I really liked being able to find non-stops for Cedar Rapids -> Dallas/Fort Worth and Cedar Rapids -> Vegas

Yea from my experience it's all based on the price to travel (usually dependent on the type of plane as well) and nearby hubs.

Sometimes it’s cheaper to have those stops.

Also if you happen to be flying Delta it’s because DTW is a hub.
