Wanted to fit all FF7 bring arts together but theres too many coming, so just the OG team for now. I'll have to put the bad guys somewhere else or reorganize them. They came out great despite a lot of complaints they had about QC issues. The cait sith is the best one, so big and easy to pose.

Flametongue on blu is impressive.
I played few times with a guy who has it (Cerebrator) and it was a hell of a show.
I would pick the shield for Killer Instinct on bst...just because.

Thank you for the information, I had forgotten about the pets. I took out Attentive Ibuki and tested with Swooping Zhivago. It applies in the same spot as weaponskills and blue magic spells. I could not overwrite it with Shattersoul, enervation or tearing gust. Unfortunately, it would not overwrite a magic defense down already applied even if it was weaker.

At what point in ffxi history has SE ever used the word reforge in this way?

Varga Purnikawa wholly negate Dragon Fangs one benefit (being able to SC Distortion for H2H), especially when you consider that Dragon Blow didn't receive the H2H WS update pass.

I would have picked the Kupo set had I ever won rank 1 as well, before this update at least. Will have to see what the upgraded weapons look like, not that I'd ever win anyway...

The weakness removal rod would be so valuable in certain situations to me. Need to sac somebody? Soloing something with helix and run into double weakness before it's dead? Need to die to reset a mob for some reason? Plus the flex when one of your friends dies and you're able to use it.

The double food duration hat is just a QoL boost so I don't have to spend 3 minutes zoning into escha then back out staring at a black loading screen half the time, I can just throw on the masque and use the wc while the Gluttony enchantment charges and be fresh before playing the game long enough when I would need double food duration. The craft shield and the movement piece are extras

Upgrade the painting... brilliant!

Not gonna lie, if I could reforge the painting just to give it an afterglow aura to tell people who visit my mog house that I threw away not one but two bonanza rank 1 prize choices, the satisfaction I would receive from their disgusted reactions would be far greater than anything any simple weapon could provide.

Double food duration (or more) is already available for the cost of a miniscule inconvenience, unless you're in an instanced zone you can't leave (you can eat food before it) and also food costs are nearly meaningless.

Kupo masque's effect should stack with other double duration effects, for x4. If I could find any possible way to do it, I would love to be able to throw on a nomad moogle shield too, and roll the dice on getting it up to x8. Can you imagine an Altana's repast +2 with 32 hour duration? It would be insane! Mobs from two zones away would be rushing in to aggro and kill me!

... am I the only one who thinks that the kupo set is still basically the best top tier prize? Double food duration, +3 to all crafts, and a get out of weakened free card once per event? And an all jobs 18% movement speed option that doesn't cost you your Adoulin reward ring!

Eiryl is an idiot, I don't think anyone needs to hear that.

I'd say miracle cheer is a nice item, albeit very niche to the point of almost becoming pointless. I'd still get one but wouldn't recommend it to most.

Yagyu is game-changing, but not on anything that matters. It realistically won't offer a new strategy on anything difficult, but you can do some funny memeing in easy *** which is novel.

Onion sword 3 is the most practical and offers the most novel options and new possibilities.

Pandit's staff offers incredibly little, but not nothing! Far from game breaking or meta changing.

Diamond aspis is a really nice option and very powerful, though still not really changing anything strategy-wise, it does offer the user a nice boost to their performance.

Maybe dragon fangs are nice for those jobs, but i doubt they'd offer a significant change to any strats or viability.

Pretty sure the rest are memes that suck. Did I forget any?

Am I the only person who would get 2 different weapons if they won twice? We don't have all of the details yet, but I feel like that's still the play. Make a broken weapon even more OP or just make 2 broken weapons?

None of them are broken, or even good, so yes you are in the very small minority that would take 2 different weapons.

Tarage said: »

Youve got to be pretty dense if you dont know which one. It's more fun that it annoys you than to tell you.

Literally every single time someones says "bonanza" literally every parrot says the same thing. I'd pick dis one.

You mistake my desire to nail your *** to the wall for me caring about your opinion, or the weapons at all. I care about neither, I just wanted you to actually back up your *** for once. However as usual, you are trying to leave yourself an escape route to slink away when someone does eventually call you out for being idiotic. You are, after all, a coward.

According to Eiryl there is only one weapon worth getting, and even then it's not actually.

He still won't say which one it is. Too afraid to get called out on his *** as usual.

I gather "traditional" engineering careers like mechanical, electrical, civil, nuclear, etc are still heavily degree focused for the most part. I had one mechanical engineer explain to me that the reason for this is that the degree programs focus on not just practical application, but the physics behind it also. Again though it probably depends on the industry, I've worked with folks that were in heavy EE roles without an EE degree. At the same time I doubt you'll get a job working as a civil or mechanical engineer without relevant degrees. Some of these also have various certification/licensing paths you need a degree to obtain or you won't get hired.

I think this is where CS programs think you need an absurd amount of math that most people will rarely, if ever use in any capacity. The CS professors I have met over the years and queried on this seem to think you still get some kind of baseline from it, but I've never met anyone that was outside academia and found that accurate - unless you were writing academic papers. I've seen the code they write (the papers, for that matter, too) - they'd have been a lot better off spending time understanding architecture concepts as opposed to taking 6 levels of calculus. The really weird part being that most of them aren't teaching low level or native languages. They're gonna make you take a shitload of math "to build foundation" but then teaching...Java? The issue for me is that these programs don't seem to teach good background/fundamentals or practical application, which I gather is in contrast to other traditional engineering degree programs.

Also I think the difference is there isn't necessarily as much structure needed to learn these subjects. Most people can setup a CS lab freely and easily especially these days, mistakes are easy to spot and overcome. It's an issue of motivation most of the time and willingness to do it, which applies to people with and without degrees, but also applies to more than what you'd consider your traditional development roles as well.

My industry is kinda weird and niche, though, I'll admit because there aren't really good degree programs and CS just kinda puts you a little closer to where you should be. Everything else is on your own and everything is constantly changing. Most of the industry sucks too, so it's easy to stand out, you just need to be the shiniest turd in the toilet, which isn't hard if you care even a little bit and have a tiny bit of motivation.

If people start doubling up, we expect the same overall Rank 1 win rate, but each of them would represent a reforged mog bonanza weapon. In one bonanza, the number of first time winners with a reforged weapon (~75?) would crush the number of second time winners (2.5).

That said, many of those marbles are doubtlessly bought on mules, where it still makes sense to pick two different numbers.

Tl;Dr: who knows

The odds of those 1273 people winning out of 126050 entries is less than 1%. SE wasted development time on something that has less than a percentage chance of happening.

Half these people have already quit, but assuming they're all still playing and all buy 2 pearls, odds that one of them gets a winning pearl and can upgrade their prize is 1273/500, or about 250%.

Can you explain your math there? The 1273 I get, the 500 I do not.

Think of it this way:
You can pick two numbers from 0 to 999. We'll round that up to 1000 possible numbers to make the math a little easier.

0-999 is 1000 numbers. The math already works.

Your odds winning on two separate occasions(with different numbers)
vs your odds winning once picking the same number for both pearls.

vs being able to pick two different numbers and only having to win once?

Probably not winning in any case, but one of these feels better than the other two.

You people are missing that in FFXIV, the Tarutaru equivalent are literally dwarves in one of the expansions. Beards and everything. I don't see how the Japanese playerbase can be confused by this when their own people made the connection years ago.

And after I typed this I saw Khajit already made that point but whatever I'm keeping it in.

Unrelated: I'm sad we never returned to Alara. I liked those sets and I want more blue artifact creatures with cool metal ***.

Maybe in "developer land" not "Engineer" land, I can't speak for all companies but for the 2 I have been at the pick pay for my degree as it is a requirement for an engineering position.

Maybe it is a sexist thing but I rarely believe that as a deciding factor in anything.

At any rate different fields/industries different requirements.

2025.02.13.log:[03:52:32] [03:52:32] Rank 2 prize: "27" (last two digits)- 1,782 winners.
2025.02.13.log:[03:52:32] [03:52:32] Rank 1 prize: "635" (all three digits)- 152 winners.

How do we interpret this? Do we assume that everyone buys 2 of the same number, so there were really only 76 winners? How many of these 'wins' are negated by the fact that it's someone's mule?

I also feel like people should be allowed to buy more pearls if the expectation is that you need to win twice to fully unlock your prize.
