Speaking of things that pain your very essence, my municipal authority has some of the most aurally offensive hold music I've ever heard in my life, and the nature of my work requires spending a pretty considerable amount of time on hold.
I'm pretty sure it's some six-year-old's first piano recital.
It's terrible and all played in the upper registers.

Man I feel bad for this lady on the train everyday... She quite literally has a coughing fit at least three times every morning to which she is left catching her breath for minutes afterwards... Then she eventually falls asleep I surmise because she is worn out from The coughing fits.... Snores like a demon that one she does... I watched as one guy the other day started poking her covertly until she snapped back into reality...
But really this lady needs to be able to stay home man and not be forced to go into work every day at that age with what has to be some kind of health issue...
