so...I get to the service call and I'm working away on the evil machine...<tool noises>
tinker tinker here...tinker tinker there ....
and the whole time the operator is sitting there nearby yammering on and on and on and on and on and on... trying deperately to fill the uneasy silence or something...talking/bitching about the machine talking/bitching about the company he works for... typical stuff...he's an old white guy, probably sixty two.
couple of hours go by and then all the sudden he says something as if he is reveiling his secret identity .

Hide and Seek Winner
I was buzzing along the highway at a pretty good clip... saw the speed trap too late and I looked down at the speedometer and realized I was going too fast to slow down in time..../shrug
check the rearview and sure enough, here comes johnny law to ruin my day with a speeding ticket. but aha! I went over the crest of the rise and out of sight of the cop for a few seconds so I floored it and passed a semi driving the speed limit in the center lane. went into the right lane and slowed down and then hid behind him as the cop went whizzing down the left lane looking for me.
I stayed there giggling like an idiot for about five miles until I caught sight of the cop trying to go into the left berm to slow down to look for me so then I passed the semi on the right again to stay out of his sight.
perfectly timed!
cop gave up and turned around to go back to his hidey hole
