Don't worry, I don't want you to pronounce anything. I'm not expecting that from someone that replaces words with "w/".

What's w/ the hostility?

What's with the brown-nosing? I don't know if you noticed, but I was assaulted with a vehement comment.

I was called lame and my thread was called lame as well. So, you should be consoling me instead of brown-nosing.

What's a "lame starter thread" anyways?

I've never thought of the word 'lame' as very insulting...nor vehement. I, myself, am rated down 90% of the time, because of who I am, or due to joking around in other threads or even in the past. That's not that big a deal, until other people are rated down because of who I am.

I'm honesly not even doing this on purpose. I seem to be bringing out the worst in myself and with it in everyone that responds here.

This thread started with such innocent intent.

I was checking out some pieces of gear and I was wondering how an everyday Texan civilian would pronounce Homam Cosciales.

:)

The less annoying version of this thread would have asked "How do you pronouce askar" etc instead of assuming everyone does it wrong.

I remember pronouncing Einherjar ine-hair-yar on skype and my ls goes LOLNO IT'S IN HER JAR!

Homam is also Arabic. It means brave.
There are a few Arabic ones actually:

Abtal -> Heroes
Seraweels -> Pants(es) lol. Coulda done without the last s.
Al Zahbi -> The Golden
Neza -> That one is surprising. It's very colliqual for fishing spears. I don't know where they dug this up.

Pahluwan Qalansuwa has two different origins. Pahluwan is Persian for fighter I think, Qalansuwa is Arabic for those priest hats, I foregt whet they're called. Oh, and it's pronounced the way it's typed.

Actually, I've never seen Al Zahbi followed by whitegate. It's just Al Zahbi. Aht Urgan Whitegate and Al Zahbi.

So it would be just "The golden".

Correct, a lot of the fishes that appear throughout the game have arab names as well.

A few that's always bugged me on Skype.

Haidate. Pretty simple Japanese. "hi-DAH-tay" Had a few people in my shell say it like "HAY-date"

Byakko. "by-AH-koh" Had someone say something along the lines of Byakoko, or something. This shell had a drinking problem.

Suzaku. "soo-ZAH-koo" Head it pronounced "SOO-zuh-koo"

I don't really nag people for not saying Seiryu with the d because I know a lot of people who literally can't say it like that.

"BAH-ha-moot" bugs me. I've always said "ba-HA-mut"

FFXII they pronounce it Ba-Ha-Moot, but in FFXIII Fang says Ba-Ha-Muht.

From the religious pronunciation, Ba-Ha-Moot is correct.

You do realize, it doesn't actually matter how it's really pronounced, or how some people pronounce it. As long as the other person/people understand what you're talking about.
