I *** up so hard earlier in this game. Was fighting the dragon for the rainbow thread. Died a few times to it, then on my third try (after I figured out it's weaknesses/moves) I kill it on my first turn. Though during my first turn, he manages to kill Ringabel, and right after he dies I kill it. Lost out on an entire level and job level on him. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Was going to restart, but I wanted to watch the cutscene and then it auto-saved right after. Was like "Nooooooooooooooooooooooo". Also, how do you open locked chests? Does it require a few job levels in thief? Or can you get keys somewhere? You obtain a key item to open them later in the game.

Was running all along the edges of these dungeons looking for a secret passage to get a key. lol One more question... what is with the support abilities that increase that job's weapon proficiency to S? When that weapon is usually already at S. Can you cross-class support abilities later on? Or do some jobs not have an S scaling in their primary weapon? Black Mage for example got Rod lore (think that is the name) and they already have Rods at S. It's to cross-class. So say if you wanna use bows on knight you can put the S rank from ranger to make it better.
Not like you'd wanna use bows on knights, just an example!

Oh okay. Awesome. Tried setting a couple of other abilities for other jobs but the support abilities aren't showing up at the moment unless I'm on that job. I figured it was something that would be unlocked later on.
I really like how they made magic work in this one. (Being able to select all allies or enemies on certain spells.) Now if I can just find the -ra line of spells for Protect/Shell. Don't like having to use four turns just to protect or shell everyone. Ringabel and Edea crack me up though. Especially their back-and-forth banter. i turned off auto saving on the game lol
I need to finish this game lol. I stopped after unlocking dark knight. Had all chars lv99 and 3- 6 jobs capped on each. Just have no motivation to finish...
I'm in the same boat. Maxed out all jobs but lost my charger and haven't finished it. I'm at the part with the 4v4 battles.
Finished the game in 2 days with non-stop playing. I just couldn't get enough of it. Even with the whole 2nd half being what it is.
It's really fun and the story is great but it's just seeming to drag now. Probably spent too much time grinding... I have 70something hours ._. probably why I haven't picked it up in a while.

Was hoping to be able to unlock spell sword at the same time but I tried the fight with "killing" him first and no luck. So I redid the fight and just quickly killed the little ***. When you get a chance, can you send another move? Oh and thanks for the Abilink as well. Didn't realize how good Abilinking is until I linked with you. (The guests/bots all suck.) So unless im missing something, there really isnt anything worthwhile to steal from asterisk jobs the second time (chapter 5) around?
I tried with all bosses, but nothing unique came from any of them; just various potions and weapons I already obtained before.

i'll definitely check it out then, need something to do when waiting for imprenteurs to finish up Mummers coalition anyways, i've been playin tactics (psp verson) on a tablet in the meantime. got so bad i started naming people in the game after people from my server on their respective jobs. Snapshot is my ranger :(
really post chapter 6 the bosses only have Ethers to steal, though Oritas (the BLM) has Lordly Robes

I did a little looking on the web last night at work and couldn't find an answer.
Was wondering about something. I just unlocked ranger and set one of my support abilities as auto-aspir drain from spell fencer. Upon using one of the ranger's killer abilities, it procs the aspir drain and I get more mana back than the cost of the ability (my intent) but the killer ability doesn't seem to do any actual damage. I no longer see the critical/weak point text or any damage text. Just the mp drain text. I know I'm using the correct killer ability. (Beast killer on bears/plant killer on the little treants). Is this intended to keep you from having infinite mana on what is atm some pretty powerful attacks? Never tried, but it's possible the killer effect is an enhancement and it's thus overwritten.
