it's just a busted* (de)buffer and mid-tier nuker, and you will only ever use 3-5 spells. This is why we have to debate what's the best aminon club for DDing or the best sub for dps.

That means the font you are using does not have that character as a part of it, so it gets replaced with the box instead, you'd either need to edit the addon's code to change the character to one the font does have, or switch to another font

Second question, what exactly is Sub Target for? Does it show your pet's target, or your target's target? I can't seem to get it to work properly either way. Thanks in advance.
Sub Target is the literal sub-target (a secondary target in addition to your primary cursor target) from the game. So, for example, if you have a monster targeted (which will show as your normal Target), then you use a Cure macro with a target select (note that stpt and stal do not work for this example because they put the targeting cursor directly into the party/alliance list and do not trigger the game supplying a sub-target) it will show you what your sub-target is for that spell.

Don't think I would want to go on RUN since tanks are usually expected to do pulls or know the strat well in general.

Honestly, this attitude is rare and incredibly admirable. Admitting you are unfamiliar with something and then improving your mastery through other roles until you acquire the skill set will get you far (not just in XI, but life overall). If I still had a sub (and you were on Bahamut), I would have more than invited you to join PUGs with me.

I think there’s also a perception that you need to be max geared and ML30+ with 10 REMAs that drive a lot of players into being hesitant to try PUGs because they think they’re under skilled or geared. Specifically, we’ve all seen of PUGs requiring your BRD to have 4 REMAs to join, or require your COR to be +8, or your GEO requiring Idris. So even taking a support job into Ody, those alone can make someone worried to join.
