1-There was no mention of it in the patch notes when they explicitly stated that NM kills affect drop rate.
Yes, thank you for your comment, but I'm looking for numbers here.
For what it's worth my data looks like:
135: 9/22
130: 6/12
123: 0/2

Damage Taken trait is separate and additive with Magic Defense Bonus trait. Simply having DT doesn't make up for not having additional MDB on a piece of gear (and by extension magic evasion). Not sure what point is being made by highlighting that.

Obviously gotta wait for patch to see what happens and what it finally says. But what if the tally is good for a month. Presuming one server sits on their hands and kills 0 NMs the previous month, does that mean the month after will have ***drop rate with no way to adjust it for the entire month??
This shortsightedness would be on par for SE though.

Kudos. I figured it was real but despaired since there wouldn't be a way to distribute a patched binary that would be trustworthy.
A better way would be for the windower team to have something that changes the instruction in memory instead. It's just signature scan + offset.

These are what I use:
Group 1:
Grimoire Recast 5/5
Helix Acc/Attack 5/5
I think 5/5 Helix is universal for most people. I used to do Sublimation, but with current gear and buffs, I don't feel I need it any more. I despise being stuck in the wrong arts so I prefer making it easier to switch between arts.
Group 2:
Altruism 4/5
Focalization 5/5
Enlightenment 1/5
I choose 5/5 for Focalization to help with nukes/gravity/sleep/bind but you really could do Altruism if you're more worried about Silence/Paralyze/Slow etc. The Enlightenment is great for quickly casting Raise/Reraise.

It already assumes you have wyvern + max spirit link bonus.
if self.main_job == "drg": # Bonus stats for having a fully leveled Wyvern pet:
self.stats["Wyvern Bonus Attack%"] = True # This represents the +20% attack that will be applied later for having a wyvern out. Additive bonus with smite, berserk, chaos roll, etc.
self.stats["Weapon Skill Damage Trait"] = self.stats.get("Weapon Skill Damage Trait",0) + 10
self.stats["JA Haste"] = self.stats.get("JA Haste",0) + 10
self.stats["DA"] = self.stats.get("DA",0) + 15
self.stats["Attack"] = self.stats.get("Attack",0) + 40 # +40 attack for having a fully leveled Wyvern pet with 20/20 Job Points.
Thank you very much for the confirmation :D apperciate it!

I would not be surprised if they used that as THE drop rate. 'They' love that number in this world

So your server will have an entire month to kill as many of the 22 nms they want to try to raise the drop rate.
That's my guess too.
But we haven't heard anything from the Phoenix folk regarding more drop rate data from boxes to see what effect killing even all NMs has.
14/22 was the last report, but 22 reports is not enough to make a conclusion. Base rate is more or less known (33%).

will you still have to kill all 22 NM's (so 44) per area per week to maximize drop rate? Since the idea seems to be to make it more relaxed, I'd guess the 22 nms will spawn on a monthly, rather than weekly basis. So your server will have an entire month to kill as many of the 22 nms they want to try to raise the drop rate.

Booked my hotel room for tomorrow, but damn these deep sea charters are starting at $1,000 for four hours, that is an absolute scam. Guarantee they stay close to the shoreline and catch trash fish like benito and kings. I am going to have to call them each individually until I find the right one.

This is only true if the extra meva you have from other pieces of armor is making you to resist the magic damage though.
You don't need to take my word for it. Go out and use a non ilvl set of gear and get cast on by a random Ghost in Feiyin. Throw on a Wayfarer's set and look at the difference in damage received. There's a reason why we used Vex/attunement for a lot of bosses early on before we had this massive magic evasion stat bloat, partly enfeeble resist, but it helped a lot for magic defense of front line jobs to help resist the damage. Not needed so much now with stuff like Nyame/Sakpata's/Malignance/Empyrean +3, but same concept.

Example:
-Arke set has no Magic Evasion (gives -DT); the tradeoff is you receive more TP per hit received at the expense of taking significantly higher magic damage. This is only true if the extra meva you have from other pieces of armor is making you to resist the magic damage though. And its only been rather recently that SE has been slathering meva on armor.
Just to use Pumm Mask (literally the top piece when going down the list, I'm not cherry picking anything)
NQ 36
+1 53 (+17)
+2 63 (+10)
+3 73 (+10)
+4 98 (+25)
The stat upgrades from +3 to +4 were pretty shitty overall, but they backed up the brinks truck to upgrade the acc/macc/eva/meva on those pieces.

I actually used Diverters Ring for a long time in my SMN's idle set. There was literally nothing else to use besides Evoker's Ring. Maybe Defending Ring if you had one but no one did back then.
I think that was true until the Adoulin era when we got Thurandaut, Varar, Stikini, etc.
Oh sure I always wanted it, but it's all jobs and realistically just gives MP+15 for them. I don't really know why this ring was all jobs. MP+15 wasn't good and who is going to sub SMN and gain benefit from Avatar: Enmity+2

I thought the tradeoff for arke was you get all the resist debuff stuff without the magic evasion

I use the following:
Group1
Helix 5/5
Sublimation 5/5
Group2
Focalization 4/5
Enlightenment 1/5
Stormsurge 5/5
Focalization was from a long time ago when I felt it made a difference during Tabula to land strong helixes.
Nowadays it's probably no longer useful to me but I've been lazy to change it.

It's fake, you can stop biting. It's real. In true SE fashion, their way to limit it to 4 is the dumbest *** thing ever.
I don't think it's the dumbest thing ever. We originally had the ability to add over 4 accounts. They took that away. If I was working on this, I'd have just left as much of the code there as I could. Product people change their mind 30 times per second. Considering they obviously had horrible source control management, this is the safest way. You don't want the product people coming back in 6 months telling you to undo the change and then the guy who originally wrote it left the company and you deleted all the code and have to figure it out from scratch again.
Their way of doing it is to not load the add new button if there is four accounts or more. The ui and backend can hold somewhere around 25 accounts.

generally speaking it just comes down to if you have a dnc with you. if you do its a net gain to be /war or /drg, if you dont then DW is the way to go with /nin or dnc. Not sure if /dnc samba from someone else would be enough to push to single wield but if so that's also an option.
Since I'm here, how relevant is Farsha AM? Historically I've liked the idea of playing BST more than actually playing the job, and optimizing around my Farsha always felt awkward. Picking the best sub felt awkward too. How best to work around the jank?
Similar to WAR just worse since you dont get the juicy +DA dmg on 100% of your swings, build to 3k for AM then calamity until its time to re-up, not sure where it'd sit in the hierarchy of BST axes and you'd probably get similar results just using ikenga's and spamming calamity at lower TP values but if you already have the axe then go nuts

I don't remember my cat 1 merits, but for cat 2 most of the time I'm rocking 5/5 Enlightenment/Focalization.
I very rarely change it. I know some people do storm surge, but the bonus for that is so so low that it isn't worth it to me.

I don't see a reason to /war ever, but that is a personal opinion. The simulations noted above are also vastly different from my own. However individual play style is a factor and I personally play BST 99% of the time /dnc. The other 1% would be /drk tbh for LR using Scythe for funzies.
