they save money and increase productivity.
Lol.
Anyone that's done much work with offshore labour will tell you " increase in productivity" is not why companies use them.
You get what you pay for, as with everything.

They can't just keep closing servers or there would be no servers left in the end.
Maybe they re-open some of the previously shutdown servers.
I'd love to go back to my original, now deceased, server.

Alfania dont win or lose based on arguments or logic.
But throuogh sheer endurance.
You dont need to be right if you can insist in something so much that is humanely impossible to keep going and assume defeat.

I like how companies are now pretending like they thought AI was going to do all the work for them, they they mistakenly laid off lots of workers.
No they laid off all the western white liberal workers, that were costing them lots of money and used AI as the excuse. Now they have hired lots of Indians who will now use AI (the intent all along), and the end result is they save money and increase productivity.
White liberals are soon to be an endangered species in the tech job market.
Hi Nynja, maybe you should do the test yourself if you are interested. I am only interested in correcting Rady's misinformation mostly.
You correct nothing, you lost the argument completely on my initial post.

equally part of the problem is that there is almost zero incentive for vets to help new people catch up. why not give them a tangible reason to go back and redo things for other people? what could it possibly hurt
I've never argued against incentives for vets to help (per se), and I'm on board with it but also...how about vets just help because it's the right thing to do, instead of needing a reward or incentive for it?
Or, and I say this constantly, the new players play the game with each other instead of relying on veterans to help them with everything? There are hundreds of people complaining they can't find a group, unironically.

I just don't see a new player being held back by time gates. Sure, in that one specific area of progress, but it's not like they don't have a laundry list of other things they could do to make progress.
I 1000% agree with this take. Newer players are restricted from odyssey, aman trove, ergon weapons, and a few other minor things BUT, and this is huge and rarely brought up, they have 45 billion other things to do.
IMO, the biggest problem with the new player experience is people (or the new player themselves) trying to leap frog over all the content and go straight to endgame.
If you can't get into a 9 boss sortie run or a V25 boss kill because you don't have an Idris or an epeolatry, maybe you should do a 4 boss run and a v5 clear instead. I'm sure your geo+1 neck and aettir will be fine for that. The same goes for literally everything else. You can kill E HTBF with your 3 songs, you can do wave 1/2 dynamis without a rostam, and can clear N or D ambuscade without 15 REMAs. Just progress through the game, doing the 500 things on your todo list without worrying about not being BIS and being invited into the endiest of endgame stuff.

People are frustrated by auto-target selecting enemies far away from them, even though there are closer enemies they'd prefer to kill first.
Auto-target more-or-less targets left to right, or right of th4 center of your screen, or something like that, but it totally ignores distance. People want it to target based on range instead.
I don't think anyone has suggested it should target enemies behind you because that would be a bit weird, but I guess that's possible too in theory.

I'm not advocating for making things easier just for the sake of them being easier.
I feel like you're advocating for it being easier for the sake of making alts, though I feel like you should probably just say that. New players have so much other content to do that a time gate is mostly artificial.
I've never multiboxed a day in my life, never will, have 2 mules for alexandrite storage and random mats, and play the game entirely for fun. I do not like FFXI enough to pay that much money per month for less than 30 hours play time. Completely casual and never will care enough to be anything but. All of my posts over the years confirm I am NOT that invested in FFXI to give a damn about making the game easier for some advantage in a 23+ yr old video game, lol...
If your gut is telling you that I'm advocating for alt ease for some self-benefit, you're way off base and you should never trust your gut or hunch on anything for the rest of your life.

The dev notes for Oct update says the renewal is for November update. Carry over points from Oct will be reduced to 700 going into Nov update. Buuuuuuut they say its going to be better rewards, whatever the *** that means. Could be Gobbie SP dials, could be gear upgrade items. People who have all mules created already might luck the *** out.
Keep in mind that the dev team has absolutely no concept of how desirable and valuable a given reward actually is. Look forward to 1 alexandrite, byne bill, whiteshell, or bronzepiece for 1500 login points.

After they close odin, it will take so long to close the 4th server, asura will reopen.
It is incredibly stupid to do. But that's never stopped them before.

tell me again that GEO's the buff job in a weird position. to be faihhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
The debuff nerfs are incredibly heavyhanded. Theres nerf, and then there is a full on -95% potency.
Also would be nice of there was an AIO spot on the wiki listing the content where offensive indicolure is nerfed and what the nerf is.

This is just dumb to keep locking down server after server. Will they all be locked down eventually? First Asura, now Bahamut, next is?

So the next login campaign is up. Literally no change.
Didn't even notice they put it up. I guess it'll start being different in December....?

(weapons was pretty good but not a theater movie) All the comments of how cool and fresh a trope was of not letting vampires into your homes without inviting them in made me smile.
Like a generation growing up without buffy on tv
About that... I've never seen "vampire can't enter place of business" so it was kind of new. Homes. Always.

Superman was not worth the ticket price, but then again, not many movies were this year. Writer's strike is affecting everyone. Although I am looking forward to the Springsteen biopic.

AI requires context.
So you must say: user Alfania and user Rady from FFXIAH site.

I must admit AI description of me seems in line with what I think of myself.
AI just forgot to mention how great and amazing Im.

If you're going to have function if end end everywhere might as well write C and use { and };
Due to a number of factors, especially that EVERYTHING IS A TABLE, lua lends itself pretty well to ifless flows. Most recent stuff I write for myself has very little IFing going on!
