You're welcome, it's nice to see that there are some people on this forum who aren't just there to attack, humiliate and/or demean others.

Looks like the July part is conditional on obtaining 150% plaudits, almost like a bonus round?
Ah, yeah, could be.

Vanabout site is updated for round 5 - looks like it starts Friday 5/16. It also mentions round 6 will be in July.
Looks like the July part is conditional on obtaining 150% plaudits, almost like a bonus round?
Quote: Plaudits Goal: 150% achieved
1. The Great Odyssey Campaign - PLUS!
The following changes will be made to the rewards for reaching the Otherworldly Vortex in Sheol A, Sheol B, and Sheol C.
- Job points earned will be doubled.
- Moogle Segments acquired will be doubled.
- Gil acquired will be increased by 50%.
- The number of lustreless scale boxes, lustreless hide boxes, and lustreless wing boxes acquired will be doubled.
* The type of item obtained depends on the Sheol entered.
2. Vana'Bout will return in July!
3. Add the Moogle Masque synthesis recipe

Incoming bonanza weapons from Besieged or Limbus?
Or, yeah, they’re really that out of touch.
Maybe you're on to something. We've requested allowing us to obtain these weapons in game for a long time now, and criticized making them impossible to obtain.
However, if they were to actually release them in-game it would nullify their rank 1 Bonanza status.
Well to fix that they could just add +1 versions by winning the Bonanza now. Normal people can get nq versions doing content, bonanza winners get otherwise unobtainable +1 replacing what the nq was before.
Surely, they don't actually expect anyone to win two Rank 1 bonanza's, surelllly... right?

The "Dwarf" thing is more than likely Wizard's attempt to have a catch-all typing for certain tribal effects across the game. They recently did an errata for certain one-named tribes (Viashino, Cephalid, Naga) and put them down as Lizards, Octopus, and Snakes respectively since they were all humanoid in some form. As off-putting as seeing a Tarutaru being labeled as a Dwarf, this makes perfect sense in a gameplay perspective.
===
So I've been playing MTG since Nemesis (roughly around 1998). One thing I've noticed over the years since after War of the Spark--a Planeswalker centric set--is that powercreep has been coming rampant but Wizards has been shortcutting a bunch of card designs by making the same card but either with a set-specific mechanic or just slightly higher stats. Rince repeat. One example of such is green's penchant for "bigger dudes with a truck ton of abilities". Like pic rel:
Flavor text does exist but is very seldom. The game has become slowly turning every card into an encyclopedia in of itself. They knew this, and banked on existing IPs (Lord of the Rings especially) to draw new players in. And it works. A fair number of people at my LGS have joined Magic during LotR.
Also to reference the above card, there's an inside joke on how Questing Beast has so much text that its hard to remember exactly what he does. So naturally, this was made as a joke:

The optimist in me makes me want to believe this means that they will give us another way to get the Bonanza weapons.
The realist in me think I'm an idiot and that all of my trust issues with SE are completely justified. Are they seriously going to put effort into making things that next to no one will get? What the ever lasting *** are they thinking?

Probably depends what sector of the industry you work in, also. Most of the work I've done doesn't really have an A to B path through academia, so either you went to school for something unrelated to graduate and figured it out on your own - or you went to school for a relevant degree and still spent time on your own figuring it out. The latter seem to sometimes be too burned out to do it and the former have to hurdle to get over the base knowledge.
I have never had an issue getting an interview or offer b/c of my dumb degree, but I also think this gets easier as you get more work experience. I just ended up buying a bunch of textbooks after the fact and doing stuff on my own, which was probably better considering the CS program where I went was trash, they teach C and I met a Sr in the program who didn't know what malloc was.
Like Saevel said, they kinda get around it with the whole "...or equiv work experience" thing. I don't even have it listed on my resume, I have one line about going to college at the very end and that's it. Aside from being an object of curiosity and jokes, no one really cares.
The only time it really was an issue was when I interviewed with a place attached to an academic org, they offered me the job but my pay would be severely diminished without getting more degrees. They seemed like good folks I would've liked working with, but there was no way I was taking a 65% pay cut so I could sit in a classroom to try and get paid correctly.

Everyone knows what the only good one is. (the one they think is good, to be accurate)
The same one it's always been. The same one mentioned every time bonanza comes up.
Then name it numbnuts. I don't play enough jobs to know what it is, so inform my poor ignorant self. At least have the balls to do that much.

I do believe it is largely dependent on the age of the company, older company more strict rules around degree holding.

They really just said ‘you need to win the lottery twice’. Bruhhh
No, you get to win twice, now that you can get a special weapon upgrade. Instead of a second pick of trash after you already picked the only good one.
(Which is still trash but people goon over)
I know, guy, you think (this weapon) is cool, too, but I don't care.
What a bold statement lacking any and all specifics. If you're going to lay your balls on the table like that, at least name which of the weapons you think is "the only good one".

I won a rank 1 a few years ago on an alt and it quickly became my bard alt for 15 minute songs. I am fairly certain that this same mule will win again but… the Iris will be for weapons only! >_<

Ive started to write stories for my game at train while going home after work.
I already wrote a story where a hot brunette fell in love with a muscular dog.
Another interesting story was about a blonde that fell in love with a muscular dog.
Right now I had an insight of a brand new story, about a red head falling in love with a muscular dog. And then a cute french poodle in heat wanders by ...

Any benefit to Croc path a or b?
Was just curious because obviously C is great, but wondering what the gap is like, or especially when magic won't do additional damage, compared to say a Naegling.

The odds of a 1 in 500 chance happening twice is 1 in 25,000. I don’t think there are even 25k players left in the whole game. It's actually 1/250,000, but that's only the odds of it having consecutively. There are probably a few hundred weapons already out there in the wild (someone could tally the rank 1 prize counts), so twice that in marbles every run. More likely than not someone would get one this bonanza, even if you rule out doubling up on marbles.
Doubling is obviously the way to go, though.

It could be that it's an upgrade path for something else into the full Bonanza weapons. Their history of translation isn't always great and it's possibly a poor/weak description.
Like maybe there will be lower tier versions of the weapons with similar augments but trashier stats or that are weaker somehow, but the orb allows them to upgrade to the full version?
I could see them doing something like they did with Relic and Prime weapons: you can earn the effect of the weapon but it only works in besieged unless you get the orb
It's in the same tier as the weapons themselves, I don't see how you can use it as a component to upgrade into them when the person could just take them.
It seems pretty clear that it's an (arguably tasteless) upgrade to the bonanza weapons that requires a second win. Given most of them aren't particularly strong any more, I assume this'll put them right up top again.
I hope the update data on the 12th shows us something useful.

Kick attack rate+5% to honor her MNK heritage. I would've said kick damage, but lv1s don't even have the trait yet.
