Yeah after raising four chocobo for Mastery Rank, I'm just thinking for the next round of birds I'll be lazy with feed and just use care plans to raise stats and just go crazy with chocobucks. Feed really does seem like a waste of effort.

Its fair to assume that there are parts of the playerbase who use addons but want to avoid crossing the line of automation. Pussies.
Don't judge. This game really should have more visual cues than just an exclamation point above a mobs head (which is rarely used btw). Also, seeing a mob "readies a move." ...is lame. You can totally just not receive that packet and the ready ability doesn't even appear in your chat log. (The same goes for Stuns too, so sometimes the SCH isn't a bad player, they just never got the packet). |

Is there some sort of unlisted mechanic in this fight
Where it can wipe single buffs?
Not via absorb attributes or expunged.
Also I am noticing this at the very start I will lose a song or a roll from what appears to be a certain swing animation
I can't tell if it's my imagination.

This has been my experience as well the past couple days tracking stuff like food and etc.
I did see my STR go up and RCP go down on a random vomp carrot, and I noticed when it happened I got a different feeding animation (red cloud instead of green one like you usually get)
Ive noticed that when your bird eats food, it can get 1 of 2 different colored effects.
IE here is my tracking so far:

I think the "receptive to items" may have been part of this, and I think part of the seeming wild RNG on stat changes from care plans can also be influenced by things like your outcome from the plan (IE carry packages has I believe 2? 3? outcomes), as well as stuff like if they have any modifiers on them (like energetic, receptive, sick, restless, etc)
I haven't witnessed any stat changes from going for long walks, but I'll do a bunch of competitions to see if that ever modifies endurance. |

An item to exit you to the lobby would be nice. Again, not an instance. Theres no item in the game that POS's you around to a spot in the same zone. All of the temp exit items remove you from the zone and put you in a new area. I thought about this after I posted, but they could make the lobby a separate area (I know not going to happen). Eh, could always set home point outside the area I guess if you are going to die and want to get back to it ASAP. |

Hello everyone.
Apologies for not following up on my original post, as after posting it I received quite a few messages ranging from very nice people asking nicely to very angry people asking very angrily to take it down and not talk about it any further with anyone on this site in broad daylight.
However, my sub has expired and since I already concluded all my research/experimentation with Sortie awhile ago, as well as got to learn and experience everything I wanted to in the game, perhaps it might be ok to expand a bit on it and maybe clear up some misconceptions. It's the least I can do in return for all the knowledge everyone has shared here, which I am incredibly grateful for, as I would have never been able to get as far as I did without everyone's help.
Sorry for the misconception, but yes, this is not "legit". It is exploiting a bug I discovered within Sortie around December-January, and was running daily getting about 110k~120k until I quit last month. The limit I came to was 130k, and even that is quite bleeding edge and requires a fair amount of execution (at least for an old boomer like me).
But yeah, to those who were discussing why someone would do this, I guess the issue was that it was all predicated upon the assumption that the person was invested in their account to begin with, which I supposed I am a bit of an anomaly. I never was attached to or invested in my account, nor did I ever play for any material reasons (aside from allowing me to experience more of the game).
I never had any interest in any of the Prime weapons, and I already got all my AF3 a long time ago just doing plain old 8/8 runs. The truth is I just really enjoy the process of exploring, experimenting, and seeing how far I could push things using all the tools I have available to me. That's why I did it, because THAT is what I genuinely enjoy-- taking games apart, turning them inside out, and just poking around places people don't usually venture out into.
For me, THAT is how I define fun, and that's what it was for me, an adventure. And an adventure it was! I enjoyed my time with Sortie, but as I am not a fan of mindless repetition without any potential for imagination, there isn't any reason for me to spend time there anymore farming monopoly money/items. Also, I personally find Sortie (at least doing it legit) terribly dreadful and am not convinced anyone genuinely finds doing that engaging or interesting without having some sort of flimsy artificial carrot stick material gain pushing them to do it, but that's just from the perspective of someone who hasn't committed decades of my life to sitting in this game, so I don't have any sentimental attachment to it, i'm just a tourist I guess.
I am aware this isn't really a conventional perspective to how people should treat and enjoy the game, and that's okay. I apologize if it angered anyone, and I did not mean to come off as comparing myself or what I have done to anyone else with the intention of looking down on anyone, since the only person I compare myself to is the person I was yesterday.
In any case, since I am a fan of sharing knowledge and not some greedy dude who would form a funny elite cabal with his friends and gatekeep this knowledge till the end of time, and would like to give back to the community for all the knowledge they have shared with me that made this possible in the first place, I actually made a full writeup on how the bug works and my 130k route that I was going to share for anyone who is interested. The issue is I have been cautioned by many both nicely and not so nicely to never release it, so I am not sure if/when I will ever release this, or if it will even have any value to anyone in the grand scheme of things.
Perhaps someday I will release it, but at least for now it seems like there isn't a way to really share my findings without everything exploding. Maybe someday!

Not for instances, but Nexus cape can do that for field zones. |

His attitude is definitely weird, and I still consider it likely the only reason he started this posting is because he got banned. But, I have to admit that he wasn't outright lying. He just thought his discoveries were more unique than they actually were and painted a picture that had people expecting more. Yeah, I think the people that understand the mechanics of the game were more expecting to see he found a way to reset the floors, much like the resetting the floors in salvage during the alexandrite dupe period. Not aggro and pulling the mobs to you directly by being out of zone limits. This type of exploit has been done since the games release.
That being said there's a lot of hateful people on this forum, I wouldn't be surprised if in the next month or so we have a ban wave come through removing this type of player.
To address the "not everyone" comment, yeah there are a few that don't but they're also serious no lifers with 60000+ hours playtime. Woot! I still have a life, by 4500hrs or so.

So back to original question, any returning player LS and/or groups looking for members? I wouldn't mind endgame either, but I have a few things I probably need to update gear wise after a 4+ year break

Can I say,I don't understand why people use those kind of cheats?
I mean, if the game offers contents that are built in a specific way, and one uses cheats to clear them...why even bother?
Isn't changing the mechanics of those contents like admitting that the game already defeated you? That you don't like how the game is?
Just change game.

Is 12-15 hours a week 'no life'? I made a billion gil in a year doing ~3 hours of gain exp every week. It's not the most exciting content in the game, but it's mindless and I mastered several jobs in the process. I don't think you have to no life, I think you just need to commit and stay consistent. A little patience helps too. |
