Let's talk about break points in Limbus.
As we all know the number of targets you have to kill goes up as the number of players in your party goes up.
I've done some tests, but would love confirmation, and it seems to me this number goes up in tiers.
4-5 people in Temenos is the same amount of targets required to kill (4 in Northern, Western and Eastern tower).
Goes up by 1 if you have 6 people.
Also it seems that trusts do count for that. If I have 5 people in pt and summon a trust the number of kills required goes up.
Can anybody confirm or deny this? What is your experience? Anybody found other "break points" in this tiered system?

Where's Temenos ??? on Asura now? used to be North 2 ramp

Just wanted to say thank you very much for updates. I probably use this tool more than I should :)

stick with sakpata or naegling for now, just start grinding that mythic content.
|
|
 |
|
If you can DPS its gonna be naegling, for magic related stuff its malignance sword, for just tanking its kind of a wash beyond burtgang
Brilliance is your top enmity stick even without a high augment roll
Nixxer is an okay just general block sword but i think brilliance is roughly the same block increase via shield skill
Sakpata's is just a decent all-rounder with 10 DT, a nice chunk of HP, and later refresh if augmented
Everything else i can think of immediately was mentioned and could be pretty costly like excal or moraltarch(though idk how useful moraltarch actually is once you have a solid cure set)

|
 |

TBH sakpata doesn't look like a bad choice.
If the main issue is holding hate then a good augmented Briliance is afaik the second best option after burtgang.
malignance sword must be best option vs magic damage and debuff spammers.

Excalibur has some uses. At least Aminon. Unsure what else. I would probably go for that until you get Burtgang.
It's nice to talk about interim steps but TBH, this would just delay the Burtgang significantly, especially in this day & age. Excalibur, especially R15 Excalibur (for the block rate, the only defensive stat), will be 120m+ on most servers.
To OP: Get working on Burtgang, ASAP. The pre-reqs don't take all that long. Investing tens of millions into a stop-gap will just put you further behind the 8ball.
There are niches occupied by the alternatives (Excalibur, Moralltach), but they're extremely niche once you have a Burtgang.

I’m in the same boat of not being anywhere close to a Burtgang. When I need a tanky sword, I use Brilliance. I got lucky to get a max aug on first drop.

Burtgang is the obvious choice yes. It's also the one that wins by miles. Atonement spam is a good way to build and keep hate especially in Odyssey.

Or..You know...PLD can use Naegling

 |

That's plausible. There's a few Mpaca/Tatenashi +1 pieces in those sets which have no ranged accuracy, so that makes sense to add some in the few spots to make up the difference.
|
|
 |
|
I was wondering as well but then my assumption was that it was for the little bit of ranged acc+ it would give and that was bridging the gap on locus/trash mobs. DEX was likely just overkill from an acc perspective I imagine and it spits out AGL for the above reason.
|
|
 |
|
I've updated the sets for NIN
Much respect for your work. Mind explaining why AGI Andartia's is listed in several of your sets? What am I missing here, ranged acc/crit rate?
|
|
 |
|
An idea for those who partake in editing. Can a "*" be added to gear sets that have already been updated on the main page: https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/All_Jobs_Gear_Sets
IE: All Jobs Gear Sets/Dark Knight*
* Denotes gear sets which have been updated to utilize +4 gear.

If such a powerful stone dropped in temenos, maybe ppl wouldn't be whining so much :D

I'm not sure 56% is the number to use here since:
If you're in a different direction you get a bonus, just a different one
Most GEO aren't using -ra spells for nuking (because you'll die if you try)
In order to get half of that, you need to put on a head with 0 MAB and low INT
The % is MBB, which isn't a flat % of all damage (because of where it appears in the magic damage calculation)
It's still a bonus and all that, but it's never going to be a 56% increase in your damage.
|
|
 |
|
I mean, 56% more damage on magic bursts does seem... pretty good.
However, the other bonuses on the other directions seems... good enough anyways?
I think if its a fight where 56% damage bonus is worth it, where magic bursts are your primary source of damage, and the fight takes more than 20 seconds, then sure, Id say its probably worth it.
I think the onus is mostly on the tank though, they're choosing where the enemy ends up so just like, if you're gonna magic burst with a geo, just take the extra 1 second of effort to place yourself east of the geo.

I did this a few months ago. I feel like I overspent, maybe 500k-1M, but the timer is definitely awkward. (Not based on game day, but rather X minutes from the time the qualifying sale occurred).

I messed with mugen a bit when I was a kid, don't remember this one. I see they went with the "let's make combos infinitely long" approach.

By not having Ayanmo in legs and feet you’re killing the accuracy. That’ll hurt more than not having double att if you’re trying to self sc.

I need MORE double attack, what feet and head armor give double attack for whm?

I multibox my own geo and positioning for cardinal chant is already too much effort.

Been a little bit but I've had a few people testing for me and I've been implementing some feedback I've gotten, all the while working on the latest effect that I'm ready to show off...
Bar Drain!
As part of this addition, I've also increased the bar meter granularity by 10 times. Realistically you mostly won't notice the difference, but it enables the smooth motion on the drain effect. It also enabled another update you can barely notice in the above gif (since its quick and the gif frame rate is poo). The Self Action meter is now way smoother than it was before; instead of moving along in chunks, the meter smoothly increases as you're casting.
I should have this next update ready to pass out to my few testers within the next day and see how it goes after a few days of testing it out. If all goes well I'm hoping to get this pushed out officially by early next week!

By the way, Limbus 130 is very good for Job Points. I just did a Temenos climb on my non-mastered WHM (healing is braindead) and got over 120 points from start to finish in about 40 minutes. Was getting about 30k/kill, and I don't think there's a CP campaign going on right now? Easy 2 birds/one stone.

But if you can START the fight out east of the boss(and not have to move again) and don’t, you and your group are bad and should feel bad. This is still accommodating the GEO.
Out of the dozens of GEOs I have partied with or Sortie groups I have been in as the GEO, there have been a total of 0 people who ever considered positioning for Cardinal Chant for the benefit of GEO. Whether you start in the proper direction or not, I promise you, that absolutely is not on anybody's mind (unless you bring it up to them).

I've already been scoping out yard space to build a pizza oven. I've always wanted a brick grill and adding an oven to it would be awesome. Something like this. Would be a ton of fun to build too. My primary care physician built a pizza oven a lot simpler than that. He is a better and more dedicated cook than I.
It went approximately: mound of sand, covered in clay (IDK the type or the thickness) so it was igloo shaped. Cut an arched doorway, let it dry, scoop out the sand, fire it. Again IDK if the firing was inside only or covered too.
His biggest complaint. Whenever his kids want pizza he has to fire the oven up. Four seasons a year. And our seasons range from under 0 to over 100 F, -18 - 38 C.

Well more power to you if you can get your group to move. I personally would not bother positioning properly and would just set up camp as close to the door as possible.

So "reisenjima gear" does not mean artifact/relic, and you know this. The fact that you're now trying to squeeze that descriptor in after your initial posts were unclear is deceptive. Because right here, you specifically isolate them as different sets. No, the discussion is not about a specific set of gear. It's about getting a considerable upgrade as reward for beating a difficult content. I even used relic and af elsewhere in the discussion.
The central point is that going from gear such as reisenjima gear to oddy gear was a huge upgrade. Getting AF+4 is not a major upgrade on the gear that we already have.
You can keep getting hungup on Valorous, because you are trying to make a point that does not have much to do what I am saying.
