Same for me. I think it was probably always a bit overstated I mean we're talking about at least 100 days of 20-30 mins wasted doing something incredibly obnoxious, useless, boring, irritating, with an infernally awful UI in a system that was probably developed by the devil (if there was one) as a punishment for living people.
you're describing playing the game, IMO
but also, how does it compare to farming RP in Odyssey or doing Sortie for the 10,000th time? FFXI is secretly a chat client with minigames.

Dagon breastplate w/ impossible to gauge. They turning up them drop rates
The unfortunate consequence of promoting omen bodies to ITG... all of the rest of the escha gear came with it =/
Wait, all the good stuff was shifted up?
No, like bad items sneaking in behind good items. As an example, not all of the original trove specific equipment is worthy of ITG, but it all goes in because it's a group of items.

I remember being able to see it quickly after zoning, and if things were still like that I'm pretty sure some crafty LUA addon maker could easily pull that data off somewhere from the client.
Thing is I seem to recall that such info was removed client side a long time ago and as a matter of fact the "being able to see it by quickly checking the menu after zoning" stopped being a thing.
I think? I could be misremembering hey!

Ow! Gonna edit it then, my bad! Sorry!
On NIN it was already very well explained by Bukki before. Yes you can do it and it could be beneficial in some setups like... I can't think of anything, Hybrid spam maybe?
But you do lose the chance to equip Shurikens, which means no Daken, which is a nice source of damage and TP return.
Granted, I dunno, in terms of pure performance a 100% DA might even provide a better TP return but it would feel so bad to lose such a job-defining trait as Daken! Despite all its many flaws it still feels very ninjaesque.

Is there a way to see your digging skill? I know you used to be able to see it by checking really really fast after zoning, so I assume it can be sent clientside and exposed by a lua. You can deduce it from the amount of seconds of delay you get for digging after zoning and after previous dig.
There's a beautifully crafted table on BG-wiki for that! I knew this, then I forgot it. So I'm gonna pretend I was asking because I love to have cheaty luas instead.
(...well, I do, I love stupid stuff like "instantly check for pirates by zone id" even if you can tell by whether the door's targetable on ferry zone load)

I havent had time to mess much with Hoxne Ampulla since i got it but was wondering if this is a lock the slot with it on and have fun thing. Or do i need to worry about redoing TP and WS sets on jobs that might want to use it? Thinking NIN RDM BLU DRK MNK THF DNC.. Thanks for any insight.
4) The enchantment lasts 30 mins, re-use is 1hr (which means, at best, you will be able to use it for 30 mins every 1hr)
Because of these limitations I don't think you can permanently change your TP sets on any job you would like to use it.
I guess you should make a toggle. If "off" it uses your default TP sets, if "on" it locks your range/ammo slots and maybe swaps a few other slots as well (like remove items with DA etc).
It is a 1 min recast. I was mainly asking about TP sets because for NIN for example I have a lot of DW% sets for fodder/hybrid. I just didnt know how far i would/should go into tweaking things. I am not sure how useful it will be in the end anyway. My brain wants to say for DW jobs knowing you will DA on both main and off hands for WS seems like it could be great. Who knows though.

Same for me. I think it was probably always a bit overstated Matter of points of view? If anything I find it was UNDERstated.
I mean we're talking about at least 100 days of 20-30 mins wasted doing something incredibly obnoxious, useless, boring, irritating, with an infernally awful UI in a system that was probably developed by the devil (if there was one) as a punishment for living people.
You know how many other things that actually provide you joy and entertainment you could do in those 20-30mins for 100 days? Realistically more than that because not many people would be able to do that every single day.
Now if you do get personal enjoyment for that sort of things, as strange as it may sound to the likes of me, that's... an entirely different story of course, I won't judge.
But to me, who would do something I absolutely loath and devastates me just so that after 4+ months I might get a rank up, well, nope?
Which reminds me why it's one of the very very very few things I never bothered with so far.
And I forget about the chocobo raising! Omg that thing was so annoying as well, and sadly not compensated by the super cute and beautifully coloured different birds.
It could've been somewhat nice with a decent, modern UI, clear messages, less RNG and annoying items and unskippable CS and loading times and stuff, I suppose.
Went through that hell once years ago and that was way more than enough for me xD

A few thousand successful digs *GASPS*
I'm already running away from Choco Digging lmao
Regardless of that, THANKS A LOT for the super useful information provided, hope someone will add that to the Wiki Chocobo Digging discussion page as it could be greatly useful for everybody in the future.
I also doubt the max ranking is required to unlock Mastery related stuff, probably need a couple ranks below the cap to be done with it.

I went in expecting far worse because the wikis stated it would take years of digs.
Same for me. I think it was probably always a bit overstated, but it's possible that the testimonies were from before Personal Chocobo (200 digs) + Sky Blue Silks (50% more skill per digs? who knows!)
It doesn't take long to knock out a day worth of digs after the first few ranks, so maybe you could cap chocographs and see if that gets you through the first few ranks, then just spam out your 200/day whenever you have time.

Not what I'd observed, but I didn't get an Omen body last night either (did get Regal Gauntlets from Loud if those are the same tier). Also got Epam ring from Loud, several Volte pieces, Odin Gsword, etc. Things I got from Impossible were new to trove - Null cape, TH ring, Dyna crystal, etc. Did get a Sortie Sapphire from Loud I think too :/
Could be that some drops got moved up, could be that they can drop from either.

Sounds like too much of a work (with an overly annoying UI from a 2003 game) for the likes of me, but I guess those hot and cold miniquests are nice.
No Greens required to dig, and they do give potential skillups and are not subject to the ~100 daily limitations.
Sooooo yeah, I guess very nice spot to start with for anyone who wants to do at least some choco digging.

You've lost me. All 5 hits have a chance to DA, right? Nope, only the first 2 hits of a WS have a chance to proc multiattack. As far as I can remember from some old BG tests at least.

So, the question for trove now is go for loud or impossible; if loud, gamble to go impossible or open terminal?

I was expecting time extensions for Cornelia in the 125% and 150% rate upgrades, but appearently this time around we're getting Cornelia for "only" 3 months, correct?

There's one that requires you to do 30 digging, something else as well that I don't remember probably?
Leveling it to 10 and Chocographs!

IIRC I haven't done the Martello quests in Abyssea yet because they require that you restore HP and all Martellos sit around with full HP. Anyone have a way to do them? Yes.
Get yourself damaged by surrounding monsters.
Use the martello to restore your HP (this will lower the martello's total health).
Quickly do the "replenish martello health" before it regens above the threshold where it will be too high for you to complete the quest, done.
Easier if you have multiple characters to use at your disposal.
Can't spam it because there's a "cooldown". Once you've used a Martello you can't use another one for X minutes, where X is lowered by certain abyssites iir but I could be wrong.
I don't remember if this limits applies on a per-zone basis or per-martello basis, and I don't remember if zoning in and out of Abyssea resets the timer.
I was missing a few of them a couple of years ago when I maxed all abyssea quests and max reputation in a couple of Abyssea zones, and the one above is the method I used to heal the martellos in an era where pretty much nobody is in Abyssea zones.

Honestly, if you're needing Repair at all, you're either doing something wrong or under 100/1200 JP. And if you're under 100/1200 JP, yeah, this ring probably does make a significant enough difference to improve your kill times meaningfully.
If you run this enough, you'll find that occasionally CS will drop your automaton HP lower than you're comfortable with. You use repair mostly as insurance, but also because oil is cheap and you are not.
I understand the idea of using the best gear you have available to you, but we're talking about dated content that's been on farm for years now. 'Dead inside of overdrive' is about as optimal as most people need it to be.

I'm doing a quest in Carpenter's Landing that requires an item from monsters on the barge, and just learned there is an entrance to the Landing and Barge Pier from North Sandy. Over 20 years in and never knew this existed xD
I had a similar experience in Windurst in Heavens tower. For about 10 years, I just didn't know it had a basement. The depth of the zone is kind of weird, and the winding staircase down to the basement doesn't really stand out from a distance.
Also, Windurst sucks amiright? ...I'm just mad I have to go do the Windurst missions now for Mastery Rank increases. :(

Okay, I'm too tired to make it pretty right now but I tracked 30 mars orbs and 18 venus orbs. Two impossible to gauge thuds, both were Dynamis job crystals. Got a mog amplifier as a loud thud drop. Hit triple loud thud twice on the venus orbs (opened a loud thud box while still getting the "You feel like there's a huge sound left to be made." message, and then loud thud terminal. Conversely, I cleared 8/10 boxes four times on the mars orbs, only to get three no upgrades and one gold box (which was a loud thud, at least.) Got a prismatic box at the start of one mars orb though.
Standout drops: Pulse cell: Ay, the one round that gave me three Celaeno's cloths (I had two thuds, so I guess 100% confirmed they're a noise drop? I think the treasure pool actually sorts by noise rating, best noise at the top.) Onyx, lapis lazuli, ruby, light opal, and black pearl share the "are you sure this is supposed to be a prize" award.
Two messages noted, "You feel like there's a huge sound left to be made" and "You feel like there's an impossible to gauge thud left to be made", both of which were seen ending with "." and "...?" not sure what that's about, I've got records of both variants of the impossible to gauge variants building up to a "Looks like your intuition was incorrect."
Frankly, much like with belligerent bangs before them, what these messages really seem to indicate is that the next box you touch will be the mimic.
