I'm on financial aid too lol
One of the things that was discussed was the black community's specific needs in this area. It's a group very much dominated by the religious/abstinence-only treatment of sex "education," and in which the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS is especially pronounced, creating an environment that scares people into simply hoping they won't be infected.
Personally I see nothing wrong with having that discussion. D: To be clear, I also don't entirely disagree with what you said either. It's a messy issue lol

nah im just sick of the trash. sorry but i dont want to talk about the black communities specific needs. they can talk about it themselves, they dont care and would only ever see me as an infringement, i wouldnt waste my time, which is why i think its HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE that its open to all.
itt: either make a general hiv/aids awareness thing, or make one geared towards whites and also towards blacks.

Why are there special interest groups that target minorities? Perhaps because minorities are more highly susceptible to HIV/AIDs and STI's than anglo-saxon men.
Take any NIH/CDC stat data from the last few years from New York or Los Angeles, and i can assure u Anglo's arnt on the highest infected rate. Its usually latino and blk gay men. African Americans And Latinos Are Most Affected By HIV
So by providing additional resources to select minorities, who are at higher risk. We do a service to the community as the whole, in terms of reducing STI/HIV transmission rates.

im all for "providing additional resources to select minorities" but i also think its illogical to then "welcome all". it clearly isn't welcoming all because its specially targeting something other than all.

Yah "white" also isn't a culture. Latino and african those are cultures. Also "white middle aged suicide has little to do with HIV/AIDS" and i think more to do with psych disorders.
@Sylow- well both are right. theres "white people" who are both of british ancentry and Caucasus region ancestry. but thats completely off the point what i was making.

well, not really. what you said was technically almost vacuously true with anglo-saxon being a highly specific ethnic group.
for example, i'm mostly white (7/8), but i'm not anglo-saxon at all. i'm french/italian/lithuanian.
i enjoy being lumped in with anglo-saxons as much as a puerto rican likes being called mexican.

For all purposes served. I think its best we refer to each-other interns of skin melanin concentration it avoids so many discrepancies...
I'm of Cuban ancestry. And honestly its not a huge deal, ive been called mexican and rican tons of times, its not a big deal. All latinos eat tortillas, rice and beans... its all the same... just the beans and tamales are different colors.
