I have serious doubts about their license expedentures even making a dent in their overall revenue from game pass. Anything more than 10% of that 5 billion would shock me. Im even skeptical of that number simply because where are the games? Looking at this year, what third party AAA games did they have at launch?
MH Wilds? No
AC: Shadows? No
Expedition 33? Yes
Night Reign? No
Borderlands 4? No
FF tactics? Might not qualify, but no.
Looking to the future...GTA 6? Hell no.
So one game from a small studio, seriously doubt that that licensing fee was more than a few million. Maybe 50, lets give them 50m. Everything else is either old or first party. They aren't losing a lot of money to license fees.

Well regardless of the specific mechanics I'm glad that some of my friends can finally get the last piece they need.

So if you're group is trying to take on content at native levels, maybe just level a job you won't be using? There are 22 of them does your group need to you have all 22 available at low levels?
(also maybe try and go into a mission and set level sync?)

I mean - imagine you're looking at a Jenga tower that a few thousand people have been playing for twenty-odd years, and are loudly passionate about seeing continue. Are you gonna make a safe move, or try to yeet something structural?
Also, c'mon... SE never met a mystery box they didn't like.

You can't level sync the mission fights, unless everyone is lying to me. So I can't go above the cap we set for ourselves.

I don't know if this has been documented anywhere else, but I ran a new character through Adoulin Missions and did a little counting.
Rank 1 Adoulin fame
Life on the Frontier: 4 imprimaturs
Arciela Appears Again: 8 imprimaturs
Yggdrasil: 16 imprimaturs
Should be significantly quicker to get through these missions once they shorten base imprimatur regeneration time next update.
The requirement for missions is actually Adoulin Fame, and although the biggest factor on that is Imprimaturs, other quests partecipate. I had a character able to progress with "only" 12 imprimaturs spent because I did other Adoulin quests on it in the meantime - tho this was 2018 so I have no idea what I did. I was mostly collecting new data on the new maximum requirements, since rank 1 fame is what my mule remains at after all that coalition tasking and mission grinding. Only needing 16 total imprimaturs spent to remove adoulin mission blocks now means the main bottleneck remains all the in-game-day waits between several of the missions. Which is still an improvement.

Yes its confusing, but thank you. I find many things confusing until you experience them and they quickly make sense, I have mostly v5 clears at this point (and a decent bank of segs), but I'd like to start putting some RP in the gear.

It is true, but as Dodik already said, you'd have to skip amping first or second NM which makes it pointless.

Returnees and people starting new, as rare as they are, will very quickly get blocked on Adoulin missions waiting for imps - been there.
It makes sense for SE to make the starting player experience smoother, and we can only take their word at face value on there being a higher amount of new players as of late.

Once you have the initial 3NM run completed, you can continue to do 3 NMs and expend the bonus on the first NM while replenishing it for next the run.
You can expend the bonus on ANY of the 3 NMs, doesn't have to be the first one.

Gamepass made around 5 billion dollars last year for Microsoft. Its a monthly fee of course it makes money. Seems like they are banking on the COD crowd to push through the price hike and keep the service alive. Thats quite a gamble.

Gamepass has made no money for ages, and it's bad for developers in the long run.
However it's pretty obvious they are trying to build a market for this kind of service, where you don't buy games anymore and just rent access.
They want to be Netflix for games, they don't want these console wars anymore cause they suck and can't compete.

UNM coffers give you gil if its a rare item you already have. Yea, I think they just took this code and had it give you another malignance coffer since the fallback was already there.

Like 100% of the people who do missions now are rank 1
And they only spam the adoulin repeat quest cycle to get high enough to progress

Gobbie box will give you a random goblin item if your reward would have been something you already had. Same for abjuration dial IIRC

Lol.
Gamepass is for the time rich it seems. Who has time to play all this stuff.
Barely manage to go through a game every few years.

They must have not wanted to go through the work of adding the Malignance pieces to an NPC via an exchange reward system where you could just pick your reward, and decided on this dice roll method.
The wild part is that they couldn't check which pieces you already have and give you one you don't without forcing you to reopen the box. Must not have any custom handling on box use. Writing code to silently reroll until it's a valid piece would take less than 2 minutes for a private server.

Funny because nintendo disagreed with that after the NES was flooded with low quality unregulated games.

what ever happened to quality over quantity?
Sometimes even "bad" games have something worth experiencing.

Ok I think I get it, so long as you can do 5% on v25 (and are consistently doing V25s?), you'll always get enough RP back to justify an amplifier. Even if you're low on segs you can convert them back.

MS are not a charity.
Come on people, let's be real.
Yes, you are right, there are several reasons a company would continue to prop up a service or product that makes no profit.
None apply to gamepass.
Unless either of you have any reasons to suggest why MS would increase prices other than to make profit.
