Their mindset seems to be that if something is doing well, it's a waste to put more resources than necessary into it and so put that money into new things.
This is ok if they have the ability to make new things that do well, but they simply don't anymore. Most of the things they make are failures.
This is the reason you invest heavily in success, but Yoshida never learned this lesson from Blizzard it seems.

Does anyone have a solid cure cheat set? looking to max cure potency and cure potency received and throw in HP+ gear for enmity control.
I'd highly argue against this approach. Especially for PLD. If you need self-cures enmity to maintain hate as PLD you might be doing something wrong.
Have a strong SIRD+Enmity set in your cures and make good use of your job abilities and spells. |

What?
You either need 102% SIRD or a 100% block rate on everything that's hitting you and everything in front of you. The only alternative is timing your spells between enemy autos, which...good luck with multiple mobs on you.
Anyway, this guy wasn't asking for a good cure set, he wants a "cure cheat set" which i presume means a set to either drop HP before the cure or increase HP in the cure midcast set, to allow you to cure for enmity even when your HP is max.
I don't have a set like this, which is why I didn't chime in earlier. You likely need a separate pre- and mid-cast set for this cheese too, though idk, I've not really looked that much into options.
Keep in mind though, cures aren't great at building hate, SUPER ESPECIALLY if you are tanking multiple mobs. Could be OK for kiting Sortie or Ody bosses but JA are much more potent and don't require you to stand still for significant periods of time.

Cure is pretty straight forward now with Majesty; you'll be hard pressed to need SIRD, even with multiple mobs.
Majesty gives you an automatic +25% on potency II
What you're aiming for are 3 specific things:
Cure Potency Received +30% (can get from Abjuration gear pieces)
Cure Potency I +50% total
DT capped
Then you can mix in ENM+, HP balances, etc.
It's not difficult to max any of these and still keep HP high. Odyssean Greaves for example have 7% base and can be augmented with an additional 5-6, and have SIRD to boot

I wouldnt even consider whats written by the journos to be factual, because they'd very easily lie to the general public. The shareholder reports are where the real numbers come out. Remember when I said this over and over, and Viciouss did his usual "conspiracy theory" spiel?

It's always amusing to me that XI is always counted towards XIV on financial reports. I know they merged the games together, and all the money we pay does goto XIV operations but it would be nice if they just said it on the financial reports, instead of gaslighting the investors that it's all just XIV. XI does bring in tens of millions a year. XI makes way more money than DQ10.

I think he means the video I posted. Not gonna spoil anything here. FF7 Remake/Rebirth do have good story telling.
If I could redo my first Rebirth playthrough, I would skip every single side quest. Not a single one of them has anything to do with the main story. FF16 did side quest right, everything is tied to the main story.

PLD isn't overly complex, doesn't really "need" fast cast or a whole lot of bells and whistles.
Most content maintaining capped SIRD/DT with enmity+ is going be more favourable which you can do and not have massive dips to HP/DT that a fast cast set is tyically known for. IMO focus should be on making the following sets maintaining capped DT/HP balance.
Tanking set
SIRD enmity set
SIRD cure set
Phalanx set (this one will fluctuate a lot and lacks DT but a very important set)
Max Enmity set
Outside of using fast cast efficiently for casting jobs, gearswap is more just a QoL thing. Equipsets can and do work just fine.

What part of FF7 is that supposed to be? Rebirth? That’s supposedly everything after Midgar and a little bit after the original 1st disc. I got curious and googled the trajectory but nothing else; didn’t want to be spoiled in case of plot changes/twists.

I have a 7800 X3D and a 3090 and gone are the days of just setting to Ultra on stuff now. Games are very demanding these days and I definitely can see where the DLSS framegen stuff is helping keep fps high. I just dropped Expedition 33 from high to mid with a few things kept high, runs so much better.
Did I mention how happy I am for another GPU shortage and scalper market? Will us gamers ever get to purchase GPUs at MSRP again?
9800X3D with 7900 XTX, both OC'd on water and this game definitely demands a lot of GPU cycles. It's due to all the lighting and shadow effects, they make the game look gorgeous and give ambience but eats GPUs alive. Thankfully there are to levels of settings, first is the usual gneric Medium/High/Ultra, but then they have a built in XeSS/DLSS/FSR setting that lets you pick how much of native you want to render at. Setting it to 50% means you are rending at half resolution and upscaling, basically what consoles do, setting to 100% means you are rendering native with anti-aliasing. Knock it down to 66~75% and you should get a good frame rate boost. |

The short answer is that the 'Ultimate Engine Tweak' thing isn't actually an improvement for many people in many situations. It's something thrown together by an idiot who has no idea what he's doing for donations from other idiots who don't realize it's a placebo.
The video I linked goes over quite a bit starting around 43:00 if you're actually interested.
Yeah those engine overrides are really only useful in edge cases, done by people who know what they are doing. Getting a particular game running "well" on low end hardware for example, usually because the developers never bothered making a profile for it in the first place. |
