26k average Fudo with Masa without real char BRD COR buffs is unheard of but 21k Fudo with Doji under the same scenario is perfectly realistic?
It's not but you're still missing the point. The WS damage of the first 3 WS is pretty irrelevant when 4 stepping it, only the 4th WS damage when damage is unlocked and the subsequent Radiance (or double light) sc damage really matters. I'm pretty sure Doji would win but then I've only ever done about 300 this way and never used Masa for it. I will try it next time.

You guys are taking this way too seriously. RA has no idea what he is talking about, he just wanted an opportunity to bash FF16. He doesn't even know what unions do.

There's no Biggs and Wedge right?

Was there ever ones in the DATs, unused? Or references to them?

Oh and I had to google, how can they do a phone call in hyperspace? Disney really stretching those limits
Seeing as how hyperspace is a fictional concept you can do what you want with or within it.

In a lot of SF a space ship in hyperspace is in its own bubble outside of normal space so no external communication including visual. In some stories hyperspace is a different spacial dimension so you can see normal space and communicate faster than light.

Pay your money for the fantasy you can suspend disbelief in.

Full disclosure: I have no idea how star ward cannon handles hyperspace except for the Fx entering it.

Thief is for farming the ex NM drops for upgrades not the pop drops.

Sure, but if this guy is soloing it on a single character then he's either going to do both (Apademak & the pop item farming) on the same job, or he's gonna have to warp and change jobs every time he gets a pop, which is unrealistic and wasteful.

So ultimately the decision comes down to which single job is better at doing both, because using different jobs for each part isn't practical.

Another reflection on the dbox/AH method for pop items, you're also resetting all your lights when you go back to town, so you're constantly screwing up your lights. If you go to farm Sisyphus fragments and want to farm 50 of them, you need to get 1, warp, dbox it, go get another, warp, dbox it. Every time you have to rebuild pearl and amber lights (assuming no campaign). If you're farming them while using them, you farm lights once and you're good to go for all 40-50 fragments you need.

I guess you could say spending 30 hours before you farm DK could save you 10 hours while farming it (made up numbers) but...you still spent 20 more hours in abyssea so is that really saving time?

For a solo character I don't think anything holds a candle to THF/WAR for all of Daurdabla.

Th4 is pretty good for empy farming.

A real thief with th8 makes double items drop a lot more though.

Thief is for farming the ex NM drops for upgrades not the pop drops.

Sounds extremely dialed in with little room for error. Which is the easiest job to play in that? BLM?

Honestly, this is the most algorithmic fight of the T3s. If you follow this, you don't need luck to beat it.

Easiest job is geo. Just sits there, as always. Lol

Little late on the comment here but been mia a while. It is a little dialed in but tbh doing the fight both as a 2 KI and a 3KI, 3KI was pretty dang easy lol. I highly suggest people explore it if the fight is causing headaches.

I also 2box so I bring THF and NIN to everything, but if i had to choose only one, I'd say THF is better for soloing most of the time. THF/WAR gets...10/13 procs?

My experience at this involves 99.99% of your NMs will need those 3/13. I always go NIN/War and load up on th gear, drops aren't really super rare.

A new(ish) tip...make use of the recycle bin. You can keep multiple rare items in there which immensely saves the time you need running around. You can now focus and load up on one pop item at a time, just don't forget they are in there and zone or log off.
By sandman16 on 2025-05-25 05:51:02
If you farm DK on thf and red is katana or GK, you can always flee to conflux, port away, port back and red proc will change. I also use this when farming cerb, or hydra nms.

Presumably the relic +4 head for drg will cap the new breath cap
The breath+ cap increased by 50%, from 64/256 to 96/256.

On the other hand, looking at the progression of breath+ values on the Armet since it became Pteroslaver...

Pteroslaver NQ 49/256
Pteroslaver +1 56/256(+7/256)
Pteroslaver +2 64/256(+8/256)
Pteroslaver +3 72/256(+8/256)

So it's been increasing mostly in increments of +8/256. Assuming they keep to this basic pattern, then the +4 would be 80/256. with the cap still being 96. So it's unlikely to cap with just the Armet again unless they spike the values significantly over previous increments. They'd have to boost the Armet by 24/256 going to +4 to make it cap breath+ alone again. Which is triple the increase recent increments have gained.

Can still easily cap with Armet+Brigantia's regardless of what they do with the Armet. Although, currently when used with the +3 Armet, 14/256 of Brigantia's Breath+ is going to waste. And even more will be wasted if they further increase the Armet value. Which makes Updraft mantle a more appealing option again. Though I do wish we could get some pet macc+ on Updraft(breath+ aug, thus no cap.) And... I don't really wanna use Lancer's Torque or Glassblower's belt to fill in some of the non-aug breath+, even if they are strictly speaking more breath potency. The macc loss for elemental breaths is huge, and There are defensive and HP uses for those slots for Healing breaths. And HB is already massive overkill in the amount cured most of the time.

I think in the US there is far too much unionization, and so companies are trying to instead use british voice actors to get away from them. The unions are utter rot, because they powercreep too much to make as much money and be as draconian as possible for their own corporate interest (the unions are businesses now, with highly paid executives and with the goal of forcing everyone to join their union to pay fees)

The issue is that many voice actors in the UK are mostly garbage (the best ones move to the US), the US voice acting scene is very good and if not for unions they would be universally used by near everyone.

Square enix money saving mode (Yoshi P specialty) voice acting is often terrible (ff16 va = mostly all leltrash), the only reason many in the US think they are good is the middle class coastal population in the US (kind of people who tend to play 14 and 16) massively fetishize english posh accents and can't tell if they are good or not. Elden Ring has very high quality british VA, ff16 (and much on 14 for that matter) sounds like turbo trash they paid some people on wish to fart out of their pieholes.

With AI, the entire problem won't be one much longer though.

Are there any potential problems with a large address aware patch?

I recently suggested adding something like this to windower, as a built in function. The issue with XI, is everything you do adds onto the 2gb design limit (windower addons eat into the ram limit of XI, mods eat into it etc) and if you get too high, then you'll black screen at some point or have other issues.

For instance if you have 16gb ram and you multibox, then have this large address patch is there any chance it could bring a whole load of other problems?

If not then something like this should be built into every launcher for XI at this point (assuming it's not a massive amount of work)

DEI hiring is the most stupid thing a creative industry can do, it's still amazing to me how they went all in on it.

When you hare a bunch of DEI they are going to be mediocre at their jobs, and when you hire mediocre people they are just going to steal stuff to do the jobs they aren't able to do.

The only saving grace is AI is going to replace most of these people now, who they will soon be laying off.

10 years ago customers would have hated the idea of AI, today with western games almost universally being crap? Who is going to argue against something that will improve quality and offer bigger games?

I can see Square Enix fully embracing AI, if they are not already doing it. Their biggest problem is being unable to hire new staff (cause of Jp laws not allowing layoffs), this fixes that.

I'm seeing people change hair model/color in the same race a lot, it's almost like a barber.

Wait what if the next thing is new race, Male mithra? Will they continue with the XIV type stuff? I think it might be lore breaking.

T’would appear that Seun is deeply against the idea of a Male Mithra, at least in jest lol.

Would people care if a male mithra or female galka was just a face and hairstyle swap? You have the same animations, just with 'borrowed' VA from male and female of another race?

Making these changes would require resources we don't have. Even if we did have them, I'd much rather see them directed toward changes that would impact the entire game rather than a minority of the minority.

Just my perspective, but the job identity crisis is more pressing than race and gender.

The guildwork plugin works for you? It makes me crash so i had to disable it.

It does work well, I have never stopped using it since... forever! :D

I've found GW does not recognize some REMA weapons nor updates them. It does also tends to crash FFXI when expanding your chat log + scrolling through chat log. The GW website is all but gutted at this point.

GW has nothing to do with the expanding chat log thing, that happens with base windower (and even the base client, if windower is running on another instance).

Of course GW is super broken, has been for years, and nobody cares about it anymore. There are like 20 threads complaining about REMA not updating anymore.
