They try to avoid game breaking changes.

...and sections with too much spaghetti code.

That is the part I object to.

The reason is that the goblin hours are only 11-22 I think (limited hours) so they wanted another way to obtain them at any time.

I guess they could have changed the hours of the goblin npc instead but they didn't want to do that for some reason.

Got to appreciate the honesty. Imho it's better to say as it is than raising hopes only to get inevitably disappointed later on.

Although one has to wonder what the purpose of those streams are.

Strongly question what the point of this featurette was supposed to be, if it's just two straight hours of "no, we're not changing anything". Why even have a Q&A event if you're not going to humor any of the questions given?

If anything, showings like these only hurt the game's appeal overall. From a business perspective, it's far better marketing to at least pretend changes might be coming and keep a playerbase in eternal anticipation of things which will ultimately never be realized, rather than give an outright hard "no" to a lot of very legitimate complaints.

Did they at least go over the reasoning for why they aren't going to touch anything ever (aside from a chronic lack of manpower/learned helplessness/etc)?

For those who missed it, this sums up Fujito's answer to all the questions:

Sortie has geo debuff nerfs, why would u wanna test it in there? ... could test it anywhere else.

I did this testing like a week ago, for something unrelated. Regardless, I saw 0 para procs for like 2 minutes. Then I tagged it and got paralyzes constantly.

Maybe there's a difference between indi Para, poison, gravity, etc. But I'm extremely confident in saying paralyze doesn't proc on mobs you've aggro'd.

Aggroed with an action or walking into range for sight/sound? A passive aggro (sight, link, etc) doesn't build a hate list. This is why super tanking works.

Aggro'd as the way literally everyone uses the term. The mob started attacking me without my instigating. If I wanted to describe using an action on the mob, I'd say I pulled a mob. It would also completely defeat the purpose of the tests, and I'm not that dumb.

Idk when or how this testing was done, but I had the opposite experience. Pulled mobs in sortie basement by aggroing on GEO, got 0 paralyze procs.

Carbuncle.Nynja said: »

edit: this might not be entirely conclusive since it was with indi and not geo. I never picked up any easily deducible geo-debuffs and I'm too lazy to look up where to get geo-poison/para

Isn't it ironic how you're lazy to check such a simple thing, yet you're willing to write all these answers? Can you see it...?

Geo-Para Fei Yin, Geo-Poison East Ronfarue.. it wasn't hard xD

I hate that all these youtubers are using AI voices now, annoying

Im sorry for that, but my diction is trash, and Im not a native english speaker.

When I tried to speak in that chitchat, the production time certainly doubled, because how much retakes I had to do to fix my tone and words.

Maybe if I had more training and practice, I could do a better work.

But really shaves off a lot of time by throwing a script and have the narration done.

But I dont plan to always use AI voice. At some point I will try speaking for chitchats, and soon I will try using AI voice modification.

Seems like a good middleground: mezzo human, mezzo machine, mezzo dog.

Oh, wait, this is 1.5!

If you're truly counting gil to that extent, you could have just home pointed to sky and killed an elemental.

The elemental crystals don't matter. It's the fact that SE saw an NPC selling an item and went "We should add this to our other NPC that trades explicitly for items that are very hard to get or were only handed out a handful of times and add the SAME ITEMS BUT MORE EXPENSIVE FOR NO REASON. AND THEN MAKE IT PART OF VANABOUT TO GET CHEATED."

That is the part I object to.

I really don't feel like going back and finding the quote, but someone earlier, in defense of the Moogle chip trade, said that it gave you 3 chips instead of 1.

You sir are a *** liar. It gives you 1 chip. You pay 12 crystals and 23,908 - 26,299 Gil for something that costs 21,000 Gil at the goblin. You are stupid as *** for thinking that is a valid use of the *** Moogle.
By Trixi on 2026-03-25 22:12:56
Sure, just depends how crazy they go with additions to the options. You'll never not cap, just might take an extra couple months to do it.

Ah, the good old "Go *** yourself, we aren't changing ***". I missed the Sage Sundi approach.

Not too much of interest, but apparently they'll be bumping trust points up from 80 a month to 100 a month. Seemingly with ambuscade for the extra 20.

Rumors that a couple AI slop generators have been shut down
It wasn't because slop, it was because of ... unprofitably would be putting it mildly. If you are using a small city's worth of electricity and water you need a positive cashflow and wankers making cheap porn or cheaper memes won't pay the bills.
Doesnt matter
Shut down

If you tagged Geomancy on mobs and then died, raised and cast an indi-bubble without performing a hostile action, that bubble would also be ineffective because you have not established any hate on the monster.

captain pedant reporting in to point out that dying only resets hate if you reach the top of the hate list while dead (same for zoning/logging out).. if mob aims to turn to you and you're no longer a valid target, you're taken off hate list but otherwise you can sit in the middle of it while dead or gone

obviously, you most typically have hate while dying but aoes and other mobs do exist

I'm pretty sure that this maze used to be tuned so that you might be beating on an nm for 15 mins without killing it, and rewards were based on how much hp you chipped off of it. Ranks are probably in 20% HP increments.

Man I haven't seen anybody talk about this yet. Did you guys see the Yorva Replica option from Mog Pell Marble from Vanabout rank 3.

Pulled from BGWiki.
First obtainable via an official forums contest called "XI Years of FINAL FANTASY XI". It was held from Thursday, May 16, 2013 to Thursday June 6th 2013.

11 first place participants received this statue. All other entrants received Copse Candy x11.

That means that only 11 of these existed before this? It's a pretty cool decoration!
By Dalight on 2026-03-25 17:15:11
I just did Final Bout for the BCNM with the PUP strat, just don't drag your feet at the start because you only get 3 mins in there (it's more than enough, just don't decide to go in and go to the toilet or something)

Incidentally, since you guys were talking about it, just so happens my Vana'Bout site has a calculator for working out your password for Doctor status now. It already exists elsewhere, but, heck with it why not at this point. Can find it here.

I promise I'll shut up about my website now

Time to ask the only thread who would ever even possibly know something, again.

What are the "Ranks", and can you ever get anything other than 5? I haven't tested Voucher 9 with Supreme Might or anything, that's the only guess I've got, I'm just spamming it for easy clears / the occasional Revitalizer.

Oh damn, I never noticed this before. I've got some digging to do, and not just the choco variety!

In my experience... when defeating the mob for the 1st time, it went straight to 5, and repeat kills never changed the number. I've tried using "negative" modifier runes as well to impact it

I'm not sure it's been extensively tested, but I believe the community "knowledge" about Aminon HM is that it's the exact same fight, but with -25% DT.

Relevant link for 25% DT. They say the behavior will be changed, but I have noticed absolutely no difference. Possibly something related to TP moves (which we obviously never see). Might be the back-to-back TP move usage thing.

25% -DT and it wipes buffs on pull if you aren't careful is only real difference iirc

They both wipe buffs if you don't pull correctly.

My bad! I'm always on Dnc and obviously not paying attention :D
By benjamus on 2026-03-25 16:13:53
huh, good to know! Could be spaghetti related then, or just bad luck? Definitely report back if you try to dig in the niche zones that never get dug I suppose
