There's a market for both

Some companies gets market for both, like Capcom. They are still releasing RE9, MH Wild and new Onimusha game, on the same time they also re-release old games from the 90s.

Some companies make less and less of new titles, and only rely on old titles to sell. I feel SE is walking on this path unfortunately.

I happen to think some add ons should not exist and the person making them should not be doing anything UI related cause they're terrible at it.

It's not the same thing though is it.

Once the information is released, the value of the information is in effect destroyed for everyone. You can't post a picture of something you found cause it's already known to everyone, so there is no value in finding it or sharing it. It not being known to the community is why it has value.

Me making mods you think are ***is irrelevant, cause they are opt in and have no negative impact on anyone else.

we're still figuring out neo limbus in a natural manner like why the heck we can't open chests despite having all temp items...
People reported you need ALL KIs from ALL wings of Apollyon (or Temenos) to be able to open the final chest.

So if you're doing Apollyon SE, to give an example, just having all the KIs from Apollyon SE isn't enough, you need KIs from the other Apollyon wings as well.

Did anyone notice if AoE is nerfed?
A couple of people reported what seems like the usual "90% damage reduction on targets other than the main one of an AoE spell/ws/ja" that we saw on multiple content.
But I'd love to see more tests about it!

So SAM is the best DD with hybrid WS then?

Mumei x3 killed everything at i119. Used Koru, Ulmia and Ygnas.

Did you try hyrbid WS? Hybrid WS can of course be enhanced more ways than just physical so they should do more with the right buffs. Maybe SAM SAM COR COR SCH BRD can spam Kagero and Hotshot lol

Return of Pummeler's legs/feet. With a vengeance.

I still really like Boii Legs / Feet +3. Will see how things pan out because I still use Pummeler's in some sets.
By palladin9479 on 2025-06-10 07:57:09
Yeah guys, they are going to do the exact same thing here as they did with Empyrian, Omen and pretty much every other system. This is the opening salvo, the Empy +2 so to speak. The limits are there to prevent some people, you know who you are, from parking bots and monopolizing zones. I laughed at the five chest and 50K currency limit, but I understand it's so that everyone can participate in a shared zone instead of a dozen multi-boxers hording everything.

As for the stats, I'll wait and see until whatever augment / RP system or whatever comes next happens. This seems more like putting some parts of AF/ Relic in line with Gaol / Empy gear. Kinda sad they didn't bump up the base states by at least 2 points but whatever.

I finished Apollyon with a party of 6. In order for the chest to open, you need to finish all of the zone, not just one section. So Apollyon is 18 KIs, Temenos should be 25 KIs. If the chest says "it won't open", you need more KIs.

Curious what the time commitment was, how long did it take your party to do this?

Either which way, a few weeks of minimal (literally solo with Trusts) effort and you're done. Commensurate with the effort is the reward.
Months you meant.
Technically ~11 months if you wanted to get all 220 pieces for all 22 jobs.
To upgrade all my pieces, for instance, it would take me ~6 months (spoiler: less because I won't upgrade all of them).

Now tbf I'd be kinda fine with these times. I'm more concerned about a possible +5 coming out and requiring 5 times as much time as these +4 versions, now that would be quite troublesome...
Very much see a 10k to 70k jump level happening here (like emp+3) with the cap increasing when the add it. 70k was always ***, moreso because it is the same currency for weapons.

With this content, a tripling at most would be acceptable. Any more than that and they are being sadists.
By Taint on 2025-06-10 07:52:42
i119 gave 10 points per kill. Each floor took 6 mobs to fill the bar and you get your 60 points (6 mobs) only after you fill the bar. Temp KI on each floor after filling the bar once.

84 exemplar points per mob at ML50.

Now start a petition to get SE to remake FFXI
Like they've done for how many of there other games
It's time for a 2025 remake

Hell no! FFXI does not need a remake. It's fine as it is. You can never recreate what FFXI did throughout its entire life. Not everything needs a remake.

Somehow, I feel no remake could make things worse so...

IMO, there is a good chance for a win.

Imagine FFXI without Windower, that would be the remake.

The only reason something like Windower is possible is due to the older coding methods they used allowing for the Windower dev team to hijack ffximain.dll via hooking. Most newer engines use pointer randomization and various anti-cheat / DRM methods to combat that.

The best you can have for now is to use dgVoodoo2 to upgrade FFXI from DX8 to DX11 then reshade to apply post-processing. It really does make the game look so much better.

Idk I vote we continue to have business as normal with people wanting to discuss how underwhelming (but really?) the new upgrades are, as they have been for years and years. We can't get a free bonanza weapon every month, Square would go bankrupt!!

To clarify Appolyon = AF, Temenos = Relic?
Yeah when you're in Apollyon the NPC will only talk about AF gear.

If you don't want to be spoiled by info, simply don't enter into an info-dump thread and make one yourself where you invite people to discover stuff bit by bit?
Nobody is stopping you from doin that.
It seems what you're demanding is different though. You don't want to get that info yourself AND you don't want anybody else to get it, it's quite a different story.
Basically you (legitimately) want things in a certain way, and demand everybody does the same instead of leaving freedom of choice.

It's not about me, I want the community and endgame players to have this thing they figure out and enjoy doing so in the thread as it evolves.

Not have someone with tools post everything a few hours after it is installed.

I don't hate Funk or anyone else, I just think this datamine stuff is bad when there is no control and they can't wait a couple of days to do it. We all know the community loves to find this stuff out as a community in these threads, there is no journey anymore and instead the destination is in the OP.

You're ruining the game by voluntarily posting all your .dat mods. The game would be so much better if we all played vanilla like it was 2004. Exercise self-control and stop contributing to what I unilaterally deem The Problem.

See? Other people can make unreasonable demands of you. You are not obliged to care about their personal ideals for how the game "should" be. Nor is it realistic of anyone to expect anything to return to the Before Times, regardless of how novel it would be.

About this spoiler thing...
FK IT, if I want to play a game without wiki, I never open google and type: "game's name wiki"...

In all honest, they can take those AF/Relic to +6 lol
18 hours time sink, I can see SE loving it^^
By Akumasama on 2025-06-10 07:34:25
Relic never had set bonus, and why would they tweak the AF one?
I mean they didn't add not even a 0.01% to anything that's not the very basic stats, you really expect them to adjust the set bonus? C'mon! Be real about it or you'll just be endlessly disappointed! <3
By gistofanything on 2025-06-10 07:33:05
If you read earlier in the thread (page 4) people were literally troubleshooting the new content.......
By Ovalidal on 2025-06-10 07:32:35
Does anyone know whether or not they tweaked the set bonus for AF? Or I guess Relic, for that matter.

It is exactly about you.
You envision the community being in a certain way, you want it that way. You think it would be better, out of honest good faith and not ill intentions.
That's exactly what makes it about you. You have a, legitimate, view on something and would love to have it enforced on everybody else.

It's an objectively bad thing that isn't new. It's just never discussed because there's no point.

I for example, was absolsutely disgusted when my friend picked up Elden Ring, and I was like, you're gonna love it, it's gonna be the best torture figuring all that ***out.

He goes and watches a *** tutorial on every boss BEFORE HE EVEN SEES THE DAMN BOSS. Finds out the best build before trying a single one for himself. What the *** is the point.

Subjectively he said it was fun to not struggle, but objectively the point IS the struggle. The discovery. The mystery. Exploration is dead and we cheered at it's funeral.
you were so close. radial could simply not read the forums, as you did and as your friend didn't in your example.

many people live this way. trying to force your way on a community of people is something i'd only except from him

Not to stray too far from the topic, but a common sentiment is a fear of failure in the age of limitless information and limited time.

Yes, the mystique and grandeur of 2005 will forever be relics of a bygone era, but I don't think at our age we should be vilifying volunteers providing a service to those seeking it.
