Idk why you would do it. If you do, that's what happens.

When a "journalist" tries to spin that something something tarnished a game that sold 30 million copies...

You know they're full of it.

Too wordy, too long, too alarmist and I lasted only 5 minuets.

But you dont lose a charge unless youve used an amp? Why would you start charging with two V25s then throw in a V0? Why not finish the charge then do the V0?

To mix in a clear for someone else at a lower V without losing a charge. Need at least V1 in that case.

I think it comes down to the direction SE took after Sortie. I remember somebody warned us...

They said the music to Sortie sucked - I remember it - they said they went to Juilliard or something so they know music, but that was the first time we felt discourse to the direction they were taking (besides why is everything is purple)

god damn was he right... that song does suck listening to it again.

But why would you do it like that? Your charge would be V16.
By Shichishito on 2025-10-13 14:13:20
If you're ML50 chances are you bot anyway and you could care less about any EP loss on death.

What people should consider is the exponentially steep EP climb from ML30 upwards that is already grueling and becomes even more grueling due to EP loss from death. It also punishes solo play significantly harder because EP gain is slower solo and you'll encounter more situations where you're forced to home point.

The diminishing returns argument also doesn't hold up anymore if you change your perspective to a ML30 player as there are still some perks to be unlocked from sub job and the stat gain till ML50 is similar to a SU5 neck.

Scenario 3:
You have a supercharge on.
You never use an amplifier.
You do 3 NMs, but time out on the last one without dealing >5%

Result:
You still have a supercharge.

Sheol C: 7F fodder = ~150EP, 7F Agon = ~230EP. Dont have lower floors in my log, I was only able to get these because someone died and they were getting EP again. Its undoubtedly lower on the lower floors as the targets are lower level.
You're not getting good EP in these events.

This adds up to... dunno but I want to say 20-30k per run on an ML50 character, more if you're lower (and/or if you bother to sync at entry, which some groups do). For a 30min run it's not bad at all, and again it's a lot higher if the entire group is at lower MLs.
Youre limited to 30 minutes in Sheol C though. And ~50k/hr is pretty bad.

Someone with an uncapped job can easily *** their EP gains in a Sheol run to give a more precise number though.

The only way to lose a charge is to use it. That is to say: do 5% or more on a boss above v0, while you have an amplifier buff on.
That was always my belief as well!

Anyway Felgarr I can share at least two scenarios that happened to me a plethora of times

Scenario 1
You have Supercharge on.
You use Amplifier.
You wipe and/or fail to deal >5% damage

Result:
The supercharge won't be consumed
(this happened even multiple times in a row to me, the supercharge didn't get consumed until we managed to deal >5%)

Scenario 2
You have supercharge on.
You're doing a 3 NM runs
The NM you want is scheduled for second.
As such you DO NOT use Amplifier on the first.

Result:
The supercharge will remain and will correctly be consumed on the 2nd NM, when you do use Amplifier.

No idea when I'm gonna go back to work, but it's probably not gonna be anytime soon. I could charter another offshore trip, but at the same time, the cost of that would cover 4 inshore charters. I've been saving up for this vacation for years, still, maybe it would be better to take it easy on the expenses. Laying on the beach is free at least.

Ryuohinge - best looking polearm by alot and most fun to use. FU drakesbane......

Gae Buide - because the name is fing hilarious to pronounce, thats why! Oh, best pyhsical damage weapon in the game too i guess.

Tizona - Makes blu not completely suck. Also, the banana litteraly goes with every lockstyle!

Idris - See Tizona but swap blu for geo.

Caldbolg - Gutts. Nuff said.

Gastraphetes - Give to a Taru and call him Tyrion.

Trishula - because everyone needs a Taru catcher.

I'm fine with EP loss on death. If you are the type of player who is willing to grind past ML30 legitimately, you probably enjoy that sort of activity at least a little. In that case, topping back off after a string of deaths doesn't seem like a huge deal: you shouldn't be dying all the time.

Below 30ish, the 2% is just irrelevant. Undoing an hour of group exp at ML30 would take dozens of deaths. At 75, the capped 2400 loss was equivalent to around 13 deaths per hour of exp.

Yes, the curve gets nasty as you get to ML40-50. However, ML40-50 weren't intended to be something that everyone bots or buys just to have. If you weren't altering the perceived cost with those tactics, you probably wouldn't be at a ML where you're that concerned about the loss on death.

Final note is probably going to be seen as a hot take, but yolo. If you're dying so much that the EP loss is causing you grief, adjust your ****ing strategy. Dying has consequences in pretty much any game from the same era, console or otherwise. Yes, it's 2025, but you're choosing a game that still retains many aspects of earlier design. There are plenty of modern MMOs if that's your priority.

Clearly, you don't RP farm. Death is inevitable, unless you expect to clear every boss when RP farming

"botting EP is bad"
also
"who cares about EP loss you can just bot it back"

I mean technically, don't you lose your super charge by failing?:

1.) You enter a fight, try to Ooze, fail to do the necessary 6% and then timeout?
2.) Exit by any means without waiting for time to run out?

SE described this supercharge as a chain, so I'm inclined to think we can break the chain in a few of these ways above. Does anyone disagree?

Fishing trip was a huge success yesterday. Well worth the 2 grand. Started out at 5 AM and it took about an hour to get out there, which was fun all in itself. Early bite was great, caught 2 wahoo and 8 spanish mackerel. I kept both wahoo and 3 spanish, gave the rest to the Captain and First Mate.

Funny moment when the first fish hit and the mate was fixing one of the lines on the outrigger, which meant I grabbed the rod before he could get over there. The Captain gave him some grief over it but it was no big deal.

That bite slowed down a lot around 10 AM, but I was still good to fish. Fishing alone means you have to reel everything in on your own. I had brought some protein bars, an old school lunchable, and a 9 pack of Gatorade, so I was good. We switched over to bottom fishing and caught 2 grouper, 2 red snapper, and 2 cobia that were too small. It really sucked having to throw those cobia back but they were 22 and 24 inches and the minimum is 34. So they weren't even close. Out of that bunch I only kept 1 grouper, I don't like snapper at all.

The bite died again and that was it, we came in. Took almost 2 hours to get back, we ended up being 40 miles off the coast. Couldn't even see the skyline. Captain let me drive for a while, which was awesome. We all got along, I knew my way around a boat and talked about growing up there. How much its changed and how tough the recent years have been. He told me if I was still in town this next weekend he would give me $500 off.

Best vacation ever.

I do not see the issue with the EP loss, it’s very minor. I HP all the time, and I don’t care. I wouldn’t mind actually if it was 10x higher either. But at the same time, I actually agree that doing the content (limbus, NM, full sortie clear…) should reward more, and EPing should as well, this also should be more engaging, but SE doesn’t want us to EP in a fun way, ex: mobs don’t kill you (they might eat your food or give you evasion down wooo), they just stare at you pretty much, the only content that was engaging was ***down pretty much (looking at you with that fancy AE strat in t he nest). But either way, it’s a game and it’s no big deal either way.
By Brimstone on 2025-10-13 09:38:45
The modern game is better in that you can at least get XP while doing something interesting.

The xp loss at ML40+ is pretty harsh particularly if you're solo and can't get a raise. Couple this with a long fight that has a high probability of dying and no tangible personal rewards (not sure raising a bad drop rate to a slightly worse drop rate counts) for doing it, I don't see the content being particularly relevant for a large percentage of the player base.

I enjoy the challenge of things, but finding 5 others on the same schedule who are willing to time sink some challenge when they get nothing either is harder than the actual content...
By Nariont on 2025-10-13 09:35:14
ML was supposed to just be a side grind in a game that's running out of stuff to grind long term for outside of something like a prime or more remas, course players will be players and consider it a requirement to cap it out like everything else. The penalty is there both as a call back to the old days and as a way to keep you grinding, cause what else you going to spend time on these days if you're so bored you legit(bot) up to ML50? Really if they'd move foil/fruit down to level SJ51~53 there'd be little need beyond the base stats to go above ML30 which is when the grind starts to get really bad.
By Nickeny on 2025-10-13 09:28:07
I have a dream where the content gives rewards based on the effort that was given. A utopia where players can give effort and bear fruit from the time given. All players of varied skill sets will be rewarded, and the risk will be elevated for the sense of enjoyment. A place where, when the NMs are killed, rewards are given, and people are joyful from the experience. Where the try hards and the have nots can play in unity.

The constant failure of SE is always swept under the rug, but no longer. I want content I can tell my friends who quit to come back to. I want SE to get players to come back to the game. I want SE to work on getting new players. I want a SE not owned by SE

as long as you never use an amp you don't lose the charge. Win or lose

but have you verified that damaging a V0 without an amplifier actually removes the charge?

No idea, no.
By Rairin on 2025-10-13 09:02:43
My impression was that you don't lose a supercharge until you overwrite it with a new supercharge or kill something with an active amplifier and gain points from it. I could see how killing a V0 with an amplifier might still consume it (0 * whatever is still 0), but have you verified that damaging a V0 without an amplifier actually removes the charge?

I just saw that Netflix gonna release a brazilian movie called “Caramelo” (Caramel).

It feels like a strong candidate for best movie awards.

So, I watched this movie review and… it was not good in the end.

What is the problem? Well, the problem is that the caramel dog, despite being the most interesting character in the story… it is not the protagonist!

The movie starts with some nice scenes with the dog living his life, what is the peak in this movie, but then it focus solely om the actual protagonist, the guy over there, that just live a very mundane and uninteresting story.

It is funny how, without the dog, this serie would be just a random story with nothing different, nothing unique.

The movie only unique flavor is the dog, but he simply isnt that important to the story!

So in the end, they just used the dogs popularity to sell a generic story.

It is just a scam, in the end
