Well manga does have more story in them!

Most of time yes, but aberrations like dragon ball surpass all limits. Its much more stories than manga, but i think most of them are unnecessary.

Also, i just cant take great battles like freeza or vegetta lasting a full week of episodes. In my case is even more traumatic as the very first channel to show original dragon ball in brasil was a weekly. So basically it lasted like months to finish a single arc.

I just plan on watching Kiniro Mosaic 2 and the new Saint Seiya spinoff, hoping it's not too shitty :x there's probably more good stuff to check out, but I guess I just don't wanna commit to too many things this season.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but as I was telling Minefield a few hours back, check out Tokyo Ghoul, its a very good anime. Recommend the sub over dub.

Tokyo Ghoul is definately the anime to watch right now. But imo, I prefer the manga over the anime.

Been watching Legend of the Galagtic Heros. Pretty awesome classic.

And Tokyo Ghoul is definitely worth checking out. I prefer the manga, even though the anime provides a nice "what-if" scenario (not a significant difference IMO).

can't stand this anime. The way they pose those who eat people as good and those who hunt these people eaters as bad, really irks me.

Fate Stay Night (Unlimited Blade Works version) is interesting.

Assassination Classroom is good too. Something about trying to kill your teacher because he is planning to destroy the planet, but you are unable to because he moves at Mach 20... good stuff.

all perspective, really. Especially when you have ghouls that try to co-exist peacefully (by eating people who commit suicide, etc.) Then you have basic physiology. They need food to live (same as we do). Am I evil for eating a cow? Some may think so but oh well.

There's a lot of things wrong with Tokyo Ghoul, but you're thinking waaaaay into it if that's your reason for disliking the show

not really thinking waaaaaay into it. they make those who try to save humans out as bad people. co-exist peacefully? eating people who commit suicide is wrong too. It's called defiling someone's corpse. It's just as wrong as having sex with someone's corpse. If you need to eat that which just a short while ago was talking to you... you should probably crawl in a corner and die or have a bullet put in your brain to put you out of your misery (or rather out of the misery of others that you are causing).

Oooh! Typically I won't post in here because I'm not an anime fan, but this topic is something I've discussed in college and has always intrigued me. No, I'm not talking about cannibalism.

I want to start by talking about one of the greatest prose authors of the 20th century, Vladimir Nabokov. He wrote a lot of very cryptic stuff and scholars still analyze his work even though he died 38 years ago. See, Nabokov was in the school of believing that literature and art were not necessarily didactic, or in other words, he didn't have to believe or share the same ideas/idealism as his characters. There isn't necessarily a part of him in his work, but rather he just created it because he could.

Nabokov wrote one of the most disturbing novels of that or pretty much any century: Lolita. Ever hear of the Japanese term Loli? That's a direct reference to this novel. In it, the story is told in first person by the character Humbert Humbert, who happens to be a pediphile. He prowls this 12 year old girl and eventually has his way with her. The process is all too stunning and at some points (upon reading it), you almost cringe when he gets caught doing it. There's the part of you who realizes he's a very disgusting person and he should get caught, but the other part where you remember every time you've ever been caught on a lie or for doing something stupid. Kinda like almost every scene in Meet the Parents.

Hawkward.

So, why am I writing about some book written in the 1950s when the discussion is anime? Because the essence of seeing the cannibals as the protagonists to this anime you're referring to is very Nabokovian. The writers wanted to mess with you. They wanted to put a spin on something you've never seen before. They wanted you to sympathize with some very disgusting individuals. Why? Because their art isn't didactic. It should be taken as just that: art.
