They did say in the patch notes or the pre-release commentary that respawn was 1min, and you can see this clearly in Temenos when you fight in the middle of mobs, kill 1-2, and then get overwhelmed with respawns, especially solo. In Temenos, they definitely have their own set camps/respawn points, but I have also seen in Apollyon where I've cleared a handful of mobs near the entrance of each floor, and respawns were much further out/nowhere near where I initially pulled them. I see this especially on Undead or Demon floors. Maybe the respawn points are much larger in Apollyon since the floors are open area?

Mobs have a 1min respawn timer. A single DD can't keep pace but a fully buffed party would probably need 2 camps. Not sure about this, in Apollyon I was soloing mobs way slower than this and they weren't respawning. That or they don't necessarily have set spawn points.

I've been trying out Lycus' Bst lua
I like alot of things in it, and I've pulled over all the stuff from my previous lua that it doesn't have.
I don't think Lycus is still playing. hasn't been a post or updates for 3 years.
The nice features include weaponlocking, the hud and weaponcycling.
However, it seems the sub weapon cycling breaks when player is not dualwielding.
I've been looking thru it and I can't find where it breaks down. I had it very briefly working bst/war. but after changing jobs and reloading it doesn't actually swap the sub slot anymore. the hud shows the value changing, but the equip doesn't actually swap.
Wondering if fresh eyes could help.
Best regards.

At 30-45 seconds a kill? Probably can be faster
But let's say you are completely the objective at 4mins max
At an hour that's roughly ~15 objectives
If it's 85
1275 ?
That doesn't sound too terrible to throw on a show and just mindlessly do it instead of dealing with sneak and invis.
It's probably an even better rate than what I napkined
Personally, I could only see myself doing this in Tenmos, appollyon just feels better to actually do the objective all around because I don't have to bother with sneak or invis.

It's also not really 630TP. It's 730 with just master WAR and realistically 830, because you will always have at least +2 Fencer. Now 95% of the time it will be 860, because you will have at least +3 Fencer and then +350tp from gear, so effectively 2210TP at 1000TP.
Guess I've been misreading fencers total tp bonus for awhile then. I still think it comes down to if you have that missing 10% haste or not though and just further pushes that if you do have samba that single wield fencer is probably better

Has it aged well in terms of gameplay?
I think so yes. The video has gameplay from the first PS1 game that was 3D. There was an earlier game that was top down isometric, that one is not worth playing.
The games are platformers and old school ones at that. They're mostly a vehicle for the story, the gameplay is nothing to write home about.
The scenery, environments and opponents are all part of the storyline, well worth playing through.

DMC 3 is one of the most overrated game in the series imo But it's the first game that pushes DMC to become what it is today, so I'll give it some credit I guess..... While I can't make an argument based on specifics because I only played those games on release, and only once each, DMC3 is fondly remembered and has classic status (not for me) probably because it was a big step up from its prdecrssors (and brought it back it to "loved" status after the slop that was DMC2). It evolved combat and further solidified the IP's identity as cool stylish action. Historically, I think it was a milestone entry.
I think it's about time I replayed DMC5 on a brutal difficulty to scratch the hard game itch after Lies of P

Maybe I'm just not aware of what bots are capable of but the only two mobs that don't aggro sound/sight and don't link are dolls and pots in Temenos. Is that what they're botting or are they capable of crowd control as well? I've seen them clumped in the middle of rooms in Temenos. BRD COR GEO RDM, 2 DD - the mobs get killed fast.
There was a room in Temenos I went into the corner against the wall as just SAM+BRD with Sylvie, Koru, Cherukiki and I'm confident I could afk camp there and not die if I wanted to without more chars even. Add a COR in there and any more bodies you can get and you'd have a safe camp.

These things dont hit hard and they die fast. Hmm that's true isn't it.

In Tenmos 130
170
85
85
Is the bonus the same for subsequent attempts? because if it stays at the second value I could see the appeal to just sticking around especially if the mob type is dying faster than the ones at the doors.
You'll get 85 on loop after that. Doesnt diminish at all over time. I've hung around on a floor (legit lol) 2-3 times. It's nice not to have to sneak invis and port up every 2 mins or so. But killing the same 5 mobs over and over for more than idk 30-45 mins.. gets dull pretty quick as well. I'd pop SVCC on the BRD, see what the COR can do in terms of resetting/lowering that timer and hang out for 2 SVCCs.

Because when you're botting while you sleep you don't give a ***. People are botting 5500/hr with a full party. Easier to set up than a bot which changes floors, etc.

In a month when it's streamable
Or if these storms happen to knock the juice out on a tuesday again
Definitely not an I'm paying $30 to go see this in theaters movie
tired of reboots and origin stories, but I don't think most people care enough about the characters beyond what they already know to risk making a movie about.

I was under the impression it was halved each time.
It's only halved once. No human is going to sit there and spam mobs nonstop for 170 points, the appeal is for bots who are literally not there amassing free points

The point requirements feel too high for me for the +5 to take points. The grind is pretty brutal since it is so boring as it is.
What I'd like to see is something like if you fill the bar with one mob type you get a KI in inventory to pop an NM of that beastman race or mob type. These NMs give 500 points per kill and also can drop items for +5. Say it takes 5 items to +5 and the drop rate is 12% per slot (TH increases it, yay for making THF useful) and there are 2 slots. It will still be brutal but beats it become afk bot content which it has already.

Many Great Axe weaponskills are pretty bad unless you hold until you have 2000+
That's not much different than axe tbh. Mistral, calamity, and uh, spinning axe? Are your best axe ws' and they arent exactly shiners until 2k+ as far as phys dmg goes. You have decimation but that entirely hinges on main handing a different weapon.
You covered the main reason to use gaxe over axe; need that missing job haste, if you got that then its an easy push for axe as you get +630 TP and gain TP at a similar rate to a 2 hander at the cost of no utility WS/limited good SC path options

After a few weeks of digestion time, I think:
I think they are going to make the grind longer with +5. It seems unlikely to me that it is going to use Apollyon/Temenos units, but I would not be surprised to see an empy+2 to empy+3/prime weapon-like grind jump with +5.
I really hope its use units to pop NMs that drop upgrade items. (Like Abyssea Emp +1/2)
If its just grind units then botting will be 100% the norm, just like MLs.

If you haven't played the Legacy of Kain (Soul Reaver) series of games.. you are in for a many month treat. Has it aged well in terms of gameplay? I remember bits and pieces from it, but never played it myself back in the day (despite people singing it praises).
Been looking for something to play so might as well give it a try.

Decided to finish DMC1 as well. Man, this game is really something special. we were busy being blown away by DMC1 Welcome to the club
But what's the worst is the fixed camera system tbh. I have no idea why Capcom designers in early 2000 liked fixed camera in action games so much. Onimusha also used fixed camera. Did the fixed camera still bother you, or have you come to accept it as part of the experience?
DMC1 feels like action horror adventure game Because it was conceived originally as the next RE installment (on their quest to create RE4).
Idk, but I sure love DMC1 more than DMC2&3 at least. So do I. DMC2.. you already covered that in an earlier post. As for DMC3, while a good game in its own right, I did not like the shift in mood from grim/dark to campy that became what the series is known for, for life. DMC1 Dante will always be my favorite.

It takes 7 chest opens per zone (~70k points?) to get to 50k capacity right now. Unless you're even less excited about +4 armors than I am, 70k probably isn't enough to cap you out on armors, so you have to choose whether you're going to keep opening chests or just grind away on a floor.

4. My guess is that farming one floor is only ~25% slower than farming chests and is way less effort. They should have made continued repeats keep halving if they wanted to avoid this. If you just bot the content, you're gonna be stuck at a cap of 30k units, so they did incentivize you to do the content proper, especially if the +5 is gonna have larger costs.
