Finished editing the A story of Book four today. Now its on to the B story, which is the harder one to get through. Still on track to publish by Mother's Day.

I loved this quest back in the CoP days. To do it requires going out of your way in Riverne, and provides if I recall correctly some lore about the site via a CS.

No, the biggest middle finger. Bigger than the muffin uncap.
Bigger than "paying for inventory"
There is literally no reason to need to play 15++ jobs and min-max each one.

Giving a one time use for those was biggest middle finger they've ever given out to the playerbase.

No, the biggest middle finger. Bigger than the muffin uncap.

Making people pay for inventory is the biggest middle finger.

+2 earrings are the only thing that absolutely needs adjusting. I've been running 4 boss clears for nearing 2 years and 8 boss clears for maybe 6 months. We do a bunch of other objects including naakaul too. I got my first+2 earring a couple weeks ago. I fully expect I will never get a SMN+2 earring and will likely win the lottery before I get a perfect roll on a SMN+2

Wait, there are +2 ears in Sortie!?

Pretty sure Freud would just blame the mothers.

I mean, you tend to schedule blocks of time to work on different code bases, so they're switching.. for weeks/months maybe to finish something, then going back.

Everything involving Areuhat is great.

the Sortie RoE's should be monthly at the very least. Giving a one time use for those was biggest middle finger they've ever given out to the playerbase.

No, the biggest middle finger. Bigger than the muffin uncap.

Hat in Hand
Was one of the first quests I ever did
When you asked for a memorable quest this is instantly what comes to mind
FFXI being my first MMO and not using wikis yet
I had no idea what talking to people meant
I didn't know if I needed to talk to real people I didn't know if I needed to /tell NPCs I couldn't even tell the difference in NPC and players yet

You get a not so good but cool Windshear hat
I thought elemental resistance meant so many more things than it really does

It was a lot of fun learning how the quest works, getting to see and speak to all the NPCs in the zone
Then getting a new rare ex hat to wear

Another memorable quest:
All the star onion brigade quest line

That sounds an awful lot like getting a new job with another team and occasionally helping out with XI when workflow allows.

Found the quote, it isn't quite as stark as I was remembering. The full post makes a distinction between the development and operations teams and makes no mention of the ops team downsizing, though I'm not sure how many people that is. I had assumed most of the forum mods, GM's, etc. were already being borrowed from XIV and not full time XI staff.

It should be like 80% show and 20% filler. They've got this season assbackwards. It's 95% filler and 5% show.

Yea, progress has been slow most episodes and I'm tired of seeing the senate crap. It's like going back to the PT when they had those senate scenes, so fking boring.

It's had it's moments so far but I think they could've condensed it. That whole art gallery sequence was just entirely unnecessary and it seems like the France planet is just a weird distraction although it's pretty obvious where they are going with it.
By Asura.Iamaman on 2025-05-06 15:38:07
Andor season 1 was very good, probably the only really good SW content to come out in years. It's far better than anything else, especially the sequels.

Season 2 has been a little on the slow side, I think they leaned too heavily into the political and social aspects, which hasn't been terrible but it's not as good as season 1 either.

Sure, but they're not pulling random people from XIV, they're pulling ex-XI devs, ex full-time devs anyway.

Didn't Fujito say in the beginning of the year that the development team will not be "full-time" on XI anymore?

Maybe? I have no idea, I don't recall but again it's possible I missed it.

Ugh. I can't imagine having to context switch between XI and XIV. Pretty sure I'd quit, that sounds like a nightmare. If they really do have their entire dev staff doing that, that's gotta be an angry group.

The game is already struggling to remain profitable

This is patently, provably untrue, and has been refuted no small number of times. Like, feel however you like about the rest of it, but this part is straight up false.

To be clear, it remains profitable because they do NOTHING with it, so eventually they're not going to be able to coast anymore, but that day has not come yet, and isn't even visibly on the horizon.

Great suggestions already, thank you. I think I might go town by town and post any that stand out.

You only have to do one of the nation quest lines in the WotG mission/quest storyline, but all three are good. San d'Oria is a little more bland to me (but still solid), but I found Windy and Bastok excellent.
