New mod is engaged to one of the other mods.
It is not THAT unheard of that a person in a position of authority uses that to raise someone in a romantic relationship to the same or higher elevated position.

Suddenly a fairly new poster, regardless of how long they've been lurking, has been modded.
Given a certain incident, not long ago, quite a few people are wary of our current mods capabilities in their position. A mod with their backing isn't going to mean much to those people.
EDIT: That said, hesitant or not, no one has been doing any attacking. I'm hoping for the best.

Spoke to Scragg as recently as earlier today, and if you hadn't noticed he was very prompt with updating the site's database after this last version update (compared to the last sluggish 2 months.)
I'm confident he'll try to keep ffxiah up to date.
I've been kinda pushing it for him to keep it up to date. Glad he's doing so.

Spoke to Scragg as recently as earlier today, and if you hadn't noticed he was very prompt with updating the site's database after this last version update (compared to the last sluggish 2 months.)
I'm confident he'll try to keep ffxiah up to date.
This last update took two weeks, for what (should be) a pretty quick process given that POLUtils gives you a dump of items in easily digestible format. I like Scragg a lot and I know he's busy, but the notion that we have an active hand on the admin console is just obviously, patently untrue.

I mean gw has the info so I don't think it's impossible to obtain it, but I guess there's just no interest on Scragg's part.

As of right now, there's 21 tasks including adding all what you said onto the site. It's just when he has the time to get to them.

I didn't expect FFXIAH to reach this status anytime soon, though. It's pretty sad. I think that's what "shock" people the most as FFXIAH has had its fair share of abuse from mods but never fell into the usual "she's my grill" pattern that we could see in-game in different LSs.
But hey, it's still pretty harmless.

Is one of those tasks adding things to the FFXIVPro side?
It always seemed like there were meant to be bigger plans for it - a lot of the functionality FFXIAH already has would be pretty easily repurposed into useful tools on that side.
I don't even play XIV anymore, but it'd be a shame for this place to wind down just because of XI's eventual shuttering, when there's a wealth of information and a userbase sitting right there.

I'm pretty sure someone will backup the forums if this place was to shut down, or at least I hope so. It's "the other BG", as BG has a lot of information that cannot be found here but the opposite is also true.
From the look of it, there will always be that "little" playerbase to stick around here, those names that whether they post a lot or not have always been around and have stable enough lives to be around for a while. I'm not too worried, I'm sure Scragg would let someone backup the forums/functionalitiy and things would just keep going on another forum/website, in the worst case.

Is it an option to farm out some work to volunteers willing to take care of it? I'm not sure what the back end of the site looks like and if there are granular enough permissions to allow for someone to make basic updates without giving them powers that could break the site or even be misused.
