Yesterday I received an invite for my online course conclusion celebration.

The entire course was pretty long, 4 years, but indeed, aside the exams, it was entirely online: I got some material, got some short videos, had to deliver a couple of works, exercises and eventually exams.

But I never got to meet any of my supposed teachers. Nor any of my supposed colleagues.

And in the invitation, it was written: call your family to celebrate this impressive achievement. The speaches will be deliver3d online, and here is the Youtube link for it.

I couldnt help but feel awkward. Just imagine "calling my family" to watch youtube. As an excuse of my new graduation.

It was actually my second university. My first one was a real and conventional one, with major party and hundreds of students gathered.

Maybe signs of the times. I dont think this university was "bad" just because it was online.

I just feel cheap the entire concept of being online for this.

Also there is this philosophicsl question: by learning everything from static media, maybe this is just an illusion of an university. I was always alone in this trip thus what means it has celebrating.like a real graduation?

Wonder if they're upping the level to 140 with this patch.
That would mean, potentially, more points per time spent doing limbus!
Emphasis on that "potentially" because at a certain point you need to balance points per kill vs killspeed, I guess.

That's annoying as someone who has done a lot of limbus and can say the points are much more of a limiting factor than the matter, especially if you've been rotating your chests.

It would have helped a little early on when the cap on points was still low at least so if you haven't done much limbus yet its decent I guess.

Alabaster Matter is the new 1500 point item, lol. Does this mean January login will be Murky Matter?

Is there any chance to add cycling back through the hotkeys method?

If so this would completely remove my reliance on ffxo switchmon :D

Honestly kind of expect both of the new gear sets to just be the new starter point gear given that limbus is a more casual/solo/entry level event.

An accessible set of gear that comes with a level of meva/dt that previous entry level gear was lacking.

I can probably no longer put off farming this -_-
I hate Temenos but Apollyon isn't so bad

So based on the notes Omega/ultima is just going to be NMs similar to the Job themed ones and killing them (or being on a server that kills them maybe) will allow you to get their item from your weekly 5 chests.

The gear will come from turning said chest items into the furnace and probably has ranks that work exactly like the current accessories.

FWIW, I'm rank 7 (bumped up by the patch) and I've never done any monstrosity, chocobo racing, or chocobo digging. No idea what pre-adoulin quests you may be referring to. I might have done them, might have not. I've basically only done quests with a good reward/reason to do them.

My experience this month

I was bumped from rank 5 to 6 at the update and still at rank 6 after doing the following:
-ROE's from 400 to 850.
-All the AF quests for all jobs.
-All ROE Notorious monsters.
-Maats cap.
-Synergy from 40 to 80.
-Cooking to 110 with all key items (my first craft)
-2 other subcrafts to 30.
-30 days into raising a chocobo.
-Other 2 nation missions to rank 10.
-All titles from buying each tier of conquest point items from each nation.
-Abyssea from 0 to 6 zones completed. Working on the last 3 now.
-4 or 5 ranks up in campaign.
-Bought the last 100 spells, songs, scrolls i was missing.
-Skilled up all combat and magic skills to lvl 99 caps.

I had to create a new account during Adoulin release when I returned to the game and since then I have pretty much cleared all content except Bumba v25, HM Aminon, and none of the master trials. My thoughts are that I am stuck at rank 6 because of all the pre-adoulin quests, titles, and things like monstrosity and chocobo racing/digging. Looking forward to the monstrosity EXP campaign in December.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone here ever completely finished a crafting shield (earned the title), and then thrown it away and made a second, different shield? I'm wondering is the bard NPCs remember that you have both of those titles, or if that's one where the game resets your progress and only remembers the most recent. Not that anyone would ever do that, just curious if it's even possible to earn more than one on the same character.

Presumably to reach 10 you'll need all those 1000 titles and every crafting shield title.

I just saw that there are titles for doing each of the Mog Garden Tasks (Pond Dredger ect) 1000 times. I dunno if I'll be able to stomach more daily trips to my Mog Garden.

Took us months! Months, I tell you!

I was at rank 6 and I had ~300 RoE objectives completed. I went ahead and did a bunch of RoE to get up to ~600 and was still stuck at 6. Lastly, I went out and capped my Katana, Great Katana, and Throwing on NIN and that seemed to push me to Rank 7.

Finally starting to do some (all) sub-crafts to see if that'll put me at rank 8.

Someone mentioned earlier that they marked a bunch of RoE AF quests complete and got from Rank 7 to 8.

I can also confirm that my alt got from Rank 5 to 6 through RoE AF (page 3, the one with SCH, GEO, etc).

So I feel like the logic for these Rank-ups is:

MinimumTitleCount(Rank) + Any(Rank Up Qualifier)

I think this is one logical explanation for how this could be designed and why there a few data points have shown many people with Rank 7 and 400/600/800/1000 RoEs completed. I can be wrong, but my suggestion would prevent someone from getting Rank X witout also doing something specific in a piece of content or something that SE just expects or wants players today. (I already suspect Medal of Altana is one of these qualifiers, but I have no proof, yet).

If anyone observes another condition that gives them a Rank Up, please share!

They're also adjusting entry placement, and planning to disable EXP loss in the shared areas when the January update lands.

shields/grips really need more variety. Both have like 2 or 3 stellar options(more in the case of shields if PLD) then its just a long long list of meh.

The problem is they made Ammurapi too good.

Clubs are a bit weaker than staves from a nuking standpoint, but theres no grip that comes anywhere near what Ammurapi offers.

Even if it caps at 700, you can now reach cap with weapons locked (losing the 21 skill from puku+augmented forfend). Renewing temper without having to unlock weapons is pretty nice for a number of longer events, like dyna.
